Graphic Designer as needed for print/web projects‏ (Latham NY)

I run a small graphic design firm in Latham NY and am looking for a designer with some experience and an understanding of good design principles to work on various projects as needed. This is currently not a full time position, but it may turn into one in the future. At this time, I plan to assign you projects as the need comes up. You will work from your own home or office, and we will try to handle most communication via email and phone. I do want someone based locally, in Latham NY or surrounding area, so that when the need arises, you can come to our office to go over project details, and review designs. This would probably only be needed once every few days.

Projects will predominantly involve the design of printed materials from business cards, logo designs, brochures, catalogs, etc. Our clients vary from small store owners looking for a logo and business cards, to larger manufacturers looking to revamp their corporate identity, entire product line packaging, and their print and online collateral. Initially you will work mostly with smaller projects, such as logos, business cards, flyers, etc. If your work is good, you may be given more complex designs to work on. On each project, I will try to go over what is needed, and the overall feel, look, etc. the client wants to achieve. You will then work on creating some draft layouts and email those in for review. You will then usually have a cycle of corrections, and changes until the design is to the clients approval.

In general the designs we create are for small to mid-sized businesses. The expect the designs to help them grow their businesses. Your work should be professional, and show that you have at least a basic understanding of design principles. Ideally, I am looking for someone who can understand what the goal of project is, and deliver a design that meets the clients needs. Your work should be intelligent, and show that you can achieve a design with meaning and purpose.
You will be working from your own home or office, and thus need to have a computer and software capable of handling the work and an internet connection fast enough to handle large files reliably. Most work is done using Adobe creative suite line of programs, mainly illustrator, photoshop, and indesign. You will need to be comfortable working with these programs. Good copy-writing, editing, and communication skills are a plus.

Job Responsibilities

Female Models wanted this Sunday (Voorheesville NY)

We are a photo studio outside of Albany NY. We still have a few openings for models this Sunday for a suds shot. We will be using a hot tub with lots of bubbles and taking shots looking down into the bubbles. Nudity is not required, but preferred once in the tub. Bring your suite and we'll go from there. We will not be taking frontal nudity shots unless asked for. This will stay on the sexy creative side for portfolio purposes. We are releasing these pictures to the models for their portfolio use. There may be some body airbrushing work done at the start of the shoot. Space is limited and we are well over half filled up for the day already.

Graphic Designer (Albany)

Busy design studio is seeking an experienced designer to join our creative team to produce a range of design projects for both print and web. Flexible hours and scheduling for the right person. This position requires the ability to work quickly, creatively and efficiently on a broad range of design projects from modest one color logos to elaborate four color productions including print advertising, posters, flyers, catalogs, newsletters, brochures and other related materials. QUALIFICATIONS


-An undergraduate and/or graduate degree in graphic design

-Minimum of 2 years experience in web and print design
-Demonstrates outstanding creative conceptual skills through a portfolio that is both clean and strong visually

-Strong knowledge of InDesign, Quark, Illustrator, Photoshop
 and in a Mac environment -Working knowledge of Dreamweaver, Flash. This is not an intensive programming job, but working knowledge and basic programming abilities are preferred
