Won't you please help us save some lives?

These wonderful faces belong to Bladen County Animal Control in Elizabethtown, NC a very small shelter in a rural part of the state. Unfortunately we don't get a lot of help from the community and we take in lots of strays and owner surrenders. The rescues that we currently deal with are full at this time and can't help us, so we are looking for some outside help. If there are any rescues out there who can take in a few of our dogs or cats, boy would that be a blessing in disguise and we would glady welcome you. As a 501c3 rescue you can pull our companions for free. I adopted my dog and cat from out of state and they have been the best loyal companions I could have ever asked for. These babies just need a second chance, they need somoene who will believe in them and provide unconditional love and compassion. Please help us save some lives, the shelter is full and they plan on euthanizing Tuesday morning since the shelter will be closed for the holidays. Thinking about getting a bunny or guinea pig?? (Adoptathon in Johnstown!)

The weekend of November 21st and 22nd, Starfish To the sea Animal Rescue will be having an adoptathon in an attempt to find quality homes for the animals in our care. Our focus at this event will be our small animals- some of which have been with us for over a year! We need foster and adoptive homes for guinea pigs and rabbits at this time. We will have information on guinea pig and rabbit care and can help you with any questions you may have if you have been considering adding one of these guys to your family.

Making an appearance we may also have our declawed/neutered Van mix cat, Tally or some adoptable dogs, and we'll have tons of animal themed magnets for cars for sale as a fundraiser. We are also selling graphite pet portraits as a fundraiser- interested parties can sign up at the event and the first 5 are guaranteed to be ready in time for Christmas!

We are accepting donations for our small animals: cages (for guinea pigs), dog crates (for bunnies), high quality food, pine chip bedding, newspapers for cage lining, toys, produce (grocery/walmart gift cards accepted!) and other supplies. We will be able to write a receipt for your taxes for any donations either cash or in-kind as we are a registered 501(c)(3) non profit charity.

Please come to PETCO in Richland Town Center, Johnstown on November 21st from 12-3pm or the 22nd from 3-6pm and support our rescue! We fill an important gap in this area being the only rescue that regularly helps small mammals. Without adopters, fosters or supporters, however, we cannot accept new animals- we need you! Our bunnies and guinea pigs are all vetted- the rabbits are even neutered and microchipped! Adoption fees for rabbits are reduced to $25 at this time and guinea pigs are available right now with NO adoption fee. We require an application and a home visit to be sure that you are prepared to add a new member (or two) to your family- our pets are NOT available as Christmas gifts.

I was suppose to get the free Saint Bernard puppy that was in Tyrone.
I talked to the person who had the pup for about an hour or so last night.
When it was time to get their address they could not give one to me.
It said on their add they would meet up to an hour away to give the pup

them in Tyrone so they did not have to give me their address...
Also it said on the ad they were MOVING that was NOT the
reason they gave me AT ALL!!!! They said that the puppy is to much work

6mo old german sheperd/golden retriever mix puppy needs new home. She is very friendly, playful and good with children. She is 40pds now and will most likely get to between 60-80pds fully grown. Looking for good home for lost dog (Ebensburg, Carrolltown, Colver area)

Mr Gibbs was picked up by ebensburg Police as a hit and run dog and taken to a local vet. It has been determined that he was not hit, but has a problem with his front right paw, which is currently being treated. Nobody has called to claim him and we cannot find anyone who is looking for him.

He is estimated to be between 6 and 8 years old and is a collie, lab, possible shepard mix. He is very sweet and lovable, and the vet feels he was probably neglected. most likely tied outside most of his life. They're looking for a home for him. Must be a local home and he must be kept indoors. The vet will neuter him, give him all of his shots, and required care for his leg for free. The only stipulation is he must be kept indoors.

I have met Mr. Gibbs and he is very gentle and sweet, and begs for attention. He would make a nice dog for an older couple. He seems to get along with other animals too. You must e-mail me and I will only respond to local inquiries. By local I mean the Ebensbug, Carrolltown, cresson, colver area.

Large Cat Tree for SALE (Altoona, PA)

Barbie the Rescue Dachshund Needs a Home (PA)

We would like to keep Barbie local so we will only consider the states of PA, NJ or NY for adoption. Barbie wants to be an only dog so she can soak up all the attention that she DIDN"T get when she was in TN with the neglectful owners. Not only did they neglect her health but they broke her spirt. We have that back now and we are looking for the perfect forever home for her.
BIO: Barbie would make a wonderful dog for a retired person. She is very laid back and just happy sleeping away the day in a nice sunny spot. She is fine with other dog and children but prefers to be alone most of the time, this is why I think she would do best with older children and a slower paste home life. She does have some weight to loose and we are working on that. Because she has had 2 hernia operations it very important that she maintains a healthy weight for the rest of her life. Herding Dog needs a home (Hollidaysburg)

Hello all.
I have raised my Catahoula since he was ten weeks old. We have a big backyard, but it's not enough room for him.
He likes to run for hours and hours and has (as his breed indicates) always had herding tendencies.
He is quite literally perfect for a farm. I don't mean one where he's put outside and not cared for...this dog is a mixed bag of tricks (paw, lay down, fetch, look, sit...), kindness, curiosity, and needs a place to be cozy at night.
I would hope for him to have an 'activity' in a larger space, as he is smaller but one hell of a working dog. He is bored indoors quite often and often reverts to trying to herd his sister.
He'd be best with other working dogs or in a single family home. He curls up like a tired little jellybean, monitors the door, has never EVER bitten anyone, and he's just a cool little pup.

I've come to the conclusion that this is best for my little man...he's 2 years old, needs love and needs space, and needs the occasional hot dog in a Kong toy and he's a wonderful fella. He's been housebroken since early in his puppy life. He doesn't eat shoes or your items, except for ripping apart the occasional paper towel.

Treasure the Rescue Dachshund Needs a Home (PA)

Treasure is really coming out of her shell. She's like a totally different dog then when she first came to my home. Treasure is running/playing and wrestling with my dogs/puppies at times and enjoys chewing on her roast beef flavored Nylabone. She still has her moments when she wants to be alone and just sun bathe and take a nap. Other then that she's improving each day and is enjoying all the attention she's getting. Treasure loves her people and follows them everywhere. She enjoys giving kisses (non-stop) and will give love nips every now and than. (But we are working on that) I believe that a home with no children would be best for her. (Due to the LOVE NIPS) She does great around other small dogs and has picked up on barking at strangers. I have a 4-year-old Pacific parrotlet that I need to rehome. When I returned to school to finish my degree, I didn't have much time for him and he became less tame and even aggressive toward me. He needs a patient person who has the time to spend with him and who can tame him down to be the sweet bird I know he is! He has gorgeous plumage and says a few words. Looking for a small dog (East of Pittsburgh)

I am looking for a very small, teacup to toy sized dog of any breed. I grew up always having a dog, and I miss the companionship and security that come along with having a dog. I know such a small dog really does not do much in terms of protection, but I live in a small apartment, and I could not bare to make a larger dog live without having lots of room to run. I am in college, and I know the stigma that accompanies college students buying pets, but I fully understand the responsibilities that having an animal entails. I have no problem with a dog that needs daily grooming, he/she will always get daily walks and plenty of play time, I spoil my animals but have been training dogs, so I know how to make sure my dog is well-behaved. Vet costs are not an issue; however, I will have questions for you concerning the health of the parents, etc. for pre-existing conditions in the family's bloodlines, i.e. heart conditions, eye conditions, breathing, etc. I can't afford the cost of purebred puppies right now, but like I said I have no problem paying small rehoming fees and vets payments.
