So I love how everyone on Craigslist seems to have an opinion but not a name. At least I can say I stand up for what I believe in and I'm adult enough to not bash people and sign what I post. That being said, it's time to bring up some harsh truths. Truth number one, the gentleman who posted about having 40+ years in the business, I say after 40 years in the business that makes you around 60 years old. I'm going to go ahead and say there are only 3 agents and 1 blues guitar player that I would care what they think or say about this. Besides at 60 years old, dont you have something better to do than sit on Craigslist?

Next, I thought the pictures of me were cute, but you forgot to put up the ones where I'm playing in front of large audiences. Something Jon Bosk (the gentleman who put up the original Hog Heaven post) and would know nothing about.

Next, I'm going to answer the part where someone said, how would I feel if I got shorted. Guess what? After 6 years of playing live, I have been shorted a few times. I've played empty rooms, where the club made no money. Now the option you have at that point is to give the club a break or hold them over a barrell "a deal is a deal." I have always chosen to give the club a break, come back to that room in the future and hopefully do better and make my money up on the other end. But that's just me, and as it was put "I know nothing about this business."

Someone said, stop trying to make yourself look important, when all you deal with is a bunch of crappy cover bands. First off, where do you get off? You don't like to make money and play for large crowds? Truth be told the first three years I was in this business, I chose to only work for original bands, but then I realized it's a complete waiste of time to play originals in the Fox Cities. If you're in an orignal band, my advice to you, is go tour, see the US, while living in a van, eating ramen noodles if you want. But don't call cover bands crappy, because guess what? Any jerk off can throw three power chords and some crappy lyrics on a cd and say they have musical integrity. Also p.s. I'm in an original band, that has sold well over 10k copies.

Let's talk about Jon Bosk for a minute. Because I will gaurantee all of the posts are him and the only three friends he has. The truth about Jon Bosk is that he has either been fired from or the bands he has been in have fallen apart, because they are so worthless, no one will book them. Example Dirty Lixx. Now how he got in Cadillac Tramp, I will actually never understand. Believe it or not, I actually think the guys from Cadillac Tramp other than him, are a decent bunch of guys. Also, I'm sure the reason Mr. Bosk didn't sign his posts is because he knew no one would take him seriously that knows him, because he is a joke.

Jump on Craigslist, bash a few people, then bash a few clubs and don't put your name on it, because you realize everyone will know what a retard you are.

To answer the staff getting shorted at Hog Heaven. If that's true, then why do they still work there? I know all of the staff farely well at Hog Heaven and nobody has left in the last 2 months, so again why didn't they quit if they are getting shorted? Also, again as I said in my first post, if this club doesn't pay their bills or their employees, why isn't there any judgements on WI clerk of courts.com? Not that I'm a realist or anything, but you even said you have no proof of any of this, so again the stupidity that happens on these posts, never ceases to amaze me.

I've been in this business for 10 years and can't think of one club or band that has ever fired me or refused to work with me. The reality is, whether you like me or not, I will always have a job in this scene, because I'm good at what I do and I see all sides of the equation. Not just the band side.

A douchebag and a homo? Wow the intelligence of some people and the professionalism of some of the musicians that hang out on Craigslist never ceases to amaze me. Call me all the names you want and hide behind your keyboard, so no one knows who you are. Spout off some more stupidity and go to your job at Hardees tomorrow with a smile on your face. While I make some calls, book some bands and then go to Hog Heaven and have a few drinks with some of the coolest people I know. Then come on Craigslist tomorrow and post that you're looking for a band, because chances are, that you are retarded enought that no one will hire you, so you will probably spend the rest of your life making fun of people on Craigslist while I'm out playing shows. Have a nice day stupid.

