First and foremost, learn about Asian culture. All over Asia bowing is a sign of respect and they do it when they greet people and other times such as saying thank you, saying I'm sorry, etc. He was bowing as a respectful greeting and while he did shake the Emperor of Japan's hand while bowing(which from my understanding is a "no no" in Asia), it was still a respectful move. I'm not sure how he greeted Hu Jin-tao but probably in the same manner.

He was not "bowing down". He was showing respect and let me tell you this, respect is a huge thing over there. Of course a handshake might have been sufficient but he went the extra mile in their culture and that might have shown the leaders he was actually interested in their country.

Before saying things like, "fuck this asshole", maybe you should open a book up and learn about cultures other than the United States. Honestly, I'm getting embarrassed by how people are reacting to our president showing respect to other leaders. There is a difference between "bowing down" and showing respect. A huge difference.

you know there have been several times over the last couple of years when I was in The Evil Empire (otherwise known as Wally World) when I was sure I hit the NO THANKS option on the pin pad only to have it show $20 or $40 cash back, I had just chalked it up my hitting the wrong button by mistake but now I have to wonder if maybe I did hit the NO THANKS only to have that overrode. I was just grateful that I was paying damn close attention to the transitions and the display on the pin pad. Now if I do happen to go into a Wally World, which I try to avoid (viva la Target) I never use my card as a Debit card, it is worth the couple of extra seconds it takes to use it as a Visa card.

Us white girls are curious why alot of black girls seem to dislike us or come across racist only towards white women?

I get that some of you might dislike that alot of black men get with white women. Not sure exactly why, but that's the rumor. But as a white girl I can tell a white girl who likes black men vs. one who might not, can't you black ladies tell also?

How arrogant, rude, self serving and indicative of someone taking from the government, ie; the people who pay taxes. No one is owed anything in this world, including EBT cards for food, etc. and the government should not continue to TAKE from those who have earned to give to those who have not. I'm glad you are going to school, have 2 jobs, etc. and maybe you do need some help, but be appreciatve of it, not arrogant. Furthermore, most people on EBT or other welfare programs have many expenses they could cut completely and instead purchase food but they CHOOSE not to, just as many who are even homeless, when they get money, it often times goes to drugs, alcohol, cigarettes, etc. Anyone on EBT or Welfare with a cell phone could cut that $75.00 per month expense and instead purchase food. Anyone on welfare or EBT, etc. buying alcohol, drugs, cigarettes, cablevision, satelite radio, etc. is doing so because other taxpayers are subsidizing their food or other purchases which is absolutely ridiculous. Yes, of course the government should help to feed those in need (although in reality that is more the job of family, friends, churches and charities) but by helping our government is now enabling an PLENTY of the people on these systems are abusing them as well as continuing to pay for other items which are not necesseties because we the taxpayers are paying for their necessities. This system is enabling and helping to keep many people down as well as hindering those who are working hard for their money by taking from them through higher taxes.

Latest Wal-Mart RIPOFF

It has been reported that many Wal-Mart customers have been swindled at the checkout without their knowledge. The scam works this way. Most people NEVER look at their receipt so it makes it easier......When using a credit or debit card the cashier rings up the sale and then adds $20 or $40 for cash back and NEVER gives the money to the customer. It will show on your receipt, but again, most never look at it while in line. They will either shove the receipt into a bag or pocket the receipt and not even give it to the customer. Cashiers can then pocket the money that is charged to the customer. If a customer DOES catch this, the cashier will just say that their machine is "acting up" and ask the customer to just take the extra cash. If they refuse they will then call a floor manager to void the sale and then re-ring it. How many unsuspecting customers go through the THOUSANDS of check out lines daily and NEVER realize they've been scammed?

Ok here's the deal. I am a 21 year old Finance major. I work two jobs and go to school full-time and YES I do receive foodstamps. I happen to be WHITE. Yes white people get food stamps too. Don't assume everyone that has food stamps is fucking lazy. Why don't you mind your fucking business and focus on your life and not others?? Who are you to judge people?? You don't know anything about them.. so don't assume they've got everything.

great Chinese restaurant and service (Evans GA)

My family and I recently went to this new restarant in Evans named Angel Island. It is next to the food lion on the corner of Washington and Belair Rd. Our servers name was Jennifer and she was amazing. She was very knowledgeable and friendly. I was able to get sushi and my husband got chinese food (he doesn't eat sushi). It was the best food I have had since I visited New York. PLEASE support this restaurant. I would hate to see them close. They also offered both military and hospital employee discounts.

