MHHE has an exciting opportunity for a Marketing Manager in our Humanities, Social Science and World Languages (HSSL) Division.

The Marketing Manager will coordinate the development and maintenance of essential product information working with editors, authors, and copywriters to develop accurate and current data that will serve as the basis for catalogs, websites, product kits, book bulletins, brochures, space advertising and training materials.

Requirements:

* Design and implement successful marketing plans for key titles and disciplines, reviewing results regularly
* Analyze campaign results at the title, discipline, and list levels, and leverage learning toward improving future campaigns
* Contribute to deep understanding of customer needs, challenges, and course- or decision-dynamics through various outreach and market research mechanisms, including, but not limited to, in-person interviews, surveys, and events
* Analyze market trends, market issues and potential market opportunities, and share findings with editorial, sales, and digital colleagues to help inform strategy and product development
* Participate in market planning and product development
* Work with editors in identifying reviewers and content author candidates at key schools to maximize sales
* Recommend changes and improvements in assigned product lines through data gathered by contact with the field staff on campus travel and convention attendance
* Identify Top Targets and design and implement collaborative plans for CRM activity with, and conversion of, such targets
* Develop training materials/manuals for sales representatives. Working with sales management personnel, train new representatives regarding MHHE product, competition, curriculum and issues and trends
* Develop and participate in presentation of product training on messaging and features at all sales meetings
* Provide assistance in closing business through personal visits with the sales representatives in key adoption situations, and on-campus or virtual presentations
* Answer customer and sales representatives' inquiries
* Supervise efforts of Marketing Coordinator or Specialist in marketing and promotion of specific product and in support of assigned lists

Qualifications

* Bachelor's Degree preferred
* 3 years marketing, sales or editorial experience in publishing is necessary
* Experience in the higher education industry strongly preferred
* Proven analytical and project management skills
* Excellent interpersonal and communication skills both verbal and written.
* Approximately 30% travel required
