Lucy 2 the Rescue Dachshund Needs a Home (AL)

Lucy and her best friend Desi have just been taken into rescue by AARD. They were left in the drop box of a northwest Alabama shelter. They were probably a breeder pair and the breeder dumped them when they became too much of a bother. Our vet had barely taken Lucy out of her crate for her examination when he started saying what a wonderful pet she was going to make. They were both groomed while they were at the vets. The groomer shows dachshunds in confirmation trials. She stated that these two were very nice looking dachshunds. We will be finding out more about these two angels soon and will post updates as get to know them better if some very lucky family doesn't adopt them first. FOUND DOG IN HARMON (HARMON DUPLEXES BEHIND WALMART)

We found this small black dog this morning in the Harmon neighborhood (behind Walmart). It is a girl, approx 10-15 lbs, wearing a white tennis outfit? (it has a hood on it with a little pink bow) She has on a red collar on (no tags) and a flea collar on. We think she is a terrier mix of some sort, not really sure though? If you know who she belongs to PLEASE contact me! We don't want to have to take her to the humane society :(

Faith the Rescue Dachshund Needs a Home (AL)

FAITH was a breeder dog that was retired and her owners no longer had any need for her. Well, we think that's about the best thing that's happened to her because FAITH now can find forever home where she can be nothing but a lap warmer and full-time spoiled young lady. As you can see from her pictures, she's an awfully pretty girl -- just needs to lose a few pounds to regain her girlish figure. FAITH has a great energy that is "just right"---she's a natural born clown and loves to play with toys and will entertain herself (and everybody else, too!) by throwing toys up in the air and catching them and playing with the young boys in the yard. AND, she's got a sweet, calm temperament that makes her a delight to have around the house. She's got just the right amount of playfulness coupled with a very sweet and loving spirit. FAITH gets along well with male and female dogs, sorry, NO cats, but older children (12 and older) who know how to be respectful of a small dog will be just fine around FAITH. She is working on housetraining--that was a new thing for her--but she's smart and wants to please, so she's come along very nicely and is almost there! We expect she'll continue excellent progress if kept on a schedule of meals and potty time. She likes to go out in the fenced in yard and enjoy the sunshine, so we'd like to see her go to a home with a fenced yard. Faith is a polite lady and meets others well so she would be a joy for the neighbors, too! Faith enjoys the company of another dog and would be a great companion for somebody! She is a wonderful, loving and friendly dog and deserves the best. If you've got a hole in your heart that needs a furry best friend, she's your girl! You'll be blessed for many years to come! lab x pups

Two 11 week male lab pups must find new homes asap. Two sets of puppy shots and wormed regularly since 4 weeks. Currently weigh 20 and 24 pounds. Live out of town, but will be coming through Opelika Saturday and again Sunday. These pups are great. We just weren't planning on pups. When we took the Mom in during June she came into heat almost immediately(three days later). We did a great job keeping her on the deck for four weeks, but apparently there was a sneaky fella hanging around somewhere. Chloe the Rescue Dachshund Needs a Home (AL)

Chloe is mother to Pace and Zoe. Chloe has been in several homes in the past 6 months through no fault of her own and All American Dachshund Rescue has stepped in to make sure her next home is her last. She was a breeder dog for the first 6 years of her life. Her original owner gave her to a man she thought would provide her a pet home but instead all he wanted was to breed her. After breeding her, the man gave her to a family that did want to provide her with a loving home but economic hardships forced them to surrender her. She is continuing to learn how to be a family pet. She does not need to be right under foot. She doesn't give too many doxie kisses. She is a very loving and very loyal dog but she doesn't go overboard with outward displays of affection. She will be protective of her family. She will need continued work on housebreaking. She has one blue eye and one brown eye and she is absolutely gorgeous. She is being fostered in northwestern Alabama. She is not good with cats. She is good with most other dogs however she will fight back if provoked. For the most part, Chloe is very laid back and easy and just needs stability and love.

Orange Tabby Kitten (Auburn, AL)

11 week old male orange tabby kitten available for adoption. He was found hiding under cars in a parking lot near my job. Very sweet and friendly, loves to purr. He is up to date on vaccinations, has been dewormed, and tested negative for feline leukemia/AIDs. I would love to keep him, but I am allergic to cats. Chihuahua "Basil Oscar" needs a good home (Auburn/Opelika, AL)

Basil is a 3 year old Chihuahua that is very much part of my family. Because of my school location and schedule, I can no longer provide the attention that is needed. German Short-Hair Pointer (Opelika)

Beautiful, loving, sweet, one year old female full blooded German short-hair pointer needs to find a new home. Her mommy is having to move to the city and knows how much this sweet girl would miss her woods. She has been spayed and is up to date on all of her shots. She is an expert squirrel and chipmunk hunter. She loves to run and frolic in the woods all day then sleep under the covers spooned up next to her mom at night. The right home would have lots of land for her to run and play. If in town she would have to have a large privacy fenced in yard. She will climb a chain link fence. Looking for someone who will not keep her locked away outside or chained up. She is very social and gets along with all people and other dogs. Her family tree is filled with champion bird dogs. She is small for her breed and has an adorable under bite. If you only want her as a hunt dog that is locked away the rest of the week this isn't the girl for you. If you live in an apartment or townhouse it won't work out. Lab Mix needs home (Auburn, AL)

Male lab mix, about 1-2 years old, approx 55 lbs needs good home. Very beautiful brendle markings (looks like dark brown and tan tiger stripes). Very sweet and playful, not aggressive at all. Slightly wary of men, I found him as a stray and think he may have been previously abused. Would be a good family dog, good with other dogs.
