FISC Consumer Credit Counseling Service, a program of Goodwill NCW, has a full-time Financial Counselor opening focusing primarily on housing counseling and education. The Counselor will analyze financial situations, recommend alternatives, teach credit and money management skills, work with creditors and referral agencies, and conduct workshops and presentations. Must have the ability to complete NFCC counselor certification within 6 months of hire.
Successful candidates will have previous experience in the housing industry; especially loss mitigation, purchasing and reverse mortgages. Other counseling experience and extensive personal finance knowledge as well as in-depth knowledge of personal finance, money management, understanding of budgets/financial statements, and alternatives available to individuals and families with large outstanding debts preferred. A four-year college degree is recommended, but not necessary.
