hi-
on my way home last night at about 10.30 the car in front of me hit a black and white kitty on pontiac trail. the car didn't stop so i got out to check on the cat. sadly, he was dead. i pulled him off the road and into the easement. he had no collar so i can't contact the owners but if you happen to stumble on this post please know that your cat died very quickly. he jumped out in a very dark part of the street and the car couldn't avoid him.
i am so sorry. he was a beautiful kitty.

Wonderful German Shep Mix Needs a Re-Home (Ann Arbor Area)

Unfortunately, we need to find a new home for our dog Gabe. Our need to re-home Gabe has nothing to do with his demeanor or behavior. He is a wonderful dog, but our life circumstances have changed. He is 1yr 2-3 month old German Shepard mix. He is super smart, really sweet, leash trained, house trained, crate trained and an AMAZING Frisbee dog. He is still a little young, and a bit of a puppy still, but I know he will grow into a GREAT dog with the right home.

I have two kennels outside for outdoor dogs and I have 2 dogs of my own and 2 cats. Dogs need to be good with other dogs for pet sitting. $10-$15 a day. Thanksgiving and Christmas specials available. Dog training is also $10 a day or $150 for 3 weeks of training. Dog obedience includes socialization, sit, down, stay, heel. Anything else just ask. He loves to run around at the park and he come when hes called or when u whistle. But he needs someone with the time to deal with how hyper he is. Bonded pair of Sugar Gliders (Ann Arbor, MI)

We have a bonded pair of Sugar gliders (Spike and Tink) that are in need of a new home. We got them with the intention of adding them to our other pair of gliders and making a colony of 4. While our original set of gliders were open to the idea and were very curious of the new kids the Spike and Tink never took to our original pair or us for that matter. They really need to be the lone gliders in their house. They are not happy with us or with our other gliders and have not bonded to anyone.

We don’t want to see these 2 go to someone who doesn’t have experience with gliders as they need to have a home that they will be well cared for.

They are currently on BML with Fruits and Veggies. They come with a cage, sleeping cube, bonding pouch, food kitchen and some other toys. I’ll also provide the BML recipe and some BML cubes to get things going. They have had one set of twins and everyone is still “intact”.

Please let us know if your interested. We want to find them a wonderful home.

Their cage is not a bad size for them but I do have a larger cage that I would be willing to sell to whoever gets these two. It’s a mesh reptarium that is approx. 24X24X60.

There is a rehoming fee that is negotiable for the right home.

Flea Problem (Whitmore Lake)

here's the deal, Our neighbors next door had a horrendous flea problem this summer, which spread to several neighboring apartments, ours included. We also had cats at the time, and that didn't help. We tried bombing, flea powder, flea sprays, flea baths for the animals, ended up getting rid of the cats after 2 non-stop months of flea infestations and also due to the fact that I am pregnant. This was about 4 months ago. Yet, we STILL HAVE FLEAS! we have no animals, there have been no animals in our home for four months, there is nothing for the fleas to feed on (except, of course, my son and my husband, whom the fleas happen to love). I can't deal with this anymore, how do we get rid of the fleas?

Re:Retriever PLEASE RECONSIDER (Ypsi)

Please reconsider getting rid of your golden retriever after you have had him for 8 years..Our dog is 12 and doesn't do much but we love him and he is a member of our family. Are there some medical issues now with this dog and you need to "rehome him" Please reconsider how this old dog will deal without you. Just my opinion.

Looking for Petsitting Advice

Hello all,

I recently adopted 2 kitties for whom I need to find petsitters during the Thanksgiving holiday. I have managed to find friends who are willing to come for Wednesday, potentially Thursday, and Saturday. I will be back Sunday afternoon.

I am a new cat owner and am worried about leaving the 2 guys alone for potentially Thursday and Friday. Does anyone have experience leaving cats alone for more than a day at a time? Is it an absolutely terrible idea? I am planning on investing in a large feeder to make sure they have their dry food, but I'm not sure what other steps to take. Any advice would be appreciated! Thank you!

