I have had some experience as a nanny and au pair in the last 10 years. Here is a brief description of my experience;
I have been a live in au pair for a family for 1 year. The children were ages 9 months and 3 years old, two girls. My duties were light house work, spending time with the girls, taking them on walks, doing educational things with them, taking the oldest girl to pre school, diaper changing, potty training, and all the joys and necessities of taking care of children.

2004-2007
I have also been a volunteer for my church's children's program on sundays. This was in the USA. For 3 years I was a children's worker. In the program there were 200 children in total.
For 9 months I worked in a nursery with babies (newborn-9 months)
For 3 months I worked with toddlers (10 months-18mnths)
Occasionally I would fill in with the 2 year olds.
And for 9 months I worked with the 3 year olds.
In order to work with the children it required that I had a 5 year background check, CPR certified training. Which I have completed both.

I can tell you first hand that one of the joys in my life is having fun, laughter, being creative, and also having a hard days work. During my days at home I am working as an artist, painting and decorating.

Woman Empowerment program in Nepal (Volunteer for Nepal)

Nepal is a small, beautiful and patriarchal country and predominated by male in all major roles in the society. On the other hand, women have been treated as a factory of producing children and limited them only into household chore. Actually, they have no freedom in the society and education status of woman in Nepal is very low. Nepal is the poorest country and listed into third world country. In Nepal female have no access to education because of conservative social structure. For example, female should not be educated and keep them only in household activities. Moreover, some societies still wouldn’t see positively if girls go to school. As a result, woman has no accessibility to get any job such as government and private. As consequences, ultimately they should fully depend on their family and husband in terms of finance.
By all above mentioned truth which is existed in our Nepali society would excite us to help them by giving some sort of non formal education and income generating as well as awareness building training related to women through volunteering service. We feel that providing education and training to them would increase their education level and uplift their living standard. In addition the concept of society would change gradually. Finally, they shouldn’t rely on their husband and woman in terms of money and can get freedom in family and society too.
Volunteer Responsibilities:
As a volunteer in this program you can teach them regarding social issues such as women non formal education and rights, gender disparity, income generating program, Capacity building and so on. Similarly, volunteers can also teach English language to make them able to understand global woman issues and making woman groups to make them proactive about female program in the community.

The person we plan to select will be a progressive and human-minded individual who wishes to impact society through their unique form of art in more than the aesthetic. The artist(s) should be prepared to create graphic as well as detailed drawn images that express aspects of the literature.

We are a little Irish family living in Amsterdam, and we are looking for a childminder for 3 months. Starting December 3RD .This is to cover our existing childminder who will be away at this time. We are looking for a kind, patient and fun loving person with experience to look after our son named Ronin. He is 18 months old and very smart and funny. He loves music. Help Children with IHF (Jakarta, Indonesia)

The International Humanity Foundation is looking for volunteers to serve our centres in Jakarta, Indonesia, and be friends and teachers to our children. All volunteers participate on one or more of our international task teams such as university relations, photography and child watch. To qualify to serve at a centre, volunteers must complete eight hours of work on one of the teams, and they continue to participate on the team once at the centre. In the rare case where you lack the ability to complete these hours but possess certain trade skills in agriculture, construction or others needed at one of our centres, you may be exempt from these pre-trip hours. If this is the case, be sure to immediately get in contact with the centre director to discuss your situation and possible alternative tasks.

Positions

Cost: IHF is committed to offering an affordable service experience. There is no application fee. Short-term volunteers must pay USD $50 a week for room and board, both very simple and basic. Volunteers not interested in online work but still want to work at a center must pay USD $200 a week. Further expenses including airfare, travel insurance and visas must be covered by your own finances.

I am moving to Amsterdam soon and would like to find a volunteer job helping people and dont really know where to look at. Hopefully you can give me a hand.

I would like to help with different things such as: helping to cook on possible community kitchen (if they exists), help in kitchens for children, helping children from inmigrants or other communities that need so, helping in workshops, artist who need some help for some specific project, photographers, gallerist, etc.

As you can read, not that clear what to do but happy to do!. I guess really depends of what the community can offer.

I am able to work during the weekend and during the nights since I will have a full time work. But really happy to help! I am a early thirties woman from Spain.