You know, a few people have said, I wont be going to Hog Heaven anytime soon, but since they didn't sign their post, we probably wont miss them. This will be my last post on this subject due to the fact that it's a complete waiste of time. Hog Heaven is not going to lose any business because a couple of whiney little bitches bash them on Craigslist. The truth to this is, 90% of the people that are reading this are unemployed musicians. And when you put out a post calling someone a homo or a douchebag or bash a business without putting your name on it anyone with any intelligence knows you're an idiot. And besides that I have this feeling the majority of the people reading this will stop in at Hog Heaven just to see what the commotion is, so p.s. Thanks for the business :) My friends over at Hog Heaven appreciate it. Truth is, Hog Heaven is going to be one of the areas best live music venues and like I said, I'm really good at what I do. That's why I don't have to go to Hardees tomorrow.

For those of you, that are on Craigslist actually looking for a band or doing something productive, I apologize for all this BS drama. To those of you that answered in emails, thanks for being curtious especially the guy who sent me a resume. I already forwarded it to Aaron.

One last thought, what we do in most cases is a business partnership between four parties, agent, band, buyer and production company. In any partnership the right way to do business is to try to make sure that all parties make money. Which means when there is a lack of money all four parties should be willing to give. On shows that I have been shorted on in the past, in some cases the production company gave the band a break, in some cases the agent gave the band a break and in some cases this helped us as a band cut the club a break. In those situations everyone walked away pretty happy. No one likes to get shorted money, but in reality, in any business, if you hold the other party over a barrell for an agreement enough times you will put that person out of business. Which in this case means one less room for bands to play in or on the other side of that arguement clubs in general will become pay to play, like many other cities in the US. I think in a lot of cases a lot of musicians in this area are spoiled due to the fact that they don't realize how good we have it here. There are bands in this scene making $4,000.00 in bars, there are also bands that have been playing less than one year that are making $800.00 a night consistantly. Show me how many other areas, even in Wisconsin, that that happens. There aren't many. Just food for thought. I feel like I'm rambling now and it is 5am. I look forward to all the hate posts that this post will bring. Have fun call me a few more names. Probably think of a few more clubs that you can bash, then go watch some internet porn, because we know that's all you can get.

Rhythm Guitarist??? (Musicians)

I've been playing for about 7 yrs, I'm not a shredmaster, so leads aren't my strong point.
I don't care for covers there not my strong point. some of my influences in playing are anywhere
from AC/DC, ACCEPT, DIO to SLAYER, BOLTHROWER,and any breakdown chug as heavy as you can
get crunch!! I have A Peavy Triple XXX, with a Marshall 1/2 stack. So being in your face loud isn't a issue.

Drum Corps Style Drumming (Fond du Lac)

I'm just in the beginning stages, and I'm looking for anyone with experience, past or present, who has interest in joining my grass roots effort to start up an old school, corps style, drum line.

I heard from a bartender that even THEY are getting shorted.....i don't know exactly how many times, but aparrently these people must not know how to run a business...I wouldn't even trust going there anymore, who knows if they would overcharge for drinks or something to make up for their business losses, not saying that would happen but it could be a possibility...I also heard through a friend that Black Label Promotions pulled all their bands out due to shorting their bands pay...again i have no proof of this or anything but they know Black Label very well so I don't know why they would make something like this up. Anyway

Chad Konrad should learn how to run a business before getting into a mess like this, I wouldn't go there...if they don't even pay their own employees.

This one is quite simple. I Have been in business for over 40 years, I have been playing in bars for over 35 years. Did they or did they not agree to pay the money. I have never hired a contractor that I did not check out first. Sorry for there mistake, but it is THERE mistake. I am not saying the band did not suck, I really don't know. As far as not having agent fees, well to me that just common sense. I have lost money on jobs and I sucked it up because I screwed up. Welcome to the real world. Welcome to reality. Welcome to business owners that think they can get away with just about anything. If they have a contract, then great, they go to court and they will get the money, no doubt about that. If they don,t a little harder to prove. (Buyer beware) . Bottom line is this, if they did not get paid because the bar didn't make the money. Too bad. Pay up and shut up. If you have all these big time bands coming in, I pretty sure there not stupid enough to play there without a contract. Since I know quite a few of them personally, I can guarantee that. Of course they don't get screwed. Bottom line is this, in your own admission, they did nor pay the band the money they were owed. End of story! I guess if you want to play there get a contract. If they don't want to sign a contract don't play there. Pretty simple. If they don't want to sign a contract, then I would run. There are plenty of places to play, and usually that means they leave the door open to screw you. Again pretty simple. Caveat Emptier ( Buyer beware) As a musician, dealing with a bar with an admission of guilt, I am going to stay away! Everyone else, make up your own mine!