I have two male intack bunnies that need a new home I got them for the kids and they have lost interest. They are both very friendly and spend most of there time out of the cage running around the house with our dogs and cats. So they are very friendly and love attention. Three kittens showed up at our house about 10 days ago. They have been wormed, treated with Revolution (for ear mites, worms, etc.) One is solid black and looks like a miniature panther. Another is a white and tabby mix. The last is the youngest and is solid gray. All are friendly, playful, litter box trained and like dogs. I am asking for a $15 fee each, which is refundable (call for info. - (517) 486-4492). They must go to good, permanent homes and I prefer that they be kept indoors and receive proper veterinary care. The 2 that are together have always been together and we like to keep it that way, one is a lop eared, brown and white and the other is a lion head...they are very cute. The other one is a white with black mini rex, she is so soft and beautiful. These rabbits have lived inside at our house. If you have a good home for either the 2 or the 1 rabbit please let us know. I know that this is a long shot but I have to try. A few months ago, a female Rottweiler named Jasmine was rehomed on Craig list, I believe to the Ann Arbor/Ypsilanti area. My boyfriend and I were extremely attached to her and she was given away behind our backs. We just came home one Sunday and she was gone, given away by one of his family members. We were devastated. Had we known this was going to happen we would have gotten her out of there. We haven’t been able to stop thinking about her. I picked her out as a puppy, and loved her unconditionally. She will be 2yrs old next March.I just need to know that whoever has her loves her as much as I do, unfortunatly this world isnt all that pretty all the time. This is why I need to know. I need to know what happened to her and would love to have peace of mind. I cant stop thinking about her and this is my last hope. I would love to have her back although I know that’s probably not possible, but if you have her, could you please allow us to come see her. I just need to know she is in a good place. I never wanted to loose her but I need to know that she is safe and happy. It is my responsability.

Need a good barn cat? (Southeast MI)

My cat is very well behaved but is unhappy in our small apartment. He is relatively aggressive when playing, and has maintained his hunting instincts well into adulthood. He has all of his claws and is neutered. He is also particularly large for a house cat. I feel that he would be much happier in an outdoor rural setting, particularly one where he could hunt small rodents and insects.

I was just rescued from a crowded shelter. Everyone kept overlooking me--I have dark fur and it made it hard for people to see me in the cage. I am an absolute LOVE BUG! I cannot get enough! I will let you hold me any which way and will even let you scratch my belly! I have a cute little white belly too! I will lay on your lap... Special needs cat (Ypsi)

I understand that you are very busy and are thinking about rehoming your cat..but I would ask you to reconsider because really with your cat I am sure she is settled into your place right now and to have her go to another home would be more stressful to her..Cats really don't need alot of attention..a window to look out of at the birds and bugs,litter box,scratching posts or pads, catnip mice and a few toys..my cats sleep most of the day and a night I hear them playing around..,maybe there is a neighbor or friend that could look in on your cat..and they require a lot less care that a dog..and it might help you too to come home to your cat and play a little or just pet the cat for a little while..stress reliever...Just my opinion..don't mean to offend.

Chance is a mostly black with some white Border Collie and Pit mix. He is medium-sized weighing about 46 pounds. We estimate his birth date to be around 7/2006. Chance was turned in to us as a stray. He is a high-energy dog that would benefit from some training and may be a good agility dog.. He may be okay around some dogs but seems to interested in chasing cats. Due to his stray history and the fact that he is so exuberant, we would like to find an adult home or one with teen-agers for Chance. He also requires some form of containment for outdoor time. I need to find a home for my 5 yr old female tiger cat. She is special needs because she is so shy & jumpy & she must eat a special food (Iams Digestive Care) or she will throw up. She has never bit or attacked anyone, the most she does is hiss when she is scared, which is often. She is 100% litter trained, never had a problem with that. She is also spayed & front declawed. I love her to death but just can't deal with the stress of a cat right now because I work & am in college full time. I know the chances of me finding a good person to care for her are slim to none, but I have to try everything before I just give her to a shelter or the humane society. She is good with other animals once she warms up to them. I've been giving her a liquid vitamin B supplement for her stressful personality, which has really seemed to help, she's a lot more social now. I would love to find someone with a quiet, laid back home to give her to. Please e-mail if you can help, you'd be a life saver.

Unfortunately, the amazing cat I shared with my then-fiance was agreed to be given to him after we went our separate ways. I've never NOT had a cat my household, ever since I was young, and it's time I found a companion completely of my own. I'm searching for a kitten, not a cat, because I enjoy raising my felines a certain way & prefer to enjoy my companion in all stages of his / her life. I'm specifically looking for a kitten with blue eyes and short fur, perhaps some sort of Burmese mix. Essentially, coat color does not matter as long as the eyes are blue. It has always been a small aesthetic dream of mine :]

I do not want a purebred whatsoever. I want a kitten that has been abandoned by either its mother or owners, perhaps a kitten that a good samaritan has found & rescued, and is either asking a very small rehoming fee or none at at all. I'd prefer it if he/she was around 8 weeks (2 months), and would love to be sent photos, etc. :] The kitten will be indoors only, until I graduate and am able to purchase a home & have a safe outdoor environment for my companion to roam around in.
