Rodney King was clubbed by LAPD after he refused to submit to authority( and tried to run down police officers with his car), the police officers who were involved were put on trial. When the verdict was not considered harsh enough, LA broke out in riots. Flashforword to 2009. By trying KSM in court, Holder and Obama have found a way to bring Bush Cheney and the CIA into court as well. If convicted and sentenced to death, I would expect a backlash from radical muslims within the US or at our embasies around the world. If he is not convicted, but the CIA and Bush do not recieve what radicals will want to be a harsh punishment for waterboarding of there now federally protected US citizen, confessed mass murderor, known as KSM, expect a backlash. Holder and Obama have created a no-win siuation for the US. If local gang bangers riot over a useless felon, imagine the outrage of hardened radical, trained jihadsts around the world. I would also not be surprised to see the UN intervene on the basis that KSM could not be tried in the USA if found guilty do to a biased jury, and will be moved to an international court to be judged by his muslim peers. Is CBS news right wing as well? If you read this carefully, pay attention to two major problems. One, over 1,000 tons of chemical weapons are still unaccounted for. This has been a problem since 1991. They have had 12 years to hand it over, or prove it was destroyed. Sadam failed to do either, and Hans reports this fact to the UN and the US. Then he says, despite not being able to get this resolved for 12 years, he just needs a few months. But at the same time, he states that there are underground facilities that they are having difficulty accessing. Maybe to you liberals, Sadam has been such an outstanding honest fellow that we should take him at his word. History proves otherwise. He was out of time, he played a high stakes game of cat and mouse for 12 years and he lost. This was not gossip, this was straight from the UN inspector in charge of overseeing Iraq. In his presentation he attempted to downplay the missing 1,000 tons as no big deal, but he new he was out of time, and the burden of proof was on Iraq, and they failed. If 12 years was not enough, then no reason to keep stalling.

MSNBC proved they were no better than the National Enquirer this time. Entertainment based news has got to be recognized for what it is! What it IS is subjective, pablumatic opinion column fecal traps! I apply the same scrutiny to Fox and the mess up with the crowd scenes at Palin's book signings. Get on to analytical detailed reviews of real news and out of propping up opinion makers. What happened to reporting on world social events, science, technology, living and real issues that can be objectively covered?

Here's my theory on the brief: It is not the very high ups behind this; someone in the middle, like editors and archives room staff are the gremlins playing foul. Little infiltrators and weasel spies on both sides are behind this sort of thing. Often overlooked, harder to trace back to the big men, and can always be paid off to take a fall. A prime maxim of war is to beware of spies and implants. I have no doubt their are haters of the US among us at some level operating inside. I'm not being paranoid but historically realistic. If Sun Tzu thinks it is viable and likely, then I do too. Protect your flanks and trust nobody until they prove their trust is worthy.

Subjectively framed news is no news at all just as science with an agenda is not real science. The bad examples of MSNBC, CNN and Fox reinforce my desicion to go elsewhere for news. Watch objective news from British sources such as the BBC or the NPR world news. NPR tends to chase rainbows and go easy on Democrats, but they are even handed and play fair most of the time. Despite their leanings that can taint objectivity, I do believe they are more concerned about reporting as much as possible instead of over-hyping a few stories each week.

Since we haven't found WMD in Iraq, a lot of the anti-war/anti-Bush crowd is saying that the Bush administration lied about Iraq's weapons of mass destruction. Well, if they're going to claim that the Bush administration lied, then there sure are a lot of other people, including quite a few prominent Democrats, who have told the same "lies" since the inspectors pulled out of Iraq in 1998. OK, let's get past your list issue. You want to deny the magnitude of the holocaust, fine. Jewish settlements begin to build, fill in the swamps, and create vast fertile grounds for farming. The surrounding Islamic run governments become outraged by the idea of muslims living under jewish governments. They enact the first infitada, and muslims in palestine flee at the request of islamic governments as invasions and fighting breaks out,This lasts through WW2, and muslim clerics align with Nazi Germany. Of course, Germany loses, and the UN decides that Israel needs to be reestablished as an independant state. Palestine is divided up with 2/3 going to Jordan, the rest split between Israel and for the first time a soverign state of palestine. But it is the palestinians who refuse the agreement to have a two stae solution, not Israel. After repeated violence, Israel increases it's borders for safety. And again after their victory in the six day war. Israel eventually releases land back to the losers( a first in modern history), and the rest is pretty much history. Palestine has refused a two state solution, and the chance to have their own soveriegn country for the first time in history. There never has been a sovereign state of Palestine, it was England's land to give, and they did. No holocaust, same result. The history of Israel is an absolute that even the muslim king of Jordan recognizes. Yet, you never claim any anger toward Jordan for their cruel treatment of refugees dating back to the first infitada. Please explain why you only have an issue with Israel, and not Jordan, or Egypt who blocked humantarian aid and building supplies into the west bank. You are clearly anti-semitic.

Jesse Jackson Plays Race Card Against Black Congressman on Health Care

The Rev. Jesse Jackson on Wednesday night criticized Rep. Artur Davis (D-Ala.) for voting against the Democrats’ signature healthcare bill.

“We even have blacks voting against the healthcare bill,” Jackson said at a reception Wednesday night. “You can’t vote against healthcare and call yourself a black man.”

The remark stirred a murmur at the reception, held by the Congressional Black Caucus (CBC) Foundation as part of a series of events revolving around the 25th anniversary of Jackson’s run for president. Several CBC members were in attendance, including Chairwoman Barbara Lee (D-Calif.), who’d introduced Jackson.