Wow. I am at a loss for words. First off, Chad Konrad is quite the douchebag. Quit trying to act as if you're someone important while dealing with a bunch of shitty cover bands. The main thing is that Hog Heaven agreed to pay 600 dollars and then cheated the band. Your breakdown of what the bar made that night shows nothing but your ignorance of how running a business really works. I suppose that if you were in said band, you would have been fine with the reason as to why you got paid 50% of what you were supposed to? Please. Name dropping other bands that have played there doesn't really help your cause. The band played, they should get paid. Go blow smoke up someone else's ass. I am glad I don't play in that bar or any other bar you are associated with.

Pop Punk/ Indie/ Alt Band looking for members (Fox Cities)

I'm currently trying to get a band started that will write and play music that falls into the Pop Punk, Indie, Alt Rock, Power Pop, Punk catagories, but of course is not limited to.

I'm 19 years old, and can play the Guitar, Bass, Drums and also Sing, and I am pretty expiernced in playing with bands and writing music. I also have all my own gear. I will play any insturment depending on the other memebers I find, however I would really like to play the Guitar or Drums for this band in particular. All positions are open, I am also totally open to having both Male and Female members.

My Influences, and hopfuly the Bands influences are: Saves The Day, Paramore, Alkaline Trio, Say Anything, Social Distortion, Bad Religion, Anberlin, Taking Back Sunday, Armor For Sleep, Jimmy Eat World, Failure, Death Cab For Cutie, Blink-182, Foo Fighters, The Almost.

I'm really trying to stay away from the Cookie Cutter Pop Punk that seems to be really popular theses days (All Time Low, The Maine, ect)

I think that's bullshit. An agreement is an agreement. If you, as a bar owner, agree to hire a band for $600 dollars and they show up and play as agreed upon then guess what? You OWE them $600. It's as simple as that. A bad night for a bar is not an excuse to stiff the band! Suppose the bar had a killer night and made $10,000 would they be obligated to pay the band more then the agreed upon fee? Nope. Being in business is tuff, but if you want to stay in business you honor your obligations. I won't be going to Hog Heaven any time soon!

Hog Heaven (Appleton)

OK first I would like to answer the Beware Of Hog Heaven Post. A lot of you that are reading this probably know me from the band Blend Seven, The Starrs, from a club I ran called Riders Saloon in Kimberly or the booking agency called New Revolutions Entertainment, or maybe you just know me from when I managed Hindsight Band or from running sound at EPS or Onstage Audio. Whatever the case may be. the post you read about Hog Heaven is by a band Called Cadillac Tramp. Funny thing about that post is that I have been doing business with Aaron from Hog for some time now and I only know of one band that has ever been shorted by them and its Cadillac Tramp. So my question to all of you that are in this business is at what point is the band accountable? Here is a short break down of the day in question at Hog Heaven.


They got paid (100%) of what was made in the bar from open to close. $300.00 Now you do the math on what Hog lost for the day.
25% Cost to generate (Product cost) $75.00
$10.00 pr. hour for 12 hrs. (Bartender) $120.00
$10.00 pr. hour for 11 hrs. (Cook/ Bar Back) $110.00
Now not figuring in taxes, utilities, Ascap/BMI Fees or the booze they drank for free that night. we already lost $305.00. Where Cadillac Tramp has no agent fee and no real production cost. So as a 4 piece band plus 2 helpers you profited $50.00 per guy less gas money. So you tell me who lost their ass that day.