Walmart is evil (rants and raves)

Walmart is commonly known for their horrible business practices. I believe if people would do their research, they would realise what a terrible company this is. Everytime you spend a dollar there you are supporting a business that encourages it's employees to get government health care (they hand out the forms in the HR department). They rip people off on a regular basis in every way possible how do you think they get their prices so low? From asking people to work off the clock, to firing my friend for missed time because he had a heart attack at work. Think for yourself and quit blindling following the commercials.

I hear you , I am a vendor who is in convenient stores daily, I see more people , all black, using ebt cards to buy shit like snack stuff, potato chips crackers and soda and candy. I work a job too to support my family and find it hard to make ends meet and these people are running this country to the ground for everything they can get now with no regaurd for the future. Seriously, I was at the grocery store yesterday trying to figure how to spend my allotted amount of money for groceries for the week to feed my family. As I stood in line , the woman in front of me with a cart full of clab legs and steaks that totaled about $250.00 paid for this using a EBT card then spends anouther $200.00 or so with cash.....I'm like WTF.....My wife and I both work full time jobs and could never even think to spend that on steaks and such... im sorry but, i think southern hospitality has been out the window for some time now. i am 25, i moved to georgia when i was 7. the first thing i heard from our new neighbor was 'go home you damn yankee!' And that wasn't the last time i heard it. I still get that and i've lived here for 18 years. I have even had people stop talking to me that i had befriended for months once they realised i was originally from Ohio. A friend of my dads took a trip with him to Ohio and was blown away at how friendly and how hospitable every one was. You will probably encounter some rude people who have made new york city their home, but people from outside areas of new york state are as nice as can be. every area has its ass holes. its time we give up the northern/southern split. the civil war passed 150 years ago. we are one country, we need to act like one country

I must say however that this arrogance also very much resides in the South due to due to ones socio-economic status which is generally based on education.


As far as the general attitude of people in the North----I guess it is rather one is in a rural or an urban enviroment.

Having spent some time there --it has been my observation that those from the rural areasare far nicer and hosptitable the the city dwellers.

Most of the time my southern accent was always welcome----the ladies loved it----and hey---I must admit--I also like some northern accents.

Hi I am not on here asking for anyone to give me money to get out of the situation that I am in. I am only asking for advice from positive people or someone to lead me in the right direction. Here is the thing currently I am living in a hotel with my 7 kids. This living arrangment is costly but at the same time I dont have much of a choice. I have no family here. My truck was stolen and recked. I was bless with a great boss that helped me get another car so I could get to work and take the kids where they had to go. I had to get out of the house that I was renting because my landlord was a slumlord and house is underforcloser and it had other problems such as the lights not working, the roof leaking and the air conditioner froze up and flooded the place so now it smelled of milddew. So ended up at a hotel which is costing me alot of money everyweek. and now i am out of money to spend for my familys stay. I dont want to have to stay on the streets with my kids. I know there are programs out there that help in emergancy but just dont know where to find them. I do have a housing voucher but not able to find another place until I pay this crappy landlord the money that I owe him which in my opinion shouldnt have to pay him since the house was not livable and I had to take the kids to a hotel because of all the problems with the house. I just need someone to guide me in the right direction. I am not askin anyone to financial help me at all. just information or suggestions please anything will help!!! THank you so much

I have friends who are military, I have friends who live with their mothers, I have friends who barely scrape by and I have friends who have very little worries in life. And none of them were obtained because of what they have/or don't have, where they live OR where they shop. I accept any and all people until they give me a reason not to based on how they are with me. And that's the way it should be with everyone. I don't know where some of you are getting your sense of direction but you get what you give in life. And what you do and say to people eventually ALWAYS comes back to you.

I met this Christian girl and we went out a few times and really hit it off. I know she has special feelings for me, and she knows that I'm a good, caring, spiritual, and moral person, and that I share a firm belief in God. She also knows I was raised in a strong Christian household, and that I respect the Christian faith and people who truly believe. However, over the last decade or so, I've come to be honest with myself and accept that I do not share their belief in Christ as the Savior.

