White door in frame (Ames)

This is a white door, about 31" X 84", hollow core, still in its frame. The frame and door are in good shape, but the trim (on the frame) needs to be replaced.

We have six bags of leaves in our front yard for the taking. They were bagged when dry and contain only leaves, no garden trimmings of any kind, so they would be great for garden mulch or compost.

Curb Alert - carpet, tack strips, twin mattress cover, other items (1426 W 8th St, Nevada)

As we get settled into our house, we are coming up with some more things to pass on to a better home. In the interest of getting our cars in the garage, items are sitting by the curb instead of waiting for people to show up. I will not hold anything, but feel free to email and see if what you are interested in is still here; i will also try to update the listing as things go. We also have a flat-top electric stove for sale in the appliances section, if interested.

On the Curb:

- 2 pieces of older carpet. these both have a lot of wear, and some cuts from closet walls, floor vents, etc, but would be good for a basement, garage corner, etc. smaller piece is dark green, approx. 8ft10in by 12ft8in. larger piece is a medium grey, approx. 11ft7in by 12ft8in.

- a bunch of 4ft tack strips for carpet installation, i believe about 40. picked these up from a fellow freecycler, then ended up not needing them for our carpet projects.

- 3 wooden wall-mount boxes for storing cassette tapes in, stained moderately dark. These will hold a lot of tapes, we just only have CD's so won't use them.

- mattress cover for a twin mattress - would fit a mattress at least 12-14 inches deep. got this on a mattress on free-cycle, decided not to keep the cover. i do NOT believe it is an allergy cover, just intended to keep the mattress clean.

- leather laptop bag/briefcase. This is quite a nice bag with lots of storage in addition to the spot for the computer, but the carrying handle came loose at one end. if you're interested in fixing up the handle, it will probably provide many years good use.

- light sage-colored fabric shower curtain and clear liner, standard tub size. in good condition, we just replaced with a shower door instead.

- box of several horse magazines, including Appaloosa and The Horse Journal and perhaps a few others, not sure of dates other than they are not from the last 2 years.

four large trees a lot of wood!!! (northern ia)

i have four large trees that need to be cut down and removed. it would be enough firewood to get you through this winter and maybe next winter too. it is all free you cut down the trees and haul the wood away. i am a single parent and have no way to remove the trees myself so it's a win win situation this way. thanks!

2 Cats-Please Read (Jewell)

My sister had 2 cats that were her babies. She had to move into a place she could not have them so we have been taking care of them. They HATE our dogs so have been staying in my son's room and won't come out. This is not a good life for them. Please if you are a cat lover you can have them. Sadie and Mazie are their names. Sadie is a very affectionate cat once she is warmed up to. Mazie is a little timid but not mean at all. These cats have never been seperated so I would want them to go to someone that would keep them together. They are fixed and declawed and inside cats of course. They have been taken care of by the Radcliffe Animal Clinic. I would like someone that is an animal lover and takes care of their animals. I would like to know what vet you use so I know they will be taken care of. They also have the electric cat liter box that you can have with them. So it cleans itself you just have to change out the box the waste goes into. Please only serious inquiries and only if you can love them and care for them.

Trees needed to be cut. (Ames)

I have a few trees that need to be cut down. I'm not sure exactly what kind of trees they are. They seem to be just wooded area trees. There also is a pine tree I'd like to get rid of as well. If you have the equipment, willing to do it for free, AND take it for firewood please do! Let me know if your interested. Would like to have these cut, chopped and out of here before snow falls.

Need Band Instruments for Kenya (Ames, IA)

One of my dearest friends is a missionary from Kenya. She ministers all over the world but mainly right now in Kenya and in the USA. She needs all kinds of band instruments for a marching band she's forming in Kenya. She also needs any music you might have for band and finger charts, music stands etc. I will pick up for her in Story, Boone and Northern parts of Polk Co. She will pick up in Polk Co and in counties surrounding Polk Co. My son is a student in Marshalltown CC so if you can meet him at the college, he'll pick up there. He works and goes to school so his schedule is tight but I think one of his teachers will let you leave things for him too. I know many of us who were blessed to have middle class upbringing during a more affluent age have our old instruments hanging around. If you're not giving them to your children or grandchildren or anywhere else please consider us. She is a registered ministry so can give you a receipt for taxes, I believe. I don't have anything to do with that but I can contact her. If by some miracle we get too many, we will contact local county music teachers and see if they have a need. They will not be wasted or sold. Thanks.
