Re:Time to tax churches...and others.
Churches are allowed to push social agendas but are not allowed to endorse a political candidate. I have never been in a church that has endorsed a candidate for office. If they do, they would lose their tax exempt status.
That being said...
I'm all for taxing the church as long as we also tax PETA, Greenpeace, Sierra Club, Planned Parenthood and all the other groups that funnel huge amounts of cash and don't contribute to the welfare of the same society that keeps them in "business."
In 2008, The Sierra club took almost $48.5 million dollars in contributions and another $5.8 million in bequests.
They have over $100 million in assets. Their CEO is paid over $260k a year.
In 2007 (latest year available) PETA took in $19.6 million in contributions and another $8.7 million in legacies and bequests.
Thay have over $20 million in assets. Their director is paid over $78k a year.
In 2008, Greenpeace took in $7.02 million in contributions and $1.1 million in grants. They have $28 million in assets.
Their director is paid over $103k a year.
In 2008, Planned Parenthood took in over $30.8 million in foundation, contributions and bequests. They have over $70 million in assets.
Their director is paid $312k a year.
62% of hospitals are non-profit, we should be taxing them too. Oh, and non-profit universities.
Re:Time to tax churches. -
If churches want a say in government, then they need to pay up like we all do.
If you want to play poker, you got to ante up.
Those that attend church pay just like "we all do."
Maybe the churches that run food banks should close them. Maybe the churches that house the homeless should kick them out. Maybe the churches that run womens shelters should shut their doors.
Maybe those those people who eat at church soup kitchens should start coming to your house.
How about it, are you prepared to ante up?
Time to tax churches.
If churches want a say in government, then they need to pay up like we all do.
If you want to play poker, you got to ante up.
Net reduction of $130 billion in federal deficits
WASHINGTON – Congressional budget crunchers said Thurday the Democrats' latest health care plan would hold down federal red ink for at least 20 years, an assessment that gave supporters hope as the Senate moved gingerly toward a historic debate.
The nonpartisan Congressional Budget Office said that Majority Leader Harry Reid's 10-year, $848-billion bill would produce a net reduction of $130 billion in federal deficits in its first decade. Perhaps more significantly, the legislation would continue to give back over the next 10 years and beyond, the budget umpires said, because "added revenues and cost savings would probably be greater" than the cost of covering uninsured Americans.

Here is Republican Dwight Eisenhower bowing to Charles DeGualle of France.
Here is Republican Richard Nixon bowing to Emperor Hirohito (yes, the one who ordered the attack on Pearl Harbor)
And here is Republican George W. Bush holding hands and kissing Saudi King Abdullah.
A Saudi...just like the 19 Saudis who attacked us on 9-11.
Now....you were saying?

So...when SHE says it, it's "responsible leadership"
But when someone ELSE says it...it's a "death panel" ?

You're right; they should always kiss on the lips, no less.
When are you Republitards going to grow up?
Presidents don't bow
Presidents do not bow, period.
RE::Why Palin is a worthless whore. (Far Far Away)
You are talking about two different subjects. Palin, weather she is good for this country or not, was talking about a part of the bill that dictates ending the care of a person who they"", the government director"" feel would not really benefit from further care.Weather they would live much longer or not is irrelevant. What Palin was talking about when she was in office was, the need for people to talk to someone about what would happen to their estate if they died suddenly or were incapable of making decisions themselves. This is two different subjects completely. I'm afraid that you have the same misconception that some others have gotten from CNN and MSNBC. They also tried to combine two different subjects together to confuse the public about what Palin has really said several times.
Why Palin is a worthless whore.
Seems she's a hypocrite like no other.
When Congressman Earl Blumenauer began work on health care reform, he included a provision that would allow Medicare to cover a voluntary doctor-patient discussion (only once every five years) about things like living wills, power of attorney and end-of-life treatment.
Before they were Palinized -- and turned into those nasty death panels ready to pounce on Grandma (that "goofy stuff," as he now calls it), Blumenauer had a good idea: help people prepare for the end of life.
As he wrote last weekend, the proposition was simple: "I found it perverse that Medicare would pay for almost any medical procedure, yet not reimburse doctors for having a thoughtful conversation to prepare patients and families for the delicate, complex and emotionally demanding decisions surrounding the end of life."
Now...if we look back to April, 2008, the then-Alaska governor Palin issued a state proclamation declaring "Healthcare Decisions Day," designed to "raise public awareness about the need to plan ahead for healthcare decisions related to end of life care and medical decision making whenever patients are unable to speak for themselves and encourage the specific use of advance directives to communicate these important healthcare decisions."
Seems like Palin went rogue -- on herself.
Therefore, she is a worthless whore.
"I don’t want socialism in America!!!!""
Then you want health care for veterans repealed because that is socialism, the veterans who no longer work for the military do not pay for it the rest of America does, (BTW I am a veteran.)
You want Medicare repealed, and Medicaid repealed, because both of them are socialism.
You want everyone to pay their full share for building roads and not have the federal government to use any tax payers money for that.
You do not want the federal government using everyone's money to help the airlines fly their planes, that is socialism, the people who fly should pay for it all, not the people who do not fly.
You want the police and fire department privatized, why should I pay for my neighbors house to be saved?
If you do not want socialism then you have a hell of a lot of changes to make to get rid of it here.
Czar nonsense.
Bush had 36 "Czars", and not one single fucking peep from the same lamebrains
who scream bloody murder now that Obama has the same number.