Well, just last night she informed me that although her heart wants to pursue a relationship with me, she doesn't think it's a good idea, and so we had to end it. Assuming she's telling the truth and she didn't end it because she wasn't attracted to me or because she thought I was a total loser or something, I'm having a hard time understanding this. Why would Christians (and perhaps people of all religions) deny themselves a chance at true love with someone who truly embraces many of the ideals that Christianity (and all major religions) considers so essential to being a good and moral person? Does God look down at Christians who fall in love with non-Christians? Is this a sin according to Christianity?

I would normally chalk this whole experience up to poor judgement on her part for being willing to walk away from a true, heart-felt connection, which is a hard thing to find, but this has happened to me a couple times before. I could just as easily CALL myself a non-practicing Christian (just like so many other people do without ever paying much attention to this aspect of their life), and fool these girls and I'd suddenly be acceptable, but because I refuse to deny/hide my true beliefs, I'm like a curse or damaged in some way to them. If there is indeed something within the Christian religion that pushes people away based on what they call themselves rather than embracing people who are trying to better themselves and lead truly decent lives, then I really have to question Christianity's ideals.

P.S. Wal-Mart is NOT always cheaper than other stores. They've just spent millions of dollars in advertising to convince you of such. They have catered to the lower educated southern masses since their inception. I do not shop Wal-Mart, but I have checked and compared prices. You people who shop there walk around like stoned zombies while chanting "Wal-Mart mmmmmm, Wal-Mart mmmmmmm, Wal-Mart mmmmmmmm."

Okay. What really gets to me is when people think that they are better than other people. Just because some one shops at Wal-Mart doesn't mean that they are "white trash hicks" or "low class blacks". Why do people have to be so racist? No, I'm not the "tree huger" type of person but that does get under my skin.

I shop at Wal-Mart. I'm not white, black or even trash for that matter. I am Native American with 4 beautiful children and Wal-Mart is better to shop to save money. Don't judge people for where they shop, what they ware or how they live cause when it is judgment time for you....that won't look so good on your part.

These stupid little inexpensive toy is being exploited! If you don't know what it is, it is a fake hamster that will run in a ball or tube or whatever accessory you purchase for it. The hamster cost around $8-$10 in stores. The problem is that the associates in the stores (toy associates) are buying them as they come in off the truck so that they NEVER get on the shelf. Then they turn around and make a HUGE profit and sell them for $50! This is INSANE! My local Walmart toy associate told me straight out that he bought a bunch and has sold them for $50.

I guess there is only one answer to this problem since I can't talk my kid out of wanting one:

DO NOT GO AND PAY $50 FOR THIS STUPID $8 TOY! Good grief people the ones that will go out and pay those prices are the ones that are supporting this problem.

Why can't I find happiness.... (needing some advice)

Seems like everywhere I go it's all around me. People all around and everywhere I go seem to have someone or are married and I just cant help but to wonder when I am going to find a happiness like that and be able to actualy settle and get married. I know people say "all good things come to those who wait" or "these things take time"
But I have been waiting for years and years and I am not even talking to anyone right now.
I occasionally go to bars here and there and when I do I usually sit alone and just observe people and see how happy everyone else seems to be.

Yet the bigger problem is the fact that my self esteem and my confidents is shot from past relashionships so that makes it a bit harder for me to even approach people. Then again I have heard almost everyone say that meeting people in a bar or online is not a good thing... So that being said where the hell is someone suppose to meet people..

I have found that the few people I have talked to in a bar have been either drug heads or just scum bags in general.
Oh and are there such thing as single bars anymore?
So if anyone has an answer to my question please enlighten me, however, I dont wanna hear any of that pyshco babble religious crap cause I am not religious and I dont believe in god nor do I believe that if i wait around a non existant entity will "make something happen" for me.

No disrespect to people that do believe but I do not and that is not what I want to hear...

I joined the California National Guard on April 2008. I was supposed to go to Basic at some point around August. I failed to fill out some paperwork and I didt get to Camp. I was still on the fence about the decision to agree with the biggest murder in the world. I mean, their doctrine and the brainwashing of "Protecting the Homeland, Fighting for Freedom."
So I meditated:
There is no enemy that can invade us or conquer us but our own minds.
The enemy is invisible and all around us even inside us.

