Hello,
I am a 26 year old woman looking for a nanny job in the Evans vicinity. I have been working with children since I was 11 years old. I have experience with children from birth to teenagers and children with special needs. I strongly believe in doing more then sitting and watching television all day with your child(ren). I believe in having a daily routine that will prepare your little one for years to come. Kinda like bringing a daycare to your home. I do not mind taking your children to school if need be, or to doctors appointments or anything else that they may need. I enjoy trips to the playgrounds, and the library.

I just wanted to thank all of my fellow childcare providers for their encouraging advice. It is very unfortunate that there are so many that have delt with the same issues I have come across when trying to help working parents find good/affordable childcare for their children. Question for Providers

I am also a childcare provider/babysitter and I was wondering if any other providers are coming across any difficult parents and how you go about working with them to provide childcare for them but without getting used?

I usually charge $75 a week for each child, no matter the age. I have occassionaly only charged $50 for 1 child for those parents struggling, or so I was told. And for drop off's I charge $15 for the day. Wether that be for 1 hour or 8. I recently told a mother of 2 who only needed an hour or 2 of care a day during the week that I would watch her 2 young children for $50 a week being that it was only for an hour or 2 each day and she was providing food....ect. And she explained she could not afford $75. I believe she was ok with the $50 but she emailed and asked if I could watch the kids that day for an hour or so to see how it went. I was delighted to but asked that she pay $15 being that I do not know if it will be a long term or just a 1 times drop off.She explained she could not pay that much, which is fine. I do not hold any hard feelings if a parent decides she cannot pay that.But my other question is am I overcharging compared to the other childcare providers here? I mean, I try to work with each parent as best as I can but some seem like they don't want to pay anything and have a way of making you feel bad for charging in the first place.

I do not want anyone to think that I am only referring to this particular parent or that I am knocking her in any way. I would still sit for her if she needed me. It was just this situation along with a few others that has made me question wether or not I am overcharging. I do not want this to turn into a huge disagreement or anything, I just want to be fair to the parents AND myself while enjoying the company of little children. Any advice is appreciated.

The minimum age your child must be for me to baby-sit is 9 months old. The maximum number of children I can baby-sit at one time is 3.