Area Man Passionate Defender Of What He Imagines Constitution To Be
Spurred by an administration he believes to be guilty of numerous transgressions, self-described American patriot Kyle Mortensen, 47, is a vehement defender of ideas he seems to think are enshrined in the U.S. Constitution and principles that brave men have fought and died for solely in his head.
Kyle Mortensen would gladly give his life to protect what he says is the Constitution's very clear stance against birth control.
"Our very way of life is under siege," said Mortensen, whose understanding of the Constitution derives not from a close reading of the document but from talk-show pundits, books by television personalities, and the limitless expanse of his own colorful imagination. "It's time for true Americans to stand up and protect the values that make us who we are."
According to Mortensen—an otherwise mild-mannered husband, father, and small-business owner—the most serious threat to his fanciful version of the 222-year-old Constitution is the attempt by far-left "traitors" to strip it of its religious foundation.
"Right there in the preamble, the authors make their priorities clear: 'one nation under God,'" said Mortensen, attributing to the Constitution a line from the Pledge of Allegiance, which itself did not include any reference to a deity until 1954. "Well, there's a reason they put that right at the top."
"Men like Madison and Jefferson were moved by the ideals of Christianity, and wanted the United States to reflect those values as a Christian nation," continued Mortensen, referring to the "Father of the Constitution," James Madison, considered by many historians to be an atheist, and Thomas Jefferson, an Enlightenment-era thinker who rejected the divinity of Christ and was in France at the time the document was written. "The words on the page speak for themselves."
According to sources who have read the nation's charter, the U.S. Constitution and its 27 amendments do not contain the word "God" or "Christ."
Mortensen said his admiration for the loose assemblage of vague half-notions he calls the Constitution has only grown over time. He believes that each detail he has pulled from thin air—from prohibitions on sodomy and flag-burning, to mandatory crackdowns on immigrants, to the right of citizens not to have their hard-earned income confiscated in the form of taxes—has contributed to making it the best framework for governance "since the Ten Commandments."
"And let's not forget that when the Constitution was ratified it brought freedom to every single American," Mortensen said.
Mortensen's passion for safeguarding the elaborate fantasy world in which his conception of the Constitution resides is greatly respected by his likeminded friends and relatives, many of whom have been known to repeat his unfounded assertions verbatim when angered. Still, some friends and family members remain critical.
"Dad's great, but listening to all that talk radio has put some weird ideas into his head," said daughter Samantha, a freshman at Reed College in Portland, OR. "He believes the Constitution allows the government to torture people and ban gay marriage, yet he doesn't even know that it guarantees universal health care."
Mortensen told reporters that he'll fight until the bitter end for what he roughly supposes the Constitution to be. He acknowledged, however, that it might already be too late to win the battle.
"The freedoms our Founding Fathers spilled their blood for are vanishing before our eyes," Mortensen said. "In under a year, a fascist, socialist regime has turned a proud democracy into a totalitarian state that will soon control every facet of American life."
"Don't just take my word for it," Mortensen added. "Try reading a newspaper or watching the news sometime."

Fox "News" alters footage to fit agenda
"The Daily Show" host Jon Stewart pointed out inconsistencies in alternating "Hannity Show" shots of a recent conservative rally on the steps of the Capitol Building. This has led to accusations of Fox News splicing video footage shot at a larger Glenn Beck rally held in Washington two months ago with video shot at last week's rally, thus falsifying footage to make the more recent protest appear bigger than it was.