I sent it to all the CA National Guard emails I could find on via their website.
I sent it like: "You are hereby placed on notice. You have 10 days." (I have proof of the sent email in my account.)

I got a call the next day by my recruiter. Telling me not to threaten the military, not to cal superior officers "brother." If you pay attention to the video you can tell I simply make a "demand," which in English means an "urgent request." I am not sure the US GOV speaks English more like Legalese. They have a seperate dictionary, Black's Law, sounds like English but its not. Deception?

I told him I want out. He said ok. The conversation was not that simple but I stood my ground with love and patience. I didnt argue but calmingly told him to respect me and give me what I wanted.

It went up the chain and a MSGT called me. Telling me I have a "binding legal contract" and I cant just change my mind. Tried to force me to call him Master SGT. I kept calling him bro. Then it got ugly, "You are going to get arrested, We are issuing a warrant..." I said ok, how can I get a discharge then? "Well sign this paper that I will send you"- he said.

My respones: "Its against my beliefs to do so because I dont operate in commerce!"
This is a simple exercise of belief.

Again with the threats. "You are going to get arrested, We are issuing a warrant..."
I asked "Why are you intimidating me?" He said-"Its my duty to get this done one way or the other."

So I agreed to accept the paper in the mail. I waited three days and called again. Just to seek an update on the process. I treated him with love and called him Sir instead of Bro. That went well.

He informed me, "Hey, I did some research (very nice! thats respect!) and I found that you dont need to 'SIGN' for a DISCHARGE."

Great! And I asked about him, "How busy are you? Have you laughed lately?"-, these questions made him laugh. We need to treat everyone with love, even if they have threaten you with imprisonment. Im sure if he wanted he could have issued that Warrant and I had to go thru that process. I would have been successful anyways.

Child Support

Soldiers have it even worse. I am separated from my wife pending divorce. The children spend 50% of the week in my home and 50% in her home. The Army requires that I pay her $789 (BAH II rate) a month to ensure my children are cared for. When we first separated we sat down and signed an agreement stating the temporary terms of custody and I had it in writing but federal law states that she is entitled regardless. My attorney tells me that in the state on Georgia our income plays a large factor. Even with 50/50 custody I will have to pay her support based on the difference in income. This is a lady that spent the last 10 years of our marriage obtaining a higher education and holds a degree as a Legal Secretary and an Occupational Therapist. She didn’t contribute crap to the family during that period of time. I don’t feel that she is entitled to Child Support or ½ of my retirement. I could see it if she was a stay at home mom for 18 yrs. If she would have sacrificed her career to care for the family while I progressed in my career. Everyone sees the female as the victim. Women have fought hard over the years to gain equal rights in the work force and equal pay for their time. Now it’s time they take equal responsibility for being self reliant. She has a degree and I feel that the court should tell her to use the skills that my income bought for her.

Child support

I know that everyone has been siding with the dads and I agree that our judicial system is totally wack. However, it is not always the dad getting the shaft. Unfortantanly it is men like my ex that give you all such a bad name! We have been divorced for 6 years we were married for 5. We have two kids together that are now 8&7. He is court ordered to pay 805.00 a month ( which was only 23% of his income/the lowest amount that you can get) plus provide medical, dental and vision insurance on the children. He is also responsible for half of their copays and extracurricular activities. He is currently $22 thousand...yes I said THOUSAND dollars in the rears. I have six years of medical insurance(provided by my husband) copays and such that he has never paid. I have NEVER kept our children from him!!! since our divorce he has been married two more time, lived in ten different homes and had who knows how many jobs! He has now moved across the country and because I refuse to do anything above what our divorce decree says he is a total ASS to me. He calls the cops with false allegations, he tells the kids horrible things about me and he literally sends me tons of abusive emails. I am not trying to say that I have never been a BITCH to him because I know that I have, but I have never done anything that would find me in contempt with the court. I know that it totally sucks to be the one getting the raw end of the deal, I was just hoping that maybe this could let you see that it is not always the Mom being a bitch. I offered him to sign over his rights and he said no! So why should he not have to pay? I did not make the kids by myself. so why should I have to take care of them by myself????? Child support recovery is a joke! I have been going through them for five years and because I am not a loser on welfare and living off of our system they refuse to be bothered with him!!!!

