Modest studio apartment 2 blocks from UM Stadium (West Side) $625
This is a smallish studio apartment in a (3 unit) house on W. Hoover Street. Size is approximately 400 sq. ft. Utilities are included in the rent, and there is free access to a washer/dryer in the house's communal storage area. One parking spot is included, though street parking is easy to get (as long as it's not a game day!). We are currently sharing internet with the upstairs tenants for $15 a month. The backyard is pretty huge, and has been great for our dogs (though it is not fenced). This is a quiet neighborhood one block west of main street.
The apartment is available whenever. We're not really in a hurry; we could move as soon as December 1st or as late as spring. Our current lease runs through August 24th, and we are hoping to find someone to either sublet, or take over our lease. The latter is preferable, and as an incentive, we would be willing to transfer our security deposit ($937) into your name, so that when you move out of the apartment (assuming no damages have to be charged) you would be able to claim that money. The property is managed by Hillwood PM, and you would need to fill out an application and be approved by them before moving in, whether subletting or leasing.

Central Campus near Union / Winter (E. Madison St./ Central Campus) $475
I have a house available from Jan 2010 till May 2010. Its a fully furnished apartment (with desks, closets, mirrors, bed, lamps, drawers, cabinets, etc) in central campus (2 blocks from the Union). All central campus buildings are within 5-8 minutes walk, and its a 2 min walk to the UM and AATA bus stops. Its a 2 bedroom apt. and you will be sharing it with another guy. The apartment is equipped with dishwasher and everything else. Heat and water is included in the rent. The rent is $475 per month and its probably the cheapest you can get on central campus. Electricity, cable and internet should be another $50. You need to have a look at the place to know how good it is for the money (it usually goes for $700/month).
I took this because of the good location and good deal, but now I want to move somewhere on north campus because all my classes are up there. I am a student myself and before taking this place I looked at a lot of other houses and this is way better than anything else for 475 a month. Its managed by Arch Reality, and they are amazing with maintenance.

I bought a house, and I'm looking to someone to take over the lease to my apartment. Generally, the apartment goes for close to $629 but I was able to get a much lower rent at $519 with the special they were running. I am lowering the price to $500 (I would just give you the cash upfront to make up the difference). This is not a sublet as you would take over the remainder of the lease (until May), but you sign directly with Golfside Lake. I'm moving and it just doesn't make sense for me to still pay on both the apartment and my new mortgage.
It is 650 sq. ft. with absolutely massive closet space, and the apartment is a five minute walk from WCC and down the street from Eastern. I commute in to central campus at Michigan, and it only takes me 10 minutes down Washtenaw. And, it's right on two bus lines. It has central heating and cooling with a dishwasher included. The center has free wi-fi at the clubhouse, two swimming pools, and a 24-hour gym. The lease ends in May with the option to renew. I already moved most of my stuff out, so you can take the place ASAP.