Gullible Liberals (all)
I can't believe stupid Liberals believe they can get "free" or even cheaper healthcare! If Doctors keep making the SAME pay, and Lawyers keep SUING the hell out of Hospitals, How in the hell can costs go DOWN? Oh, Obama says he will eliminate fraud from other programs like Medicare.. If the dumb bastard COULD do that, what is he waiting for? Why hasn't he done it yet? And you think the Government (who can't do anything right) will run healthcare cheaper than insurance companies? Have Liberals ever checked what high level Government managers make $$$$? If Obama and Pelosie told Liberals they could make them fly, Stupid Liberals would jump off cliffs to "try" their new PROMISED ability to fly! Oh, you say, Doctors will have to take a pay cut! Yeah, how many people are going to invest 500,000 dollars and 15 or so YEARS of intensive training just so they can make the SAME money as someone with 4 years training? Plus knowing they will have stressful crushing workloads as people using this "promised" system will increase dramatically. (yeah, we already have a Doctor shortage, lets add 50 MILLION more people to the system. That will fix it! )
RE::RE: RE How (Far Far Away)
It is not going to give you or anyone else a choice. Read the bill. It tells you in the bill that everyone will be in the health care that they are going to offer us. I know that it says you will have a choice but think about it. When the government takes over the public health care the insurance companies will be going out of business. They can't compete with what the government will be offering AT FIRST. And I say at first because they have the right to change it anytime they feel the need to.It tells you in the bill that there will be taxes added to big business's to pay for it. The business's around here are going broke now. They pay 35% tax on their corporate income now. And what Polsioe is pushing Thur is going to add another 45% tax on top of that for some. And there are fines that you will have to pay if you don't get ""THEIR" insurance. Which means that if you don't take the government insurance you will pay as much as a 5000 dollar tax for not taking it. It will cut medicare that covers the elderly by 5 billion. That means that the older people who are just making it now. Will be hurting even more.
If this bill goes through and is passed this country will see even higher unemployment and there will be many more companies going over seas. The republicans have offered up to congress several bills that would cut the cost of health care insurance. But because of the democratically controlled congress they have never gotten any where with them.
Quit calling each other Nazi's and cry baby's. And read the bill. It will ruin this country.
RE::Every day (Far Far Away)
Affordable Yes, But what the government is offering now is not. It will cost us more jobs, higher taxes and will cut into medicare. Read what is below and see if you can figure out where it will be free. Taxes on any company making over $500,000.00 a year will be paying 45 percent taxes. What do you think they are going to do. Raise your wages, NO. They are either going to go over seas where they can still make money or they will lay more people off, or just close their doors. The bill that they want right now will just add to the weight that the small companies are carrying now and force them out of business. This is just another step in the Obama/Pelose crusade to ruin America. Neither of them think this country deserves to be what it was and will do what ever they can to destroy it. BUT, they will not be under the new Health Care. Since they have their own now. And both have stated they will be keeping what they have for coverage. Health Care that WE pay for, not them.
Wake up people. These people are out to destroy this country.
Pelosi Bill: 45% Top Tax Rates Coming
Sunday, November 8, 2009 8:14 PM
Article Font Size
If the House healthcare bill becomes law, small businesses and the wealthiest, most productive Americans can expect to pay massive new taxes.
The bill also includes hidden fees and “excise” taxes that will fall heavily on the elderly.
Under the Pelosi bill, citizens reporting income over $500,000 and married couples earning more than $1 million would be slapped with a 5.4% surtax on all income above those thresholds.
The Wall Street Journal notes that “after taking into account the expiration of the Bush tax cuts, those people would face a marginal tax rate of 45%.”
Small businesses will also suffer.
Very small companies – those with payrolls with less than $500,000 – will be exempted, but others will be slammed with new taxes – up to 8% of their payroll – if they don’t offer insurance as dictated by the Pelosi bill.
The Joint Committee on taxation says that the surtaxes will raise $460.5 billion over 10 years, with almost a third of that amount coming from small business.
The Washington-based Americans for Tax Reform outlines other taxes the will result if the Pelosi bill is passed:
Employer Mandate Excise Tax (Page 275): If an employer does not pay 72.5 percent of a single employee’s health premium (65 percent of a family employee), the employer must pay an excise tax equal to 8 percent of average wages. Small employers (measured by payroll size) have smaller payroll tax rates of 0 percent (<$500,000), 2 percent ($500,000-$585,000), 4 percent ($585,000-$670,000), and 6 percent ($670,000-$750,000).
Individual Mandate Surtax (Page 296): If an individual fails to obtain qualifying coverage, he must pay an income surtax equal to the lesser of 2.5 percent of modified adjusted gross income (MAGI) or the average premium. MAGI adds back in the foreign earned income exclusion and municipal bond interest.
Medicine Cabinet Tax (Page 324): Non-prescription medications would no longer be able to be purchased from health savings accounts (HSAs), flexible spending accounts (FSAs), or health reimbursement arrangements (HRAs). Insulin excepted.
Cap on FSAs (Page 325): FSAs would face an annual cap of $2500 (currently uncapped).
Increased Additional Tax on Non-Qualified HSA Distributions (Page 326): Non-qualified distributions from HSAs would face an additional tax of 20 percent (current law is 10 percent). This disadvantages HSAs relative to other tax-free accounts (e.g. IRAs, 401(k)s, 529 plans, etc.)
Denial of Tax Deduction for Employer Health Plans Coordinating with Medicare Part D (Page 327): This would further erode private sector participation in delivery of Medicare services. Managers' amendment delays until 2012
Surtax on Individuals and Small Businesses (Page 336): Imposes an income surtax of 5.4 percent on MAGI over $500,000 ($1 million married filing jointly). MAGI adds back in the itemized deduction for margin loan interest. This would raise the top marginal tax rate in 2011 from 39.6 percent under current law to 45 percent—a new effective top rate.
Excise Tax on Medical Devices (Page 339): Imposes a new excise tax on medical device manufacturers equal to 2.5 percent of the wholesale price. It excludes retail sales and unspecified medical devices sold to the general public.
Corporate 1099-MISC Information Reporting (Page 344): Requires that 1099-MISC forms be issued to corporations as well as persons for trade or business payments. Current law limits to just persons for small business compliance complexity reasons. Also expands reporting to exchanges of property.
Repeal in Worldwide Allocation of Interest (Page 345): Repeals the worldwide allocation of interest, a corporate tax relief provision from the American Jobs Creation Act. Original bill merely delayed for nine years
Limitation on Tax Treaty Benefits for Certain Payments (Page 346): Increases taxes on U.S. employers with overseas operations looking to avoid double taxation of earnings.
Codification of the “Economic Substance Doctrine” (Page 349): Empowers the IRS to disallow a perfectly legal tax deduction or other tax relief merely because the IRS deems that the motive of the taxpayer was not primarily business-related.
Application of “More Likely Than Not” Rule (Page 357): Publicly-traded partnerships and corporations with annual gross receipts in excess of $100 million have raised standards on penalties. If there is a tax underpayment by these taxpayers, they must be able to prove that the estimated tax paid would have more likely than not been sufficient to cover final tax liability.