I am a step son. My dad married a woman with a daughter. My brother and I went to live with grandparents because my dads wife said it was either us or her. Which was fine my grandparents loved and cared for us. Years later my brother has 3 kids and my step sister has two and she and her kids are living with my dad and his wife. My dad and his wife take my step sisters kids on vacation to movies and all kind of things but dont carry my brothers kids anywhere. If my dad does anything for me or my brother it has to be a secret because his wife will get mad. I have to call my dad at work if I want to talk to him because if I call the house his wife or step daughter will not let me talk to him.

Being a parent is extremely difficult, especially when the children you are raising are not biologically yours. A way to address this issue lies around communication.

Being a father is a difficult enough in its own right. Primarily you want the best for your children, and are willing to make sacrifices in order to provide the best. Furthermore, the constant worrying of whether you’re doing the right thing plays on you’re mind constantly. What’s more is the fact that even when you do manage to do the right thing, the worry still remains with you. It cannot be shifted, and either yourself, or society seems to be constantly questioning your parenting skills.
Issues of Fatherhood

These types of issues are hard enough to deal with in their own right, but to hear the words "you can’t tell me what to do, you’re not my dad" seems to be the icing on the cake. The old adage of "any man can be a father, but it takes a real man to be a dad " has to be reflected on here, as in most situations when this ultimate slap in the face is heard, you may not in fact be that child’s biological father, but you most likely are that child's dad. You are constantly there for him or her no matter what, have accepted him or her into your heart, and in lots of cases, you’re hearing those hurtful words due to the fact this child's biological father may not be in his or her life.
Difficulties a Step Dad Faces

To be a step dad is hard, and there are lots of difficult issues that arise. The bottom line is that you are part of that child’s life whether he or she likes it or not. However, you need to remember that you are part of that child's life through choice, for the child on the other hand, there is no choice. You are there because you have developed a relationship with his or her biological parent. So although you are willing to play a major part in that child's life, he or she may not want you there, and you don’t automatically qualify in becoming the child's dad.

For children to accept you in their lives and even heart, you will need one key thing, and that is… TIME! Most men make the mistake of expecting this drastic change in a child’s life to happen overnight. The fact of the matter is that it cannot possibly happen that quickly. In a lot of situations, children have just got used to the fact their parents' relationship has broken down, and some children will feel abandoned as a result.

Children in this instance may be experiencing that one of the most important male figures in their lives has gone, and they may feel like this is the norm, and will be repeated throughout their lives. In a lot of situations it is not a personal thing, just a child’s protective measure to prevent further hurt.

So as a step dad, what do you do? The answer is not simple, however can be easier than most people make it. The following three steps are not an exhaustive list, but are a starting point when trying to find ways of becoming accepted in your step child’s life.
Establish Trust

The first, and probably most important, thing is to make it clear that you are not there to take over. The hard truth is that you are not their father, but in time, maybe one day you will become their dad (or at the very least their friend). You need to ensure that you communicate to them that you are a completely different person from their father, and you want to be there for them, even if their biological father is still very much in the picture. They key here is to show them that you respect their mother, and that you are not just a fling, but very much want to be a part of the family.
Unity

It is important to be on the same page as their mother (or father when considering same sex relationships), and a sense of unity is essential. You need to support each other, back each other up, and not go against each other, or allow yourselves to be played against each other. The fact of the matter is that by showing you both are on the same page will show your child that you are both serious about the relationship, strong as a couple, and will not be broken as a result of pressure from that child.
Reliability

Finally, communication and reinforcement that you will not up and leave at the first opportunity that comes along is essential for that child to maintain a sense of stability. You need to remember that even if the child’s father is still very much in his or her life, the child still may be experiencing a loss. This loss may result it the biological parents no longer living under the same roof, either a biological parent leaving the family home, or even the child leaving the family home. Whatever the scenario, it must be remembered that this is a sensitive subject, and reinforcement that he or she will have a stable life needs to be in place.

These are just a few steps that can be taken to make a difficult situation slightly easier. Depending on your current situation, they may or may not work first time round, you may have already tried them, or they may not be feasible to be achieved at present. However, the key is to give it time, and to keep trying; just because you fall at the first hurdle, it doesn’t mean you can’t finish the race.

