Attractive, Athetic Women needed for Life-Modeling work (Downtown Athens)

Fringe Collective Artistic Studios is seeking attractive, athletic, “FEMALE” Life-Models for Life-Drawing and Life-Referencing work.

Fringe Collective Artistic Studios located at 159 North Jackson St. in downtown Athens, is seeking attractive, athletic, “FEMALE” Life-Models (ages 18 to 50), for Life-Drawing and Life-Referencing work. These are ongoing projects that rely on talented, reliable, energetic, enthusiastic, and committed models to do the job.

We are particularly interested in hiring women with background experience in dance (e.g. ballet, belly dancing, or cheerleading), fitness (e.g. aerobics, yoga or tai chi), or athletics (e.g. cycling, swimming, or gymnastics). These women are generally, conditioned for strength, easy to choreograph, and have poise, form, and grace, that translate well into Life-Modeling work. If you do not have such background experience but are eager to try, and willing to learn, we would still like to hear from you.

Please note* - The Life-Models we employ must be comfortable and confident in their own skin, take posing instructions easily, and display qualities of personality and appearance that translate well into Life-Modeling work.

Session Types:

Life-Drawing Session (2hr. 10min.) – Life-Models will pose for a group of Artists. A Model Coordinator will be present at these sessions and is responsible for orchestrating all session activities. Life-Drawing sessions are held each Thursday (starting at 6:00 pm) and comprise of two one-hour segments divided by a 10-minute intermission. Life-Drawing pays $20 per session.

Life-Referencing Session (2hr. 10 min.) – Life-Models will pose for a photographer. Life-Referencing sessions comprise of two one-hour segments divided by a 10-minute intermission. Life-Referencing provides visual reference materials to Artists. Life-Referencing pays $20 to $30 per session, depending on experience and how well the Life-Model presents at her interview / audition.

Combined Session (3hr. 20min.) – Life-Models will spend the first hour posing for a Photographer, and the last two hours posing for a group of Artists. Each hour is divided by a 10-minute intermission. Combined work pays $30 to $35 per session, depending on experience and how well the Life-Model presents at her interview / audition.

All Life-Models hired must be willing to work in both, Life-Drawing, and Life-Referencing projects.

Because of the nature of this type of work, all Life-Models seeking work must produce documentation proving they are at least 18 years of age.

Successful candidates must be in good physical condition, well groomed, and practice proper hygiene. If tattoos are present they must be minimal and in good taste. If piercings are present they must be removed prior to each session.

Life-Models wishing more work than we can provide may request to be included in our Life-Model Registry Listing, This is a resource used by local Artists, Art Organizations, and Educational Institutions, as a resource for hiring Life-Models. Inclusion is by release only.

We work with many Life-Models, and we take pride in creating a safe and comfortable work environment for them. Our studios are clean, comfortable, and well lit. Our staff is courteous and professional. We are also members of the Athens Art Association, and support art programs at the University of Georgia and surrounding community.

Each combined interview / audition will take approximately an hour. Be prepared for audition photographs to be taken at this time. These are used in assessing the performance and marketability of each new candidate.