I simply cannot see any bad about providing affordable health insurance to every American.
We are the best country in the world.
We need to act like it.
RE: RE How
This bill is about choices. You get to choose. Nothing shoved down anyone's throat.
You can keep the insurance you have, or choose a Medicare option, like seniors have.

Shoving anything down anyone's throat is wrong. You lefties make it sound like you're Jesus; healing the sick, and all that. When in fact you're forgetting to mention how it will be mandatory for everyone to have it. You're hiding your pinko intentions behind a good deed. This same thing has failed before, and it will fail again. Get your dipshit head out of the clouds, and have a glass of reality you pinko jackass. You're a dumb assed Kool aid drinking zombie just like your republican counterparts. You follow blindly behind your party and take everything they say like it is the word of God. You sicken me just like all the teabag assholes. You're sheep, plain and simple. Get an education, but first get your head out of your ass. It's the New World Order!
How?
How is providing heath care to 97% of Americans.....giving citizens a bigger choice in health care insurance....
providing for competition (in the tradition of American capitalism).......
How is this a "threat to freedom" like Rep. John Boehner says?

They know they are to present differing opinions, NOT brainwash the reader! The Wall Street Journal is against the Public Option because they know from EXPERIENCE shown in Maine, Hawaii, Massachussetts that the Public Option concept has PROVEN to FAII, FAIL,FAIL! No amount of Democrat LYING can REFUTE these FACTS! . You FALSLY said it was because it would provide competition to insurance companies. (Again, more examples of Democrat lies to suit their story) The Public education level constantly increases. People know horseshit when they see it. Think about that the next time you type so called "fact" that goes AGAINST peoples common sense. Why don't you tell the people how "good" the Public Option concept "worked" in Maine, Hawaii, and Massachusetts? ?????
RE: CBS poll, prime example of poll lies (all)
It was a CBS - Wall Street Journal poll.
The WSJ is widely regarded as one of the most conservative newspapers in America.
They have come out AGAINST a public option, as it would provide too much competition to
to the mega-large health insurance companies.
Now....why would they lie and produce a poll that shows the pubic is against their editorial position?
You really need to think before you type.
Update on Glenn Beck.
He just published a book. It's a children's book. Only has pictures in it. His fans love the book. This is the GOP mind. Simpleminded bastards. Hell, They can't read after the first word. No wonder we can't get any bills passed in Washington.