Clearly President Obama, who is no less corrupt and brutal than African heads of state from such nations as Somalia which he has vehemently criticized and threatened with military assaults, won the Presidency based on campaign promises of filthy lies. In fact if a physician or businessman lied as consistently about a product such as a multiple vitamin with unsual promises of what it will do for you that physician or businessman would be facing ten or more years in a federal prison for fraud. America's first black President and Attorney General, like their white predecessors before them, have been abusing their positions around the clock to maintain power in such brutal manners that it appears possible they are striving to create a dictatorship in America and may ask the Democratic Party controlled Congress to throw out the two term limit for the Presidency so they can stay in power for life. Obama and his Justice department have been maliciously and sadistically enforcing blacklists of critics of the administrations policies and of people who did not vote for him. Obama and his Justice Department have also been concentrating on character assassination in such cases based on petty matters and bad civil court cases from decades ago instead of moving in reverse for liberal reforms as Obama promised he would do when he was running for President. And around the clock the Obama Justice Department hits the homes of sane social activists and poor people with intense satellite transmitted electromagnetic laser surveillance and dangerous interference without even bothering to fix court orders for such dangerous intrusions into people's lives just as the Bush and Clinton Justice Departments did. Furthermore, the United States remains a "Mental Health Care Killing Fields" under the Obama administration with abosutely no reforms in mental health care laws, attitudes, and practices in the nation as the Obama group of elitists funds the exact same type of psychiatric tyranny as his predecessors did. This all amounts to torture of many people by the Obama administration. The Obama administrastion has shown a cold indifference to even families who have children to raise in such instances. All of these abuses negatively effect the black population across America as seriously as they effect whites, asians, hispanics and others and so it appears America's first Afro-American President is certainly turning out to be a big disappointment for Americans of all races. And these abuses coupled with escalating cost of living variables in the United States is making the nation one of the most horrible and dangerous places in the world to live and raise a family as more and more families go flat broke daily. Help Children in Indonesia with the International Humanity Foundation

The International Humanity Foundation is looking for volunteers to serve our centres in Jakarta, Bali, Aceh and Medan, Indonesia, and be friends and teachers to our children. By bringing together disadvantaged children of Indonesia and volunteers from across the world, there is a learning opportunity for both. As both sides discover more about each other, their lives and their cultures and teach their own friends about this, we hope to create a world of greater understanding and compassion. Unlike our other centers, the one is Bali is not an orphanage but only an education center. No children stay there, but many come for the classes held there.

Work

IHF needs people with all skills. No matter your experience, whether a student or retired professional, IHF needs you. At the centre, volunteers divide their time between playing with and teaching the children and working on international tasks. The centre host English, computer and math classes, and the children often seek tutoring for their homework, all tasks which volunteers take part in.

All volunteers participate on one or more of our international task teams such as university relations, photography and child watch. To qualify to serve at a centre, volunteers must complete eight hours of work on one of the teams, and they continue to participate on the team once at the centre. In the rare case where you lack the ability to complete these hours but possess certain trade skills in agriculture, construction or others needed at one of our centres, you may be exempt from these pre-trip hours. If this is the case, be sure to immediately get in contact with the centre director to discuss your situation and possible alternative tasks.

Qualifications: Volunteers with IHF must speak English fluently and have a great attitude. They must also be mature, responsible, team players, fast learners, flexible and interested in global change through education and service.

Most importantly, our volunteers must have an open heart and a willingness to help others and make a difference!

Mission Statement:

IHF focuses on educating and feeding children who come from the most marginalized and disadvantaged backgrounds. IHF has set up orphanages in Kenya, Indonesia and Thailand. We seek to provide a way for children to get an education that they desperately desire and are not able to receive. By educating and teaching these children that they are significant and competent, we also teach them that everyone has a voice that matters. IHF promotes self-sufficiency in the communities we work in, primarily focusing on the education, nutrition, and care of children. IHF encourages understanding and caring between people of all nations and religions in order to better prepare the leaders of future generations. We believe that by promoting communication and understanding between students from the poorest of the poor and students in America, we will all be better educated by this exchange. We desire for every student in the United States to have communication with students abroad who are different both culturally and sociaeconomically, in order for all students to be educated about the world they live in.

My name is Alison Davies-Bell. My husband John and I moved from Liverpool to Hilversum, Netherlands in August 2000. We made our home here and in September 2007 our son was born. I studied in the UK to work with children completing my N.N.E.B. in 1995. Since then I have had vast and varied experience, in England, I worked as a children’s nanny, a teaching assistant in a primary school working with 4 – 7 year olds, and ran a successful out of school unit for 4 – 11 year olds.

While living in the Netherlands I have worked for 4 years at Nikes’ European Headquarters and for 3 years at the British School of Amsterdam working as a teaching assistant with 3 – 5 year olds.
Since my son was born I have worked from my own home as a childminder (gastouder) I provide English speaking childcare in a fun, stimulating, warm, home from home environment to children from Hilversum and the surrounding areas.

For under 4 year olds this includes full days 08.00 – 18.00 Monday, Tuesday, Thursday and Friday, breakfast, lunch and dinner can be provided by myself if needed.

For school age children I provide after school care 4 days per week 15.00 – 18.00 (excluding Wednesdays) dinner can be provided and cover for teacher training days and school holidays if needed.

I am a registered childminder which enables parents to claim back the childcare allowance.