This is my husband's and I 2nd marriage. I have one from the first marriage and he has a set of twins from his first (witch the little girl died with she was 3, in a car wreck with her mom) and now we have one together. Something that happens when you marry you're spouse is you marry the child/children too. No, I do not treat my "step-son" any different than the girls because he is MY son too. When you get married, the children is not split up into groups of mine and there's. They are ours. Its like adopting the kid(s) that your spouse had before you when ya'll get married. I have always looked at it this way, I got a son and didn't have to go through the pain of having him. I would triad my little dude for anything in the world! Besides if you marry someone with a child/children and you don't do stuff with them because they are not yours, you are heartless and give us step-parents a bad name!

How many of you are married with children that live with you that are not yours but are your spouse's? Do you treat that child different b/c he/she is not yours? Do you refuse to do family activities that include the child that is not yours? When you get married don't you marry the package not just the spouse? This was an editorial from the Macon Telegraph and News, published in Macon, GA. I agree with it and thought others would enjoy reading it also. It is titled, "Muslims Want it Both Ways."

There are just a few things you can count on in this world: The sun will rise in the east; nobody will ever sing better than Ray Charles and somebody will try to make a martyr out of that piece of camel dung that killed 13 innocent men and women at Fort Hood, Texas.

Nidal Malik Hasan, a Muslim and a major in the U.S. Army for reasons I will never understand, decided he didn’t want his pious posterior shipped to the Middle East where it might get shot off, so he decided to demur and shoot a bunch of defenseless people instead. What a guy.

By the way, I have it on good authority that God doesn’t like anybody who shoots innocent people or blows up cars, buildings and little kids, and will definitely not reward them with 42 virgins for their labors. Instead, they will get 42 crones who look like Barbra Streisand plus a bag of pork rinds.

Muslims want it both ways. They want us to accept them and their customs but they don’t want to play by the same rules we do. It doesn’t help that our government, our media and our society cut them breaks the rest of us don’t get.

Remember the furor over the cartoons of Mohammed that appeared in Denmark and caused riots? To my knowledge, not one newspaper in the United States had the backbone to reprint the cartoons and let us see for ourselves what had Muslims so upset. The media don’t mind showing flag-draped coffins of soldiers being returned from the battlefields. Why not a cartoon?

Certainly, there was no shortage of coverage of the photograph of the crucified Christ in a bottle of urine. In fact, the picture was a winner in the “Awards in the Visual Arts” competition, sponsored in part by the National Endowment for the Arts, a United States government agency. You remember the United States government, don’t you? They are the wonderful folks who keep trying to appease Muslims.

Last year, publisher Random House pulled a novel “The Jewel of Medina,” about the Prophet Mohammed’s child bride, fearing it could “incite acts of violence.” There is no truth to the rumors that the chicken-livered publishers are seeking manuscripts for a book on freedom of expression.

And then there is the woman who showed up in a Douglas County courthouse this past December with a shawl on her head and was told to remove it by the bailiff for security reasons.

According to news reports, the woman with the scarf, or hijab for you naïfs out there, had recently moved to Georgia from New Haven, Conn., and said the incident reminded her of all the bad things she’d heard about the South. “I just felt stripped of my civil, my human rights,” she groused.

My crack research staff has been unable to determine if she was kidnapped and brought here against her free will or if she came voluntarily when she learned that the whole state of Connecticut has rusted and will soon fall down.

Oh, did I mention that the same news reports say she uttered an expletive as she left the courtroom? (“May a five-toed jerboa upchuck on your abaya!”) I’m not a legal analyst but I think uttering expletives in a courtroom is a no-no, whether you are sporting a hijab or a beanie with a propeller on top.

If I have to go to court, I plan on wearing my Cochran Mill Nature Center cap with the grinning frog on the front and if a bailiff objects, I plan to go “pfft!” and tell him that a grinning frog is a redneck’s hijab. Let them try and figure that one out.

I assume most American Muslims decry the massacre at Fort Hood, but their condemnation of violence (a one paragraph statement) rings a little hollow when compared to their vigorous condemnation of books they don’t like and mounting their high horses over hijabs.

My Muslim friends are caught between a rock and a hard place. But it is of their own doing. They want it both ways.

