Warehouse Shipping/Receiving Agent, FT (Downtown)

Job Description:
To perform this job successfully, an individual must be able to perform the essential functions for this position and meet the physical requirements needed to perform them.

Primary Responsibility:
Ensures that all shipping documents and functions are completed accurately and on time. Communicates with customers to coordinate outbound freight schedules. Maintains accurate record of all received product. Assists in resolving inventory discrepancies.

Essential Functions:
1. Promote a safe work environment through personal actions. Identify any safety concerns, as well as cost saving opportunities.
2. Prepare tallies. Pull inventories from computer. Match inventories to received product. Add information such as customer number, name, date, product, lot number, etc.
3. Compute results of tally. Re-ad box counts, compute net weight, and compute required temperature.
4. Contact customer to resolve discrepancies in tally results.
5. Maintain correspondence with customers, including receipts, invoices (if required), and tallies. Document all correspondence.
6. Provide assistance in answering the telephone, resolving distribution center problems, and providing backup to the warehouse.
7. In conjunction with distribution, schedule deliveries.
8. Verify all orders and record shipping information.
9. Complete shipping orders including necessary labels and stickers.
10. Update computer inventory reports.
11. Authorize product for shipment.
12. Maintain security procedures at dock.
13. Resolve customer problems as presented. Track down missing shipments.
14. Assist in loading and unloading trucks as necessary.
15. Other duties as requested.

Qualifications/Skills:
· High school diploma or general education degree (GED) plus one year office experience or equivalent training and experience.
· Warehouse or transportation experience a plus.
· Ability to work in high paced, deadline-oriented environment.
· Experienced with Microsoft Office, including Word, Excel and Outlook.
· Ability to add, subtract, multiply and divide whole numbers, fractions and decimals.
· Ability to use a 10-key calculator.
