Black and White, first photo: This little girl, Bullet, was already a momma. She is just a baby herself at nearly a year old. She is a small cat and is a purr monster. She loves to curl up on your lap and get lots of love once she is used to you. She is very sweet and full of love. Can you give this sweet girl a loving home to relax and get all of the love she deserves? Bullet will be shy at first but will warm right up to you and she is SO cute and will look like a kitten forever. Bullet can be visited at LAMBORN'S STUDIO & Custom Framing located on West State Street across from Casa. Hours: M,T,TH; 10-5:30pm, F: 10-4:30pm, Sat: 10-3pm. The studio is closed on Wed & Sun. Adoption application required and there is a $50 adoption fee. She is spayed, FeLV negative, treated for parasites and will have her first shots.

Tuxedo black/white, second photo: If you are in search of a cat that just wants love, Mist is the one for you! She may not like to have her back scratched, but she loves to have her face and neck tended to. She'll greet you when you wake up in the morning, and follow you around the house looking for attention. She seems to do ok with calm dogs, but it takes her a while to warm up to other cats, so be patient with her. Please give this gal a loving home. Mist can be visited at Import House 68 N. Court Street, Mon-Sat 10-8pm and Sunday 12-5pm. Once you meet her you won't want to leave her there! Adoption application required and there is a $50 adoption fee. She is spayed, FeLV negative, treated for parasites and shots are up to date.

Orange Tabby, third photo; King was born in mid-July, 2009. As you can see, he is absolutely adorable! He's very playful, as all kittens are! He enjoys snuggling up with his current caretaker in bed, and loves to receive pets and other attention. Currently, he is living indoors. King gets along well with other cats and people, but doesn't seem to like dogs too well. He has tested negative for FeLV, parasite treated and has been neutered. His first set of vaccinations will be given at the time of adoption. Please consider giving King a forever home! 2yo MALE GERMAN SHEPHERD (Oak Hill, Ohio)

Great Dog and absolutely beautiful... I just do not have the room he needs since moving recently. He is neutered, house trained and has always been good with our children. He is a very good tempered dog and i have never had an issue with him. He does love to bark when people come around the house and he sounds 500 pounds and 10 feet tall : )
He is full blooded but papers do not come with him.
I am asking a rehoming fee of $150 to ensure that he only goes to the proper home and that he will be properly taken care of...
He is the black and tan saddle colored shepherd.
He does know basic commands and loves playing tug of war with stuffed animals, as he has a bag of stuffed animals to himself : ) He really needs a home where he will have plenty of room to run, lots of attention and will be well cared for: fed, groomed, etc... and will only be rehomed to such an environment.

Dog Looking For Good Home!

Very sweet three legged Shepard mix, medium size, looking for a new home. We've been forced to move and found that we can't take her with us. She's a wonderful dog with a great temperment. Good with cats and so far has shown to be good with children though she is a little weary of other dogs.

She's been house trained. Knows sit, stay, and come. Can walk well on a leash though sometimes needs reminding. She's very playful and energetic despite her missing leg, and would do great on log walks or jobs. She's very much a people dog and loves to spend every second she can with her family.

She's quiet and will only bark when really excited. She makes a very good apartment dog.

She has been chipped and has had her rabies vaccinations.

We'll also be giving all her stuff including her leash, halter, toys, chews, food and water dish, food, treats, shampoo and grooming cologne, vitamins and anything else I might have forgotten.

Dogs need a good home! (Chauncey, Ohio)

We live on a farm and have always welcomed our land to the misfortunate animals that were dropped off. Recently, both of my parents passed away and left me with a huge responsibility of taking care of these animals. My family have become attached to all of the dogs and cats, but realize that they need personal attention that only can be done on a one on one basis. There are just too many animals for us to take care of.
We cannot in good conscience just give away the animals due to the warnings of hoarders and animal cruelty.
We want to make sure that these animals find good homes and families that want to make them a part of their families.
There are several different breeds and size of dogs that we have. Lab mixes and others. We can submit pictures to those only seriously looking. They are all very loving animals.

I have a Ball Python that is about 3 1/2 to 4 feet he is great with kids and adults. I have taken him to my moms fifth grade classroom and her kids have all held him. He will eat dead or live. He has never squeezed me. He is not very active when being held but if you move him a lot he will liven up. Loves baths!!!! He will come with his water rock, fake plants, sticks, heat lamp, heat pad that goes under tank, and his rock to go into. he will be available for a $75 rehoming fee the tank is brand new and is a tank made for snakes it has door on the front for easy reach to get him out and a screen top for air. are in need of homes, all may be viewed on the website and some will make an appearance at the event. Cats and kittens will be there looking for new homes for the holiday. Feisty & spunky, laid back and sleepy - what ever you are looking for we can hook you up. We will also have dogs (Daisy & Maya) at this event - great dogs looking for great homes. They are also listed on our website.

Fill out an adoption application on-site and interview with an ACHS representative to find the right match for you and your lifestyle. If you intend to adopt a cat please bring a carrier for safe transportation to your home. No cats will be permitted to leave the event without a carrier.

Registration for Low Cost Spay/Neuter Clinics (Athens County)

Did you know kittens can get pregnant at the age of 4 months??!

Many veterinarians now sterilize pets as young as 8 wks old with no side-effects.

Myths & Facts

MYTH: It's better to have one litter first. FACT: Medical evidence indicates just the opposite. In fact, the evidence shows that females spayed before their first heat are typically healthier. ~Humane Society of the United States

Registrations are held monthly. The first Thursday of every month, Market on State inside the main entrance, 5-6pm. Clients will be given an appointment date at the registration. Clients with cats will need to be available on a weekday morning (early) to bring the pet to a location in the city of Athens. The pets will then be transported to a clinic in WV by ACHS. Clients must pick their pets up in Athens later that day.

Please note - dog appointments are full until January. It is still advised that you sign up now for future appointments unless you intend to take your pet to a local vet. The waiting list increases each registration session. The first available cat appointmentsare also for January. Again, you must sign up now for future appointments. Thx! Please visit your local vet if you can not wait for an appointment through ACHS.

Pre-payment -- CASH ONLY is mandatory to be scheduled for an appointment.

Financial assistance with spay/neuter cost is offered to animals owned by Athens County residents, who also have qualifying proof of low income as defined by the Ohio Pet Fund. A copy of qualifying proof must be left with ACHS, originals will not be accepted.

Regular low cost clinic prices are available to anyone who would like to utilize the clinic. Registration is still required.
