Start preparing for baseball season now! I'm forming a schedule for the winter lesson session. I have worked with players from 8 to 18+ and have 21 years of baseball experience (18 playing/3 coaching). Lessons are held at the Diamond Mine Baseball Academy located right outside downtown Biltmore. All sessions are designed to be fun and focus on teaching basic mechanics of the proper swing as well as a successful mental approach. Typical format is one lesson a week for 8 weeks. Each lesson will come with "homework" that must be done before the next visit. We teach the B.E.S.T. hitting system at the Diamond Mine and are averaging an 8 MPH increase in bat speed! I am a professional musician who has resided in the Asheville area and been active in the Asheville acoustic music scene for over eight years. I love playing the banjo and I’d like to help spread the tradition.
I have experience teaching a variety of people from younger children to teens to adults; whether you are just learning what a banjo is, or if you would like to step up your level or personalize your style, I can guide you through the process of learning to play the banjo.
I can teach traditional or progressive three finger banjo styles with jazz and blues influences as well as Scruggs, melodic and single string styles. I have also taught a number of banjo workshops in Colorado and Wyoming. I like to work with my students to make sure that the lesson plans and instruction are student-centered and always interesting and fun.
I have been playing the banjo for 10 years, and I have been the banjo player for a professional internationally touring band (Town Mountain) for 4 years. Town Mountain is a well-known hard-driving, roots bluegrass band that plays their own original songs as well as bluegrass classics. Our most recent album “Heroes & Heretics” has been listed on The Roots Music Review national air-play chart as high as #18.

Calculus for child (Asheville)
In order to prepare a somewhat fictional account, I want videotape tutoring of a student as young as possible in calculus. To prepare for calculus, we will need to cover algebra and trigonometry. I am a former university mathematics teacher and author, and I have had success working with exceptional children.

I've taken the exam 4 times, I have to say that failing is not a good feeling. The first time I failed, it hurt, I did everything except give up. The first time you take the exam is the time when you have the most confidence in passing. It is your first time taking it; and, you have studied all night, days, weeks, and even months.You've actually boast to your friends, and told them when you were going to take the exam, and, that you were sure that you would pass it. You have made plans as to all the things that you would do when you get your licenses. Every time a friend see you, you discuss getting those Electrical Licenses. Some of you have actually taken Electrical Installation & Maintenance Courses in Jr. College, but, this doesn't make it easier for you to pass the Electrical Exam. On the other hand; if you are the type person, that choose to keep things to your self, and chose not to let anyone know when you even plan to take the exam; the majority of the time this person will not take the exam again, or, will re-take the exam after a long period of time. By then I will take even longer to pass it. I can't promise that you will pass the exam the first time that you take but, I can promise that you will only take it 2 times!! One on one guitar lessons for children ages 7-14.
If you have never even picked up a guitar, your child/young teen will learn how to play guitar from the bottom up.
My name is Johnny Schulte. I am a 26 year old Coolege of Charleston music theory major and getting a fine arts degree at AB tech this semester. After which I tend to get a music production major from UNC. I recently moved here from Charleston, SC where I had this business and taught more than twenty students how to play.
The principle of the program is based on a six month learning process. The student will learn guitar from the bottom up, even if they have never held one. i have guitars to use if the student would just like to try it out and not make the commitment of purchasing a new guitar (although if they are, a beginners acoustic guitar is ideal.)
If the student has some experience I can pick up from there and further teach guitar and music theory skills.
The program covers all major, minor and other necessary chords. Tuning, positioning and handling an instrument. All the way up to reading and writing music. Students will be taught how to songwrite as well. This includes arrangement and the process of songwriting.
Each student is looked at differently. Although we follow a certain plan, the instructor will adapt to the pupils learning style and teach the best way the student learns. Some students learn hands on, some memorization, and some through visual techniques. Most importantly we have fun. The student will have the oppurtunity to express him/herself and learn their favorite songs, write songs, or just learn the basic principles. ALL beginner skills will be covered and the student will enjoy coming to lessons. Fun homework assignments will be given each week to assure practicing and progress.
I and my instructors teach in East Asheville and in some circumstances can come to the students house if neccesary. Parents are more than welcome to sit in, and students are more than welcome to stay after lessons if the parent needs some time to committ to personall activities.
Basic vocal and keyboard lessons can be added into the lesson for no extra charge at the request of parent or pupil. At the lesson site all instruments, learning materials, and kid friendly space is provided. At the end of the six months the student will be able to record their own personally written song.
Lessons are 30$ for one hour and 20$ for a half hour to 45 minute session. Driving to locations will be an additional charge (gas money) as well as watching children after lessons-5$ a half hour. I am a certified babysitter as well.
If your child wants a fun experience and is interested in learning the power of music and songwriting with a guitar, keyboard, or vocal this is the perfect program.
