Sr. Design Engineer (Central Iowa)

A domestic and international manufacturer of innovative, high quality agricuture equipment is in search of a Lead Design Engineer.
ESSENTIAL JOB FUNCTIONS:
• Assist in determining feasibility of design concepts
• Prepare layouts utilizing different approaches in order to aid management in deciding best course of action
• Responsibilities are to create layouts, specifications for new products and evaluate prototype machines.
• Prepare cost analysis in order to determine potential project costs
• Do required calculations to size structural and functional components
• Determine piece part specifications insuring proper fit of all components in projected prototype/product
• Produce individual piece part sketches and models (both in-house and outsourced) in the project
• Communicate effectively with proto shop personnel during prototype building
• Analyze prototype and adjust layouts and models as required before production build cycle begins
• Work with participants in testing programs
• Conduct investigations and process reported current production design problems or desired improvements
• Have proven time management and interpersonal skills to maintain projects on schedule

• Bachelor of Science in Mechanical or Ag Engineering or relevant experience
• SolidWorks experience
• Strong understanding of hydraulic components and circuits
• Good communication skills
• Detail oriented
• Well organized
• Self motivated and a passion for getting things done and innovation
• 5 years plus in the Ag and/or Off road industry
