Multi-instrumentalist Songwriter Looking to Start Something (Athens)

My calender has recently opened back up and I am looking to get a new band together. I love music, but I am a busy person, so practices would probably be mixed between acoustic writing and sundays/random weekdays at Nuci's. As far as influences, I'm kind of all over the board, but I'd really like to do something more electronic/indie oriented along the lines of Of Montreal, MGMT, Passion Pit, etc.

I play guitar mainly, but am more than capable on Bass and pretty well versed on playing set. I write a lot of songs with acoustic structures and would like to find people to help expand them. I'm not looking for a set type of group, so if you are interested and play guitar or bass or sing or can produce your own beats and dj them live with a mixer or a macbook, or really whatever then please contact me. Ska Band needs players

Hi, my name is Allen.
I live in Commerce, Ga in Jackson County Near Banks Crossing and Tanger Outlet Mall.
I play guitar and keyboard at home and I am looking for other musicians to jam with and learn from and mutually to teach and share what I know.
I play many styles and I am open to learning all different types of music styles.

My gear:
I own a Yamaha DJX synth/keyboard and a Roland KC-500 keyboard combo-amplifier with 1 X 15 speaker.
I also have a strat-style electric guitar and a Crate 120W guitar combo-amp with 2 X 12 speakers in perfect condition.
I use a Boss Metal Zone pedal for fuzz and heavy distortion.
Lastly, I own and play a 12-string acoustic guitar which I mostly have stringed up as a basic 6-string with the option to expand.
I have a MICrophone and a Korg electronic guitar tuner as well to ensure that I am always playing in tune.

I have been playing guitar close to 20 years and I am only self-taught as I have never had any formal lessons.
I have never been in a band but have occasionally, in the past, jammed with close friends.
Recently, I have become more serious about learning more and I would love to collaborate with any local musicians who desire the same.
Even if you are just a beginner, I would still be interested in playing together.
I believe I have great potential to learn and I am very patient and easy-going and would enjoy teaching someone what I know so far.

I am 38 years old, married with kids. Occasional (rare) drinker, non-smoker, No drugs.
We own a home in a quiet cookie-cutter neighborhood off of HWY 441 in Commerce 30529, north of Jefferson on I-85 and I can either jam at home with you or I can travel to you if it is not too far.
I have a GMC van that is ideal for hauling gear and equipment.

I like metal, blues, pop, rock, jazz, funk, flamenco, classical, soul, R&B, indie, alternative, etc.
I love playing drums and/or bass guitar but hardly ever get a chance to do so.

My name is Ben and I'm 21 years old. I play guitar, bass, banjo, mandolin, little bit of keys, and I'm working on the violin. I've been playing music since I was about 6 years old. Picked up guitar at 9. I can sing well and I can harmonize. I've been playing shows since I was 14 and have been playing around athens with a few bands since I started college three years ago. I've recorded on a few albums, including Orenda Fink's "Ask the Night" on saddle creek records. I know it cliche, but I like all types of music, except country. I've played everything from rock to bluegrass to dark-indie-jazz. My big influences are radiohead, the avett brothers, new pornographers, phoenix, zeppelin, alberta cross, ryan adams, SRV, and fleet foxes. My biggest influences in terms of my songwriting and singing are Weezer, Elvis Costello, Elliott Smith, The Beatles, and The Beach Boys (in terms of harmonies.) I have a lot of different visions and a variety of songs that vary even more than what you hear on the site but a good chunk of what I'm going for is distorted power pop with thick harmonies and good concise lead playing to take it over the top. I recently returned to town from through hiking the Appalachian Trail and am ready to rock, swing, whatever...as long as it is really well made music. I am interested in joining/sitting in/recording for an established band and really seek musicians with a strong passion for music...not just to jam!
