Summary of duties and responsibilities:
To clean and maintain all animal areas in a cost effective, sanitary, and humane manner. To provide daily care, comfort and enrichment for all canine/feline guests at Paw Pleasers Pet Resort. Be able to handle dogs of all sizes without being afraid of them and without allowing them to control you. To provide friendly, timely, and reassuring customer service to every client either by phone or in person.

General duties (include but are not limited to):

• Clean and sanitize assigned areas including kennels, floors, walls, yards, training and exercise areas, laundry, and kitchen
• Feed, medicate and observe animals
• Employee is to be well versed in common dog behavior
• Be familiar with Paw Pleasers vaccine requirements
• Communicate maintenance needs to kennel manager
• To help maintain and update client records
• To work collaboratively with all personnel to achieve an efficient, well-run, environment for the animals and employees
• Able to accept constructive feedback and follow directions.
• To maintain a safe work environment
• Walk pets to exercise areas on site
• Provide each pet with a continuous supply of fresh water
• Record accurate information on the status, activities, and behavior of each pet
• Report any health, behavior, or safety concerns to the manager
• Booking boarding or daycare reservations and grooming appointments
• Checking guests in and putting all their belongings into inventory
• Checking out guests, confirming they have all their belongings and are signed out
• Collecting payment for services cash, credit cards, or checks
• Be able to perform light grooming (bathing, brushing, nail clipping, ear cleaning)
• Giving clients tours of the facility and answering any questions they may have
• Assisting in the supervision of daycare playgroups

Qualifications

• A passion for animals and animal care, especially dogs and cats
• Previous experience providing care for dogs or cats (animal clinic, animal shelter)
• Physically able to secure and handle large dogs
• Physically able to handle facility maintenance and cleaning duties
• Ability to lift 50lbs
• Effective communication skills
• Dependability and reliability in performance of all duties
• Good attendance and punctuality record with previous employers
• Good work ethic and willingness to follow direction
• Basic computer knowledge
• Ability to work with minimal supervision
• Good Attention to detail
• Ability to work weekends and holidays
• Good multitasking ability