I would love to know what other business you are in that as a sub contractor you can loose money for the buyer and expect to get paid. Hog Heaven did pay 50% of what was agreed upon.
Also for those of you that are questioning weather Hog Heaven pays their bills or not its really easy to find out, search Hog Heaven LLC on WI Clerk Of Courts and look for judgments pending. Also for those of you that are new to this. This is a really great way to decide if a room you are looking to play at is a good room or not (Free Advice From Me!) and I'm going to go a step beyond that today. In Dec. we will be starting an open jam, Karaoke, Dj for Ladies Night. and an original band show case night. plus live music every weekend.

I'm a Drummer/Vocalist, who used to play in various rock bands in the mid 80's to about the mid 90's. Lots of good times & good gigs with about 12 years of stage experience. Well, I've got the itch again to do some playing. I'm sick of playing along to media player! I have a very nice place to practice and a small PA system set & ready to go and am looking for experienced Bass & Lead/Rhythm guitar players, preferably who can sing, with similar interests. "O Wretched Man" is a brutal Christian synth drivin' metal band and is currently looking for a bassist and possibly another guitarist. Right now we have vocals, drums, guitar, and keyboard. We are hoping for a drummer with a double bass kit with possible influences from Dave Lombardo, Mike Portnoy, Gene Hoglan, etc. Doesnt have to be a shredder on the drums just needs to be able to kick the double bass, create beats to go along with riffs, fills, etc.

Singer Info:

We are hoping for a singer who has a pretty broad range of highs and lows, possible influences are Warrell Dane, King Diamond, Robert Halford, etc. Are style is for clean vocalists who can sing the highs. Please be a good lyric writer if you respond.


Lyric style: Hopefully ones with meaning/opinion on topics. Cool made up/no meaning songs are o.k too but ones with meaning and a stance on particular things are greatly prefered.

Looking to put together a Show! (Fox Valley)

Looking to put together about 1 1/2 to 2 hours... all original music mixed with other forms of art... all coming together to tell one story. I play the piano and sing, but I'm looking for a few talented artists: musicians, painters, dancers, actors, electronic artists.... artists of any kind.... To come together and make this happen! Not typical.

The goal: To have a 1 1/2 to 2 hour SHOW that we can perform at various venues.

This is completely experimental. I have a strong theatre background and have been playing and writing music for over 20 years. I have been playing professionally (and singing) for nearly 8 years. I've played in a band and solo... but I'm very interested in putting together something different. I've been running an entertainment company for the past two years and have a lot of excellent connections throughout the midwest and other areas (california, colorado). If all goes well, I would like to continue with a different "story line" once this one is complete.

If you're in it for money... this may not be for you. If you're someone that requires hours and hours of group practice... this is not for you. I'd like to have rehearsal about once a week, but the majority of rehearsal needs to be independant. I would LOVE a group of people that have "out-of-the-box" ideas to bring to the table. If successful, there would be money in the future (pending shows booked). If you're interested in taking your talent to a new, unique level... and already have a means for income.... this may be something that's right for you!

I am a guitarist, I'm 19 and have been playing for about 10 years. I also play the Drums, Bass and do vocals but I plan on playing guitar for this band. So that being said, I am looking for a Drummer,Bass player a second Guitarist and a Vocalist.

Expectations:

Drummer: Should be able to play songs preformed by the bands listed above. Must have good Double Bass peddle controal and is capable of playing Blast Beats and the like.

Guitarist: Should be able to play songs preformed by the bands listed above (you dont have to be able to play it perfectly, as long as you can keep up) Also should be able to have creativity in writing guitar parts.

Bassist: Same as before, should be able to play songs preformed by the bands listed above. As well as having writing ability.

Vocalists: As long as you have your vocal style worked out, Im open to anything so lets hear it.

Note: Dont worry about knowing alot of music theory or not, just come play and have a good time.

If you fit the criteria feel free to email me. I'm not looking for absolute perfection, everyone will get better the more they play. So all I ask is that you can at least handal some techinical playing, Ill be happy to jam with you!
