The city has opened it's doors to a Women's league this year (in addition to the men's) and the SEASON STARTS SOON! We need as many teams and players as we can get (ALL SKILL LEVELS, ages 16+), so please help SPREAD THE WORD!!! The team registration deadline is at the end of the week, so everyone who wants to play needs to find a team, register, and pay before then. The more players the better, it doesn't matter how long it's been since you last played.

We are a loving family who have much experience with children of all ages. We still feel like we have alot of love, happiness, time, experience and energy left to offer. One of us was adopted also and we feel like that will give us added insight in the matter. we also want to give something back. We have also home-schooled and loved the entire experience and are looking forward to doing it all again. We are hoping to adopt a baby, toddler or young sibling group.

We have gone through all the state requirements for a state adoption including the home study, the FBI Background check, the Parenting Classes, the First-Aid Classes and much more. We just didn't like our experience going through the state so we decided to try for an independent adoption using just our attorney for the paperwork. We are just hoping to connect with someone that needs us as much as we want them.

We have a great home on several acres with farm animals and a swimming pool. We also live in a beautiful, small, safe, family oriented community that has been a wonderful place to raise a family. We are just waiting to share all of this plus our love and experience with more children.

There are so many more things that we'd like to say here about our family but it would take up far too much space and time. We are familiar with all stages of raising children and we STILL love it. Team captains needed for Adult Women's Basketball teams (Asheville)

The city of Asheville is hosting a women's basketball league this year, and we need more women who want to be the head contact person/captain for teams. There are plenty of people who want to play, but not enough teams formed yet to put them on. The city asks that there be 1 head contact person (i.e. leader/captain) in order for a team to be formed. Even if you don't know anyone else that want to play, you can still start a team and be the captain --there is a list of players wanting to play, waiting for a team.

Young industrious couple needs a place to stay Sunday and Monday night (trades anyone?)

We are coming in to Asheville on Sunday night and we need a place today, the state of the economy has taken its toll on us. Discovery Studios, the internal production company for all of the Discovery-owned channels, is producing a series of hour-long documentary style shows about hoarding, which will air on TLC. We are currently recruiting people who would like to participate.

Adult WOMEN'S BASKETBALL league -season starts soon!!! (Asheville)

Yes, it's true...finally a women's basketbal league in Asheville!!!! The city is opening it's doors to a women's league this year, and the SEASON STARTS SOON!
We need as many teams and players as we can get (Adults age 18+, ALL SKILL LEVELS), so please help SPREAD THE WORD!!!

Info and captains meeting is tomorrow, Thursday Nov 5th, 7pm, at the Asheville athletics office.
Team registration DEADLINE is mid-Nov!
Games start the 1st week of Dec (games played on weeknight, day TBD)

I'm doing this on a voluntary basis, but feel free to contact me if you have any questions or would like to play but don't have a team. If you think you know enough people to form a team on your own that would be fantastic -please let me know if this is the case so I can keep track of how many teams to expect.

Local Guys Moving... Name Change (Western NC)

I am placing this announcement in the hopes of reaching previous customers that we have moved in the past. We are a locally run small moving company that has been doing household moving in the surrounding area for over 12 years. the name we have used for the past 12 years had been "Truck & 2 Guys Moving". We began our business delivering antiques for many of the antiques stores in the Asheville area. Gaining lots of knowledge and experience handling antiques. From there we began moving households for people who collected many antiques. And as a result of this, started gaining customers based on referrals. Moving 'Sally' and she referred us to 'Aunt Sue'. Our business flourished based on referrals from previous customers. After gaing experience in household moving, we began placing ads in the local and surrounding area phonebooks. Our business grew as a result of placing those ads. We gained a reputation for being personable, caring, taking pride in our customers and there household belongings. Word of mouth and advertising helped us to grow in our business. Just within the past year a much larger moving company moved into the Fletcher area bearing a very similar name as our old name. That company moved into the area and began its operation. That company is a franchise of a much larger corporation. The man who runs the local franchise is a good man with good intentions for running a successful business in the area. The reason for placing this ad is, that compnay came into the area and began trying to weed out all of the small guys. As a result of the similarity of our two names, this larger franchise proceeded to take us 'little guys' to federal court. Suing us for our business name(which we incorparated just 2 years ago), our phone number that we had advertised in the local phonebooks(828.712.MOVE(6683)), and anything with our old name and old number on it. In order for us to fight this lawsuit, it required a large amount of cash to obtain an attorney to "fight" the lawsuit. Again the reason for taking us to court was the similarity of our names and the confusion that people began to have with the names. People began calling his new business asking for Bruce or myself. Or stating that we had moved them a couple of years ago. I think this angered them upon starting up their business. As it was confusing to us as well. As a result of not being able to abtain an attorney to fight this local francise, the large coporation succeeded in winning the lawsuit. Forcing us to no longer us our old name and shutting down our old phone number. It has been devastating to our small moving business. As we have had to obtain a new number and rename our small moving business. If you or anyone you know may have used our moving services in the past, it would be a great honor to have you notify them of this change. My name is Clete and my partners name is Bruce. Many people know us as Bruce & Clete. We have recently began using the name "Local Guys Moving" and we have two telephone numbers. They are 828.713.1999 and 828.712.6684. As a result of the effect of this larger company and the downward spiraling economy, our business has slowed. Placing ads and advertising has become difficult in effort to get our new name out. Again our name that we have chosen to use is "Local Guys Moving". Please, if you read this and know of anyone moving or anyone who may have used our services in the past, please inform them of this situation.