CBS poll, prime example of poll lies (all)
That CBS poll saying 72 % of the public want a public option. The TRUTH is, 72% or more want healthcare REFORM! The poll is slyly worded to "mean" that the 72% that want healthcare REFORM., also WANT the public option. Any politician who voted AGAINST 72% of the public would soon be an EX-POLITICIAN! Your OWN common sense will tell you that! The TRUTH is, politicians KNOW the REAL facts, and thats why they are afraid to put THEIR NAME on a bill that will get them VOTED OUT the next election. Again, YOUR OWN common sense tells you politicians watch which way the political winds are blowing. Then vote what the polls say is the most popular. If 72% of the people REALLY wanted the public option, they would vote it in tomorrow!

Got some proof? Have some more Beck koolaid and Limbaugh brownies. Typical republicunt. Tell a lie enough times and it becomes the truth. Put the pipe down and try to have an original thought.
Lies About majority want Public option. (all)
If Obama's public option is so wonderful, why is he lying and hiding costs involved? We already have examples of states trying "public option" type healthcare. Look into Maine's FAILED "public option type" healthcare system. Then Massachussetts,. another FAILURE. Hawaii, only lasted 7 MONTHS before it went BROKE. All of these plans were to REDUCE costs. DIDN'T happen in the REAL WORLD! The only people who want the "public option" are people with poor job skills, no education and don't have the brains (or work ethic) to get good jobs with good benefits. These are the people who think there IS a free lunch and they want theirs! Yeah! GIVE me FREE healthcare! Put down your bong and actually read it. You will be required to PURCHASE insurance and ,percentage wise, it will cost more to lower income people, even with the government help. Bottom line, less money for you to fill your bong!
Dick Cheney was right
Dick Cheney once said that "deficits don't matter," which may well have been the most honest phrase he ever uttered. And Republicans who are complaining about Barack Obama's spending are hypocrites.
Of the roughly $11 trillion in federal debt accumulated to date, more than 90 percent can be attributed to the tenure of three presidents: Ronald Reagan, who used to complain constantly about runaway spending; George Herbert Walker Bush, and his son George "Dubya" Bush, whose trillion-dollar war and irresponsible tax cuts accounted for nearly half the entire burden.
Only Bill Clinton temporarily reversed the trend with surpluses and started to pay down the debt by raising rates on the wealthiest taxpayers.
Now the facts;
1. We, the people, began screwing things up decades ago.
2. We can't just "fix it".
3. The economy is not brought down by a particular person, ie; the President.
Let's all remember our high school classes and remember that the economy is based on spending.
NOT the President's spending, the countries spending..our personal spending.
4. Democrat, republican, socialist, green party, whatever, each party thinks their party is the answer to the countries problems. That will never change.
5. Obama is not a "saviour" or whatever the right wants to label him. What he is is a change.
Just as Jesse Ventura was for Minnesota.
6. The news channels are not just telling the news. The money behind each is what slants the news.
Come on people, you know that.
You give 2 different papers the same story to write, and depending on the political bias, the story is going to have that slant on it. And also, in my lifetime, I have never known a news channel or paper to deliver all the news surrounding any one story. It's not gonna happen, folks.
7. And my last comment...I'm so tired of hearing people rant and rave about "if only the President would do this or that" or "I can do a better job, my candidate is better, blah, blah, blah".
Tell me - you really think that job is easy? The stress alone would kill most of you!!!!
RE: RE: RE: Glenn Beck and the GOP (Clearfield)
Well....here is Hannity saying he would agree to be waterboarded.
http://www.politico.com/blogs/michaelcalderone/0409/Olbermann_challenges_Hannity_to_be_waterboarded_.html
And that was...how many months ago?
The only "pussying out like a fag" I see is Sean Hannity.
What a girl.
No joke, boys and girls
My wife is an ER nurse at Conemaugh Hospital.
Over the last 2 days, they have seen 68+ cases of swine flu.
This is not something to be laughed off.
Seems to hit the young and the old really hard.
In fact, my wife said she saw at least 6 who will not make it.
If you can find a vaccine...get one.
RE: Glenn Beck and the GOP (Clearfield)
The only person I've seen "pussying out like a fag" was that illiterate union dirtbag from Clearfield. I hear he's now afraid to go to Tractor Supply because it's too close to the old Kmart.
RE:Typical.
Show me a link that proves one person made both those comments, until then you're just pulling things out of your ass...again
RE: Glenn Beck and the GOP (Clearfield)
Beck is like Hannity.
Remember, Hannity said he would be water-boarded to prove it wasn't torture....and donate money to the troops.
Then he pussied out like a fag.
And never gave any money to the troops.
Fucking wuss.
Typical Republicunt.
All talk. Nothing else.
Typical.
"Government, save us from this flu"
"Government has no place in healthcare"
Which is it, assholes?
Glenn Beck/Cindy Clearfield
Hey Cindy, why don't you challenge Glenn Beck to meet you in the old Kmart parking lot? Maybe this time you could actually show up instead of turning chickenshit.
Glenn Beck and the GOP (Clearfield)
Wasn’t this nut case supposed to unveil what was behind the tarp on Tuesday? But, he changed his mind and said, “Friday I will show what behind the tarp”. Well, Friday came and went. Nothing was shown. As always, Glenn Beck has nothing to back up his lies. This is like the so-called PM and non-union electrician. They both are like Glenn. Can’t prove a word they say.
He claims that Dem. Are calling him, the GOP, and Fox wrong thinkers, dangerous, and cares only for profit. I never heard the White House Administration say those words. It’s again the GOP who wants Americans not to think, but do as they want.
Why are the right wingers so upset? Is it because the Demarcates are getting this country back on track? They have to make up lies to scare the American people so that their party will come alive again. Look at Health Care Reform. It’s a very good plan indeed. But the Republicans don’t want it for one reason. The Health Care Companies are in their pocket books. That’s why. They will lose Millions in funding and the chance to be re-elect is slim. But 2010 is almost here. The GOP will be out. Then and only than will this country become better and stronger.
GOP – Party of “NO” – NO IDEAS, NO INTELLIGENCE, NO GOOD FOR THIS COUNTRY.
Now the American Free Choice Act went up before the House and Senate. Again, the GOP and Fox are out lying about this bill.
Fox hosts keep repeating the falsehood that workers will no longer have access to a secret ballot under EFCA. The legislation does not eliminate the secret ballot. The bill would simply allow workers to choose whether to have a majority sign-up or a normal election process. And as American Rights At Work points out, a secret ballot is no guarantee to a fair election.
There is not one ruling taking away secrete ballots. It will give the unions, employers, and employees certain requirements. But according to Bill O’Reilly, the American Worker(that’s you and me) do not deserve to be paid a fair wage. But the Big Corporations who give us the jobs are the real work horses. These people, meaning CEO, Executives, Board Members, and Fox Employees are entitled to Million Dollar salaries and Bonuses. These people are the back bone of employment opportunities.
The whole GOP, Fox, and the right wingers are out to destroy America.
Nov. 3 is coming up. Get out and Vote. It’s time to rid the GOP and take America back.
Public option favor solidified.
Do you favor or oppose creating a government-administered health insurance option that anyone can purchase to compete with private insurance plans?
Favor - 60
Oppose - 33
Not Sure - 7
This data has moved less than 2% since all the crazies had their little tea parties.

