Sr Electronics Manufacturing Process Engineer (Cleveland, NC)

Hersey Meters an integral part of the Mueller Water Products, Inc. family, is currently seeking to fill the Senior Electronics Manufacturing Process Engineer position, located in Cleveland, NC.
As Senior Electronics Manufacturing Process Engineer, you will lead and implement manufacturing of next generation electronics for automatic meter reading equipment and infrastructure. This position will work within a highly collaborative team ensuring that all project commitments are met with a high commitment to quality. This position requires an extensive background in high volume / low cost manufacturing, with some experience in circuit design, board layout and firmware coding. The preferred candidate will have demonstrated solid technical abilities with RF communications technologies, power management skills utilizing low power / long life batteries, creative troubleshooting using 6-Sigma methodologies, and a desire to advance their career with increasing technical responsibilities.
REQUIRED QUALIFICATION for this position include; a Bachelor’s Degree in Electrical or Electronics Engineering (Master’s Degree Preferred) and 5 years experience in electronics manufacturing. Candidate MUST be able to travel internationally and have proven ability to interact and communicate daily with remote manufacturing and design sites. Desired qualifications include; 7 years of experience in electronics and firmware design, proficiency in layout and simulation software, experience in electronic component selection and certification for use, experience in defining and implementing system interfaces, and experience with agency certifications such as UL, FCCC, etc..Hersey Meters believes the most important asset in Hersey's continued success is its people

Solar Estimator/ Purchaser (Asheville)

Fast Growing Renewable Energy Company seeks multi-talented, self-starting Purchaser/ Estimator to add to its staff. The currently defined duties, subject to change as company grows, include:

Purchasing

• Negotiate pricing to maximize quality of purchases and effectiveness of company’s monies
• Accurately order necessary construction job materials as instructed and requested by project managers
• Negotiate and set up credit accounts with favorable terms and limits
• Develop and implement central system of tracking open purchase orders and shipments
• Work closely with scheduler and warehouse manager to determine appropriate and timely arrival of materials
Estimating

• Prepares electrical, mechanical and roofing budgets costs of materials, labor, and use of equipment required to fulfill all provisions of the contract.
• Consult with clients, architects, subcontractors, and material suppliers to discuss and formulate estimates, effect cost reductions, and resolve issues.
• Review subcontractor’s bids, scope of work, quantities and pricing.
• Incorporate and analyze actual cost data into historical database and reporting

Skills Required

• Bachelors degree in business, construction management, or related experience
• Ability to integrate project bill of materials, labor productivity estimates and material / subcontractor quotes into a single project estimation model.
• Experience with Microsoft Office Suite, with emphasis on Excel.
• Strong organizational skills to manage revisions of cost models and ensure accurate and timely updates are completed.

Engineer, Maintenance 4 (Canton, NC)

Provide leadership and management of all maintenance, technical and human rsource functions in the paper manufacturing areas that will insure safe, reliable, and cost effective operations.

Specific Responsibilities:
Ensure all sfety policies and practices are implemented across the paper manufacturing areas. Maintain high levels of accountability with subordinates for full compliance of safety actions, training or policy changes that will support attainment of safety goals for the department. Actively participate in a leadership role in attainment of safety goals identified for the mill.
Develop, implement or maintain effective maintenance practices that provide high levels of equipment runability and efficiency. Monitor preventive maintenance practices, outage planning, contract service effectiveness, and scheduled work execution that attains operating plan targets.
Monitor and analyze all maintenance spending for paper manufacturing area. Develop yearly budget for the paper manufacturing area that supports asset reliability while maintaining cost control. Communicate with and involve area management in monthly maintenance spending goals, variances, and contingency plans that support adherence to approved budgets.
Direct or oversees any modifications to equipment or systems that would improve reliability or cost effectiveness of paper manufacturing area.
Develop plans for personal growth and improved job performance for all salary employees under direct area of responsibility.
Be knowledgeable of and participate in resolving company/union disputes as related to the Maintenance Department.
Develop long-term strategies for paper manufacturing maintenance organization to align with future goals of operations.

Essential:
BA/BS degree in mechanical, electrical or related field
Ten years experience in paper manufacturing
Five years experience in management supervision
Five years experience in maintenance/engineering

Desired:
Two years proven experience as maintenance superintendent in paper manufacturing
