The Amsterdam Family YMCA is offering a drop-in Lil’ Giggles Playgroup for children ages newborn to 4 years old at their Hagaman facility on Tuesdays and Thursdays from 9:00am -10:00am. Lil’ Giggles Playgroup is a great place for little ones to make friends and develop new skills through active play which helps develop gross motor skills, strong muscles, and healthy hearts. Lil’ Giggles Playgroup also helps parents and caregivers make friends and share ideas and experiences in a friendly, safe environment.

A long-standing fiction workshop is seeking new members. We meet twice monthly in the Albany area (Wednesday evenings at 8 p.m. for about 90 minutes). We are looking for writers who are serious about their fiction/play/screenplay and are interesting in having their work critiqued and critiquing others. Our membership includes professional writers and widely-published authors as well as amateurs and folks who are fairly new to the craft and seeking to improve their skills.
We need writers who can commit to taking part regularly -- many new members stick around once or twice and then stop showing up. This makes it difficult to plan regular meetings. If you can host the meetings occasionally, that's a plus, but not essential.

Dark Ages Battle Sport Needs Members! (Glens Falls)

I am Gowan, High Commander of Tir na nOg, a unit of Dagorhir Battle Games based in Glens Falls, New York, and we are currently recruiting new members! Dagorhir is a full-contact medieval combat sport inspired by Dark Ages Europe and Lord of the Rings. Our organization has existed since the mid-1970's and now has over 5000 members nation-wide! Attendance at Ragnarok (our biggest national event) was upward of 3000 people!
Dagorhir uses padded weapons to simulate, similar in spirit to paintball, Medieval Warfare. While fantasy-type personas are allowed (orks and elves and such) there is no magic, and very few rules to bog down the fast-paced flow of the game. Dagorhir is more a sport than a LARP (live action role-play) and focuses almost exclusively on fast-paced, full-contact combat. There are no hit-points, no items or treasure or silly numbers to remember. You get hit, you're dead... just like if it was a real sword. There are no classes, no levels, no magic... save that for D&D. Here, the battles are REAL.
We welcome people of all ages, and physical ability. Don't think you need to be a gym-class hero in order to enjoy Dagorhir, EVERYBODY is welcome! Whether or not you participate in combat is entirely optional; many people find it enjoyable just to dress up and have fun socializing with good, friendly people who share a similar passion for all things Medieval. So, if you liked Lord of the Rings, Robin Hood, Braveheart, or any other tale of epic-ness, email me and see what we are about!

Hello, my name is Scott. I am 24 and i have an anger problem.
i have known for a while that i have an anger problem. the way i have always described it was i had a very long fuse, to a very BIG bomb. but lately my fuse has been getting shorter and shorter inbetween explosions. it has gotten me to the point where both of my roommates have decided that we are no longer friends and i need to move out. i have never hit anyone over my anger but i fear that it is close. i always bottle my feelings up until i explode. and they see that as me being over dramatic. i need someone to vent to. this is a form of venting, but i need to find others to help. a group, something. i currently do not have a license due to multiple (2) dwi's. i will get it back within 2 months. so i am unable to travel unless picked up. i am also currently unemployeed. i had a full time job at albany country club and that being a seasonal job, the season is over so i now collect unemployment. i am stuck here 24/7 with these two who also used to work there and are now home all the time and i will not be able to deal with this much longer. i plan to move out as soon as i can drive again (i have my own car). is there anyone in the area that could help me? guy or girl? just to get me out of this house, to do something else? i need outside help. this is a long shot, so i dont know what to expect. but another fight just happend and i am reaching out to any and all others who are interested in helping in any way they can. if you made it this far, thank you for reading. even if you dont plan on replying. this is 100% real and i am not a spammer. please email me if you have similar issues, if you are interested in helping me in some way, or if you just want to vent back to me. i check my email very often, like...im talking hourly or several times an hour. thank you.

Healing Hearts Support/Educational Group (Samaritan Hospital Troy, NY)
The Healing Hearts Group is for adult female survivors of childhood sexual trauma who have begun the healing process.