Quite a drop, Republicunts!!!!!
Government screwups AGAIN (all)
The GOVERNMENT said it would have 120 million doses of Flu and H1 flue vaccine in time for the flu season. They are already weeks behind schedule and things don't look good for delivery antime soon. These are the CLOWNS that say they can run an NATIONAL healthcare system? The few doses of H1 flu vaccine that did get used, have been blamed for some deaths already. The government THEMSELVES warn pregnant women should NOT get the vaccine as it has levels of MERCURY that have been shown to cause birth defects! If mercury at these levels are known to cause birth defects, has anyone done a study to show what it does to sprermcells in men and women's eggs cells? Is the mercury in the vaccine causing changes in sperm or eggs that will increase chances for birth defects when they do conceive? Yesterday I couldn't spell Health Czar, today, thanks to Obama, I are one!
RE: Cheney gets his draft-dodging ass kicked!
Amen.
The "cowboy diplomacy" of the Bush era fucked us good.
Bush and Cheney never really cared how many servicemen died, as long as they got their war.

RE: Lowest since 1983
I switched from Republican to Independent after those last 4 disasterous years of Bush.
Christ. What a mess that administration was.
Cheney gets his draft-dodging ass kicked!
"What Vice President Cheney calls dithering, President Obama calls his solemn responsibility to the men and women in uniform and to the American public," White House press secretary Robert Gibbs said.
"I think we've all seen what happens when somebody doesn't take that responsibility seriously."
NICE WORK MR. PRESIDENT!!!!

