I play Trombone and keyboards, and if you're any good you know how SWEET a Trombone/Tenor Sax combo sounds. We're also looking for other instruments. We're not so much concerned with specific instrumentation as with finding players who like our groove, our style, our wit, our attitude, our . . well you get the idea. Soundtrack needs bands (MI)

The makers of the film ‘Sleep Study’ are looking for local, unsigned bands to add to the soundtrack for their movie.

The film is about six patients who enter Dr. Roberts’ trial drug program ready for a quick buck, and for a good night’s sleep. When they awake they will be forced to fight not only for their lives but for their sanity.

The film is being shot in Michigan with an all Michigan cast and crew.

Hows it going fellow musicians? We are a three piece band consisting of drums and 2 guitars. We are all 20 and very good at our instruments. We do not have egos. We do not feel like this is our band. We are VERY dedicated and will never miss practices. We are looking for other members who are like us and share our dream of playing music. Our ultimate goal is to make it big, but it's NOT about the money. It's about playing in front of thousands of people and getting a huge rush for it. We are looking to form a band with strong influences on Three Days Grace, Breaking Benjamin, and Seether. However, you must understand that while we are making radio friendly songs, we write whatever sounds good, not just radio edits. We have some heavy songs that run along the lines of Avenged Sevenfold, Bullet for my Valentine, and Iron Maiden influences. You must be OK with that, that's all we ask. We are looking for people that are really open minded and aren't just looking to make radio friendly music to get famous. We truly feel like writing what comes to mind and taking it from there, but trust me, it does sound good and I am saying that without ego or bias.

What we need: A bassist and a singer. You should obviously be talented and willing to leave at the drop of a hat. This probably isn't for you if you have a wife and kids, however if you truly believe it won't get in the way, do respond. We aren't against any race or age as long as you are dedicated, drug free, and ready to rock and go on tour.

We have a place to play that has 2 amps and a drum set. It also has a mic, but a singer with a PA is a bonus. We don't have any bass equipment, sorry. Sad As stated above, we are very willing to travel, just hit us up.

(*Note we are from Toledo, but are willing to travel up to an hour away for the right people. We are also willing to pay for those truly talented musicians gas if they have to travel longer than an hour distances. So, don't be discouraged if you live far away)

Our current working song list includes Porcupine Tree, Tool, Kansas, Eric Clapton, Yes, Rush, King's X, Third Eye Blind, The Wallflowers, Pink Floyd, Our Lady Peace, Sun Kil Moon. In general:

- we are open minded
- it's a very comfortable project because it's not the typical bar band
- it's dynamic in the sense that the material continues to evolve

Guitarist looking to collaborate with keyboardist, horns, bassist... (Plymouth/Canton)

I'm a 24 year old guitarist of 8 years looking to collaborate with like minded keyboardist, horn players, and a bassist. Age is not an issue for me. I have a pretty solid theory foundation and have put together a few charts in my time. I'm not the greatest reader, but I communicate with musicians very well.

I'm very interested in creating a funky/jazzy/fusion inspired band, preferably all original. Maybe a few covers to thicken up a set list variation. I wanna make people move and some of the time, I'd want to make them move tastefully. Maybe a little electronica vibe here and there if you're into that. Maybe dare to make it progressive. I'd be interested in either instrumental and voclas, but I think finding the right sound and style is crucial before considering bringing in a vocalist (if need be).

As far as keyboardist, I'm a HUGE Brian Auger fan. His style on the the B3 is too hot to deny, IMO. Also, Chick Corea's work with Return to Forever is very smooth and tasty.

Redford Recording Project (Redford Twp, MI)

The 3B’s is seeking a fourth member. We’re currently a 3 piece classic rock and blues influenced recording project out of Redford.

We’re:
1: lead guitar, bass, and drums.
2: in our late 40’s
3: have written and recorded more than 80 songs and are currently working on our 9th CD.

We are a heavy instrumental group from the Ann Arbor area who have been working on some brutal new material, as well as some covers.

Bassist Looking for Band (Ypsilanti)

I'm 27, relatively new to Ypsilanti, and looking for a project. I have 12 years of playing experience and cut my teeth on gospel, rock, and jazz though I'm interested in much more. More than anything I want to play music that people can move to. Be it full on funk, twisted carnival, or balls out punk, I don't care as long as there's real rhythm! I've been on tours and cut albums that were never printed and all the other stuff. I don't want to go there again. I'd like to play local (S.E. Michigan, N.W. Ohio) shows, get a little cash out of it, and make a run of CDs to sell. I have no intention of "making it big." Music is an incredibly important part of my daily life, not my dream life. As for rehearsal and performance etiquette, I may have a drink during practice but perform stone cold sober. Not 420 friendly. And always remember, bar tenders and sound guys make the world go 'round. Tip them. They deserve it, and you'll get more shows.

Our lead guitarist had to leave the band due to his work schedule, so we are looking to audition a new lead guitarist.

LT and the Groove Theory has been together for awhile. We are a group of seasoned professionals that enjoy playing music and making crowds happy. We have a strong following of fans and have experience playing out together.

I have a fully outfitted band room with nothing but the best equipment money can buy. I am 47, easy going, fun and have been playing on and off for nearly 40 years. 80's ish Cover Band Needs Lead Vocalist (Saline)

We need a high octane, full throttle, balls out lead vocalist that has the skill to know that their voice is their instrument, and the creativity to play their instrument as we play ours. A front man, or woman, with so much charisma on stage that Axl and Bret both would not be worthy!. We want the solution to the personality, skill, and commitment equation; with personality compatibility being paramount. The type of music we do is very demanding of a lead vocalist and front man...or woman, and we expect that you would know if you are capable of performing at the level the music requires. We do not want you to simply perform a karaoke contest. Rather, our missing element will add their own creative insight to every song, while preserving the core elements of that song. We know what the original recording artist can do. Now show us what you have that the original artist does not. That is the person that is right for us. Although the genre itself has a lot of vocal screaming, we want the well rounded vocalist that can sing the material, not scream it as a karaoke singer would. Although, "screaming" may be warranted and you should throw it in where you feel it belongs. And do so with style!

