• Assisting with content for client websites and electronic communications programs.
• Managing media and government relations inquiries.
• Planning and/or supporting special events, including town hall meetings, board of directors meetings, annual meetings, etc.
• Interacting with client team leaders and members.
• Coordinating distribution of press releases and other communication via wire services, internet broadcast, email, fax and mailing lists.

This position is an excellent opportunity for a motivated individual with a desire for a key communications role to utilize your knowledge and experience and to further develop your skills. You should collaborate often with clients, as well as work with reporters and editors across the State.

Qualifications:
• Bachelor's degree in journalism, communications or public relations.
• A minimum of 3 years experience in the press, corporate communications, public relations or investor relations communications. Experience and/or relationships with the Legislative Correspondents Association (LCA) and/or other NYS media outlets highly desirable.
• Very strong written communication skills, including editing and proofreading, and strong oral communications skills.
• Excellent research skills.
• Full proficiency in Word, Excel and PowerPoint. Knowledge or expertise in web publishing highly desirable, as is experience with social network media.
• Ability to work independently.
• Ability to multi-task, work under time constraints and meet deadlines.
• Outstanding attention to detail and strong follow-up skills.
• Maintain confidentiality at all times.
• Some travel required.