FANTASTIC news!!!!!!!!!!
RE: RE: Still Waiting
It’s funny. Everything they list as an accomplishment is, in actuality, a failure:
1. Health Care: Democrats believe health care is an entitlement. Entitlement programs erode the independence and freedom of American citizens. Entitlement programs also take away a citizen’s right to choose and make their own decisions. All responsibility is shifted away from individuals, and given to the government.
2. Communications: Remember a while back how the White House set-up an email address so citizens could report fishy information about health care reform? Then, it turned out that the White House was using the information to compile an “enemies list”, and send unsolicited email to people who never asked for it. Also, on September 10, 2009, the Entertainment Industry Foundation posted a press release informing the world that “from October 19-25, more than 60 network TV shows will spotlight the power and personal benefits of service.” In essence, one big free Democrat campaign commercial.
3. Transportation: Recent reports are showing examples of waste and fraud in President Obama’s stimulus program. More than $1 billion has gone to dozens of highly questionable projects at remote airports that didn’t meet the grant criteria and to facilities with a history of mismanaging federal money. The Department of Transportation’s Inspector General says in a recent report that a portion of the money has gone to costly and unnecessary projects that had no business getting emergency federal funding. Among them is a $14 million infusion to replace the airfield in a remote Alaska town of about 650 residents located only 14 nautical miles from the state’s fourth-largest airport. Let’s call these projects what they really are, “Political Pork Pay-Offs”.
4. Education: Prior to President Obama’s September 8, 2009 nationwide address to schoolchildren, teachers were sent study packets and a letter from the Department of Education, complete with assignments and questions to ask their students. Some of the suggested discussion questions teachers are to ask students included: "Does the speech make you want to do anything?" and "Are we able to do what the president is asking of us?" Can you say “indoctrination”?
5. Cars: According to the New York Times and the Wall Street Journal, Steven Rattner, the leader of the Obama administration’s auto task force, was one of the executives involved in an alleged kickback scheme with New York State’s pension fund. Quadrangle Group, the company Rattner co-founded, gave $1.1 million to an associate of the New York State Deputy Comptroller shortly before getting a large investment from the state’s $122 billion pension fund, according to a complaint filed by the Securities and Exchange Commission.
6. Pakistan: During the presidential campaign, Senator Obama repeatedly said he would attack terrorists in Pakistan with or without permission from the Pakistani government. However, on CBS’ Face the Nation”, he said “I haven’t changed my approach” but goes on to say he would only go into Pakistan “after consulting with Pakistan.” This is a major Flip-Flop, and yet the liberal media will not question him on it.
7. Cities: President Obama did a great job getting the 2016 Olympics in Chicago. Oh yeah, remember when they spent $250,000 to fly Air Force One over the Statue of Liberty for a photo-op that sent the population of New York City into a panic? I’m sure that was great for New York City.
8. Engaging the Muslim World: Why does the president have to engage the Muslim world? According to him, the United States is a Muslim nation. In an interview with the French television network, Canal One, President Obama stated, “One of the points I want to make is, is that if you actually took the number of Muslims Americans, we'd be one of the largest Muslim countries in the world.”
9. Forests: The Omnibus Public Land Management Act of 2009 contains plenty of earmarks that stand out for their waste. For instance, $3.5 million in federal funds for the local 450th anniversary celebration of St. Augustine, Florida. Again, “Political Pork pay-Offs.”
10. Tone: Senior White House adviser David Axelrod and deputy chief of staff Jim Messina told senators, concerning this summer’s town hall meetings, “If you get hit, we will punch back twice as hard”.
The Rasmussen Reports daily Presidential Tracking Poll for Thursday, October 22, 2009 shows that 26% of the nation's voters Strongly Approve of the way that Barack Obama is performing his role as President. That’s the lowest level of Strong Approval yet measured for this President. Thirty-nine percent Strongly Disapprove. Fifty percent of Democrats Strongly Approve while 66% of Republicans Strongly Disapprove of his performance. Among those not affiliated with either major political party, 18% Strongly Approve and 42% Strongly Disapprove.
“If you've understood what I've said, stop supporting your destroyers. Don't accept their philosophy. Your destroyers hold you by means of your endurance, your generosity, your innocence, and your love. Don't exhaust yourself to help build the kind of world that you see around you now. In the name of the best within you, don't sacrifice the world to those who will take away your happiness for it.”

There is no doubt Obama as accomplished more in 9 months than Bush did in 8 years.
Thing is, they don't report it on Fox, and I doubt that poster watches any real news.