We are an established 80's harder rock/hair metal, with some older and newer material in our repertoire, cover band. The older and newer material we do is done in a way that remains true to the 80's metal era. Safe to say we spruce things up a bit. We have very active lives outside of the band, i.e. day jobs and families, and therefore are NOT into it, dare I say, "to make it big." We are together because of our passion for music and the out right blast we have while playing/performing together. Therefore, we take the music, ergo the band, very seriously. We check our egos at the door and bring an open mind to the studio for each rehearsal. The rehearsal atmosphere is very laid back and easy going, and we make each rehearsal an absolute blast. Each of us has the typical musician sense of humor and are consummate jokers. If rehearsal isn't a blast, if a show isn't a blast, it just ain't productive. If the band isn't having fun, the band isn't entertaining!

We have professional gear. Although, that statement in and of itself, is my favorite craigslist cliche. Our gear, PA included that really is top shelf though, is all high end equipment that can only be appreciated in person. The PA FX racks are a lead vocalists wet dream, courtesy of Eventide 7000 Pro Series and TC Helicon; just to give you a very small taste. We are not a garage band. The current members have all "been there and done that" in our individual music experiences, as we all have extensive and diverse backgrounds. Age and gender...yes, we are an EMOB, Equal Musician Opportunity Band, (we may not get much done, but damn do we have fun watching and listening to each other as each of us "spruces things up a bit"), isn't as important a factor as personality, character, commitment, skill, and entertainingmentability; yes it's one word that I just made up, but you can feel free to use it after signing a waiver, and writing the definition, and the phonetic breakdown for the word. Hey, it's only fair that I be able to pronounce the word correctly again. Our ages vary from the mid-30's through the mid-ish 40's. If you have what it takes, so long as you are legal to enter bars after 9pm and are willing to listen to, and learn from our own experiences, you'll be in like Flynn.

We are not a karaoke contest type band either. Hence, we do not put on a karaoke show, insofar as we don't blindly perform our material as though a CD were playing in the PA. Milli Vanilli ruined that possibility for everybody.We do not tolerate drugs, period! Alcohol consumption must be kept to a minimum at any band function. We are demanding of each other, but are pretty laid back in doing so. Essentially, because communication is paramount, we know what each of us expects from one another, and we simply do it.

The band is a five piece with you being the fifth member. We have a rhythm guitar, a lead guitar, bass, and drums. We don't have room for keys, acoustic guitar, or another rhythm/lead guitar in our band. Our guitarists are more than capable of handling all of the guitar work. Sorry, too many bad experiences. Oh the horrors.

experienced Musician...Looking to Form a band (Ann Arbor/ Ypsilanti)

Hi there, I am a female vocalist, I also play a bit of guitar (I sport an acoustic number). My music is folk/ rock in influence. About me…. I was in a band in Southern California until recently (August). My drummer and bass player were deployed, so I came home to Michigan for school. I would ideally like to put together a band… that is willing to travel (obviously, a lot of work will have to be put in first). The band I was in was great, but was a classic rock cover band. We all had original music, but that wasn’t paying any bills. I enjoy a good cover, now and again, but I would really love to find some truly TALENTED musicians (who are NOT ego-maniacs) to rock out some original work with. I have a ton of songs of my own, and would love to collaborate and make them awesome, and would love to meet like-minded people who want their music to be heard as well.

Ideally I will be moving back to southern California by May, but if I find “the right people” i.e. not in the military (or not active or going to be deployed any time soon) I would love to tour the states and play out in as many cities as possible and keep it going until it ends… if we mesh, hopefully we could keep it going for a long-long time. Big ambitions I suppose, but if you are ALSO ambitious, goal-oriented, and can bring something to the table (even if you don’t write music) I would love to meet up and see what could become of this. Over the last four years The Ragbirds have performed over 500
shows in 28 states around the country and have also appeared
at some of the largest music festivals in the mid-west, including
Rothbury, 10,000 Lakes, Summer Camp, Wheatland, Blissfest,
Hookahville, and many more. In May '09 The Ragbirds took their first
international tour to Japan,

This transition comes at a very busy time in our career, our
tour schedule is packed with shows and we have just released
our third studio album, "Finally Almost Ready". We are moving
at a fast pace towards exciting things and we need to find
someone to jump aboard with skill and enthusiasm, ready for a
full time commitment.

Guitar Player Wanted (Jazz/Rockabilly/Swing/all points in between) (Pinckney)

I am an Upright Bass Player looking for a Rockabilly-ish band or a Guitar Player. I am 22 years old and have 8 years of experience gigging and performing professional now for 4 years. I am a music teacher and a full time college student looking for a group to make some money and have some fun.

I say Rockabilly-ish because I love roots music but I can’t label myself as 1 genre. I need variety and I desire to be challenged to stretch myself as a musician. We might do “Flyin Saucer Rock n Roll” then jump into “Free Ride” by Edgar Winter then Stray Cat Strut and Then California Sun. ITS ALL GOOD!

I am not looking for a classic rock group… There’s no punch line here (Seriously) But I am also not looking for Traditional Rockabilly Either.

I have originals and I sing Tenor. I love doing backups too! I am very easy to work with I have a Great P.A. a Travel Trailer and I am itching to get playing again. My last group ended after 3 years (good run)