Davis, who is running for governor, is the only black member of Congress from Alabama.


He is also the only member of the CBC to have voted against the healthcare bill earlier this month.


Davis referred to Jackson’s 1988 run for president in a statement, issued through his office, that said he would not engage Jackson on his criticism.


“One of the reasons that I like and admire Rev. Jesse Jackson is that 21 years ago he inspired the idea that a black politician would not be judged simply as a black leader,” Davis’s statement said. “The best way to honor Rev. Jackson’s legacy is to decline to engage in an argument with him that begins and ends with race.”


Jackson said later that he "didn't call anybody by name and I won't."

He added that he wasn't saying that black lawmakers must vote a certain way. Instead, they should vote the interests of the people in their districts, and he said the healthcare bill would help Alabama because it's one of the poorest states in the country.

"The poorest people need healthcare protection," Jackson said. "They have the highest infant mortality and the lowest life expectancy. They're dying from lack of access."

Other members of the CBC found no fault in Jackson's words. Rep. Emanuel Cleaver (D-Mo.) was in the audience. He called Jackson's criticism of Davis "accurate," but said he did not hear Jackson say "You can’t vote against healthcare and call yourself a black man."

"If it is an issue that disproportionately impacts black folks, race has to be considered," Cleaver said. Jackson, he added, "is expected by his constituency to call balls and strikes."

Rep. Maxine Waters (D-Calif.) called the remarks "vintage Jesse Jackson," but said Davis's vote against healthcare was consistent with a voting record more conservative than many CBC members.

"Artur Davis has a more conservative constituency," Waters said. "Since he's running for governor of Alabama, he reflects an even more conservative constituency."

Rep. Sheila Jackson-Lee (D-Texas) said each man was doing what he considered the right thing.

"People have a right to vote their constituency, and people have a right to speak their conscience," Jackson-Lee said. "Both happened."

Davis’s Democratic primary opponent, Agriculture Commissioner Ron Sparks, highlighted Davis’s status as the lone African-American vote against the bill.

“He was the only Black Caucus member to vote against it. I don’t get it,” Sparks said last week, according to The Associated Press. Sparks is white.

Davis said he voted against the healthcare bill because "House leadership's approach is not the best we can do." He said he preferred a version passed by the Senate Finance Committee because it reduces subsidization of the healthcare industry, taxes high-value health plans instead of wealthy people, and is more effective in getting employers to help with health coverage.


Davis has countered that Sparks’s position on healthcare has changed over time, saying he’s being “deliberately dishonest.”


The primary will be June 1. All of the GOP candidates for governor have been critical of the healthcare legislation, according to the AP.

ATLANTA, GA – November 16 – E-Voting rights activists cited today two separate voting machine defects that could impact several of the upcoming 2009 Georgia runoffs. One defect involves an inability of the machines to prevent casting totally blank voted ballots. John Fortuin, co-founder of Defenders of Democracy, explained: “Many voters are not as proficient with using the equipment as they would be with marking paper ballots. The voting machine vendor could have easily programmed a warning to voters that their ballot is blank before it is cast. Officials may try to claim that is not a defect, but ensuring entry of required data is a must for integrity.”

Activists also noted a defect where voting machines can cast a ballot without voter consent when voters do not release the Next screen button quickly enough after completing their selections. The Cast Ballot button on the Summary screen is in the same location as the Next button on previous screens and it will activate without a separate click. The voting software does not employ standard “speed bump” technology that would prevent voters from traversing through the Summary screen and casting the ballot without ever clicking on the Cast Ballot button.

The defects first widely surfaced in a controversial Special Purpose Local Option Sales Tax (SPLOST) referendum held during 2005 in Cobb County. In that contest, 285 blank voted ballots were cast by voters but the SPLOST referendum was the only item on the ballot. The referendum was decided by only 114 votes out of 39,780 votes cast. Over one billion dollars in new taxes were then assessed, the majority of which is being paid by Cobb County residents. That contest was also plagued by unexplained modem transmission difficulties, reporting delays and a shift in preliminary results that took the SPLOST from apparent defeat to a razor thin victory.

The Secretary of State’s Inspector General (IG) office recently conducted an investigation into the SPLOST referendum but did not examine the anomalies and never notified the complainant, David Chastain. The IG office recommended that the State Election Board close the case during its October 2009 meeting, but did not explain why 285 voters would go to the polls, check in, get a memory card, access a machine and then not vote “Yes” or “No” for the only ballot choice.

David Chastain remarked: “I am appalled that the IG office opened an investigation into my complaints without ever contacting me for details on all the improprieties that could have been the result of vote tampering. Furthermore, the defects may well have been the determining factor in a billion dollar sales tax assessment for all of us who live in Cobb County.”

Like the 2005 Cobb County SPLOST, several 2009 Georgia runoffs have only one race on the ballot, thus making the ballot more vulnerable to inadvertent blank voting. Many counties are performing “logic and accuracy testing” for the runoffs this week but Mr. Fortuin explained that: “The public is banned from hands-on access during testing and cannot confirm that the machines are fit for service. The testing is minimal, and there are unresolved defects still inherent in the machines since they were purchased in 2002 at a cost to taxpayers of over $54 million”. He concluded that it would be safer for voters to obtain absentee ballots through county election offices if they know how and then, vote using those ballots.
