I am a UGA graduate student and am looking to buy a home for under 135,000 dollars (Preferably a good deal below this). I know this is the "rental property wanted" section but I am just wondering if there are any folks with a nice house they have been renting that they have been thinking of selling. I am particularly interested in old homes (even if they need a bit of work) not townhomes or duplexes that are within 4 or so miles from the UGA campus as I am a bicyclist. I'm pretty handy, I swear it :)

The way I see it, in exchange for a reasonable amount of chores being completed, I can live in that extra bedroom for free. We'd work out arrangements about common areas and things like that.

I've actually never done this type of situation before, though I've certainly kept a home for myself and know how to keep it clean. I have many phone numbers of people who could vouch for my honesty, trust-worthiness and work-ethic.

Also, as I said, I can cook too. So if that's something you'd be interested in, we could definitely discuss the dynamics of that.

I'm really open to discussing the arrangements of it all with anyone who is interested. I'm a really friendly guy and am pretty unintrusive. I'd just really like to find a situation where money is not such a necessity, so I can focus more on writing and other things I'm interested in.

Young professionals want out of apartment life

We are a young professional married couple with pets looking for a rental house next summer. We have been living in the same apartment for almost four years and are getting too old for the college crowd surrounding us. Sublet sought Nov 1 (Downtown/Nearby)

Hi: I'm moving to Athens in one week and would like to find a sublet for either one or two months from that time - furnished preffered, but not necessary. I'm 30, laid back guy, straight if that matters...easy to get along with, etc. I'm also certainly open to roommate situations. I'd prefer to be downtown or in five points, or at least somewhere close by.

Need fixer-uper home for my family (Northeast GA)

I need a home for my family. I am 32 years old out of work painter, my wife is a student, and also out of work right now, she actually has had to postpone her education also. We have filed for unemployment benefits after exhaustive searches for work (we are still looking, she is an medical administration student, I am a painter and general maintenance worker, we are both quite creative and are actually starting our own business based on an invention that I came up with, but lack capitol, I am also starting to take photography jobs) to no avail, as of yet.
We have two young children our son is three years old and our daughter is one year old, they're both great kids and generally quite.

I am looking to exchange work for rent for the first two or three months, I can paint, repair drywall, do minor electrical and plumbing repairs, wood working repairs inside and out, flooring and sub-flooring, resurfacing cabinetry, and pretty much any other repairs and maintenance, including lawn maintenance, I would also be more than happy to do your family or business photography or work as an assistant, or second shooter for free.
Even if I can just get the security deposit and first month's rent waived, I'd be willing to continue working on the property and paying rent somewhere in the range of $300 per month or less after the first two or three months, I'd also continue the work.

We are a nice family and do not drink or party, we like quite peacefulness and treasure moments that we can spend together. I would really love to find anything, we are staying with my parents right now and we really just need a place, any place will do, we just need to move from here and give my folks their living room back.
