Indeed, you heard things.

I'm trying to be honest with you and not run game like I have on everyone that I've met since I moved here. Or however long it's been since I stopped listening.

So yes. What you heard is something I believe with all of me. It is a huge part of who I am and you don't want me to/ won't let me tell you why it is I believe it. There are experiences that I've had that have shaped who I am; my philosophy, my perception of time/ space/ science/ language/ culture/ intellectual identity/ sexuality and the only thing you do is tell me that I'm wrong without letting me tell you about them. And I can say these things because I understand things differently than you do.

What's the sense in being disappointed when you won't let me explain myself? You consider yourself to be older/ wiser/ more objective and yet you remain dismissive and unwilling to listen to a dissenting opinion. Which is not to imply that our views are necessarily exclusive of one another, just individual.

It's a long story and I want to share it with you, but maybe you're just too caught up in the follies of your own erudition for it to mean anything. That doesn't mean that I still won't call you up just to talk. Or leave my studies at eleven as you're going to bed just to come see you for a few minutes only to return to my work. I can't stop thinking about you, but I also find myself wondering if you're worth it