RE: Still waiting -
Do you live in a cave?
No, do you have anything original and not something you copied from your Google search?
http://news.spreadit.org/obamas-first-100-day-in-office/
Everything you copied and posted was put out to the public by "administration officials", IOW, White House propaganda.
Thanks for proving my point, and that is that you dumb asses can't come up with anything Obama did, you have to do a net search.
RE: Still waiting
Do you live in a cave?
Ok...
1. Health Care: The Obama White House cleared an important hurdle in the health care reform debate when it appropriated $19 billion in the stimulus package to help implement an electronic medical record system. The money is paltry compared to the hundreds of billions set aside for an overhaul of the health care system in the budget. But officials inside and out of the White House, both Republican and Democrat say its significance is hard to overstate.
2. Communications: A presidential campaign built on innovative messaging and advanced technology has, naturally, become a White House defined by similar characteristics. As such, the reach of the administration's new media efforts - from hosting online question-and-answer sessions with the president to publishing the first White House blog - has been as expected as appreciated. It's unfortunate, said one tech savvy Democrat, because the new policies have had tangible impacts. "The White House streams every event with the president on its website, even press events," he said. "It's remarkable because, this Sunday they held a swine flu press conference that ordinary people [including many who may have been personally nervous about the topic] were able to watch online... Before you had to wait for a readout or hope that CSPAN would cover it. This is one of those things that people don't quite understand the significance of."
3. Transportation: Since the passage of the economic stimulus package in mid-February, the Obama Department of Transportation has approved 2,500 highway projects. The movement of stimulus money out the door has been as swift as it has been effective: $9.3 billion has been spent in all 50 states. Touting its impact, DOT officials say 260,000 jobs are expected from this investment. And with competition for contracts fierce, the department is set to approve even more projects than previously envisioned.
4. Education: Maligned for its handling of the financial and banking crises, the Obama Treasury Department has nevertheless implemented policies with real qualitative and quantitative impact on debt-burdened families. Chief among those was a $2,500 tax credit to help offset the cost of tuition (among other expenses) for those seeking a college education. Nearly five million families are expected to save $9 billion, according to Treasury officials.
5. Cars: The automobile industry at the White House and Congress's behest has undergone seismic structural changes, managerial reorganization, and massive cuts in employment. But for all the tough love, the president has put in place the framework for an industry recovery. Perhaps the most significant of steps was to allocate $2 billion in stimulus cash for advanced batteries systems. One high-ranking Hill aide called battery technology "the next big frontier" in the automotive world, adding that if the U.S. could dominate this market it would reclaim its perch as the world's premier car manufacturer.
6. Pakistan: Cognizant of a destabilizing situation in Pakistan, the administration's diplomatic team, with a major assist from Japan, secured $5 billion in aid commitments "to bolster the country's economy and help it fight terror and Islamic radicalism" within the country. The money, as Pakistan observers -- notably Senate Foreign Relations Chairman John Kerry - note, will prove instrumental in bringing the nation away from the brink of failure and increased Taliban control.
7. Cities: More than any prior president, Obama has put a spotlight on America's struggling cities, even creating an office of Urban Policy in the White House. It is the Justice Department, however, that lays claim to one of the most consequential of urban affairs achievements. Through the Recovery Act, DOJ secured $2 billion for Byrne Grants, which funds anti-gang and anti-gun task forces. The money, cut during the Bush years, is expected to have massive ramifications on inner-city crime and violence.
8. Engaging the Muslim World: While certainly discussed, foreign affairs experts insist that Obama's engagement with the Muslim world has been at once remarkable and under-appreciated. From the first interview with Al Arabiya to his Nowruz address to the Iranian people, to his proclamation that "American is not at war with Islam" during an appearance in Turkey, seasoned observers have been routinely impressed. "Through these [statements and interviews]," said one foreign policy hand, "He has been able to dramatically change America's image in that region."
9. Forests: Since taking office, the White House has put under federal protection more than two million acres of wilderness, thousands of miles of river and a host of national trails and parks. The conservation effort - the largest in the last 15 years - came with the stroke of a pen when Obama signed the Omnibus Public Land Management Act of 2009 in late March.
10. Tone: Leaving a meeting at the White House on Tuesday a Republican member of the House of Representatives commented just how impressed she was with the president's manner. "He is so calm," said the member, "and has a great ability to make you feel like you're being respected and listened to."
It is not, necessarily, a unique observation. But among even casual observers, Obama's tone is cited as one of the chief catalysts for his outstanding early poll numbers. "Despite record job loss," said one aide, "there's still hope in America." Indeed, from the beginning of his presidency the percentage of people who believe the nation is headed in the right direction has risen from 19 percent to 42 percent, according to a recent ABC News-Washington Post Poll. Minus that calming influence, these numbers don't exist and neither does the Obama agenda as we know it.
