Growing up on a small farm in Iowa, Roger Johnson developed a love of landscape and the old houses he saw. At age 10, he began painting these scenes, and went on to earn an MFA from Drake University in Des Moines, Iowa after studying art at Central College in Pella. He then spent several years in Europe studying the Old Masters and took classes in the US including with Richard Schmid. He moved to Colorado and paints small-historic mountain villages and adobes in New Mexico.
This piece was created in 1980 and is a wonderful example of his style, but done in the painstaking medium of colored pencil. You won’t find these for sale since Roger concentrates on the use of oil on canvas now. The image and wonderful portrayal of light and shadow speaks for itself. This is protected by a mat and would be protected by foam core and plywood for shipping.
Roger is represented at Adagio Galleries in Palm Desert, CA, Arcature Fine Arts in Palm Beach, FL, and Manitou Galleries in Sante Fe, NM.

I have 67 large & small spoils of thread, this is older thread but I pulled on the thread and it seems to be in good condition. It is large spoils must be made for a large sewing machine some spoils have 6000 yards on it. I bought it with some sewing things and never used it.

There are 3 hardback books, "Crafting with Lace", "Martha's Attic", "Stunning Stitches", over 12 cards with lace plus lots of loose lace, some stating that it was handmade in France for $10.00 per yard, embroidery hoops, wooden craft pieces, clothespins, alphabet blocks, etc., a rug hook, a collar pattern, a few fall pieces. There will be booths featuring crafts and collectibles, as well as food and games. 1116 Mountain Creek Church Road, Pendergrass, 30567 (from Athens, go out Prince Avenue/Jefferson Road/Highway 129N, hang a left on Main St./GA-332, left on Old Gainesville Hwy, and right on Mountain Creek Church Rd.)