My friend the agreement between you and your X was a rookie mistake! Whatever the papers say goes. The courts are no better than the Mafia, at least with them you know who your enemies are. Whatever you do you have to go back to court to modify ANYTHING or you will get it! The system is set up for the Female no matter how inept they are. I have to pay 700 a month for one child to include health care, and extra activities as you stated as well-I know this all to well.

I despise our leaders (not that they are in ANY way) within the system, its unfair unjust and discriminating against the Fathers. They're is no free thinking, its all based off of MONEY. Their is widespread bias without regard to justice under the law, The lawyers want money and so do the Judges and their institutions (and they get it). They will always give the child to the CRACK HEAD MOM but if the Dad was a Crack head, he would be put away and stripped of parental rights. Besides how many Dads have seen on the news in kill they're own kids, drown, etc.....its always the MOMS. There is no perfect solution yet they're just has to be FAIR and Equal Justice under the Law without personal bias and conviction. This will take some time my friend but no less do your kids right and everything else will fall into place.

What we need to do is take this to the STREETS! Im sick of the Mothers getting everything when they to 80% of the time terrible parents! I could go on and on about this but check out websites around the internet and you'll see corrupt judges and cases in which they have given children to the mother who had no right taking care of them.

I just do not think it is right for companys to check your credit when appling for a job. Unless you are applying to work in a bank or something like that. They say they do it to see what kind of character a person has.Someone mayhave bad credit because of medical bills or something could have happened. If I was applying at AIG i do not think they have a right to check anyones credit because of the character they have. And now after alot of people losing their homes and jobs how can you get a job if they are checking credit.

Our court systems are so biased when it come to the father in a child support case. I have been a good father. I have my 11 year old that i keep 14 out of 28 days, i pay 250 a month and pay for any of her extra curricular activities. We agreed on $450 a month, 9 out of 28 stays.... 5 years ago through the court system. One year into the court ordered childsupport, Me and my ex verbally agreed on increasing the visitation and decreasing the child support to $250. NOW four years later, she left her current husband with two other children and filed a complaint with the court asking for back child support from the $200 dollar diffrence that we agreed on. Totaled over $6000. I have never been late on any payments and have always paid extra to help in anything my daughter wanted. How can this happen????

I would just like to say..........THANK YOU to the couple who stopped to help me on the corner of frontage rd. (And to the two gentlemen who asked if I was ok) My brakes failed as I was attempting to turn onto Jimmie Dyess Parkway. This situation could've resulted in a terrible accident, but thank God I managed to stop my van by using the emergency brakes. Yes, I pannicked at first, and ended up on the wrong side of the street. (to avoid hitting the car in front of me) So, to all those who gave me angry stares, and horn blowing..........think about why a person has on his/her hazard lights before making assumptions that the person is crazy. I wouldn't be in the street on the wrong side of the road, with hazard lights on, just for the heck of it. Usually the south is known for their hospitality, but my goodness.............for a minute there, I thought I was back up north.

I like McDonalds in Aiken. I stop there on my way through between Columbia and Douglasville. Nice place, clean facilities, and pretty good McDonalds. hey, it's McD's it only gets so good, ya know?

We love Giuseppes! Without a doubt you have the best lasagna in town (except for my home made) and your lunch buffet is fantastic. As for good food locally, we enjoy the Snug for steak and yes, the Boll Weavel has wonderful sandwiches and their breads are the best in town. The Honey From The Rock Cafe has a wonderful lunch as well. I have yet to find a good Mexican place in town as EVERY one ta stes exactly the same. The Flying Cowboy is nothing more than Famous Dave's with a slightly expanded menu as they've added steaks. They are fair, but the music is always too loud and the service has never been great. There is also no good Chinese in Augusta. It's just like the Mexican places as they are all identical. You would think the food comes out of one kitchen and is distributed to every one of them. I've still never been to Villa Europa but have heard that it is pretty good. I'm glad there is finally a 5 Guys in town. I used to eat there when I worked in DC. They have the BEST "fast food" burger around. Panera Bread has wonderful pastries in the morning and their soups are always fresh and delicious. I think their servings are a bit small for the price, but overall not bad. I'm not a fan of bbq, but I have been to both Sconyers and Bobby's and prefer the buffet at Bobby's. Too bad they don't have brisket there though. We've also tried almost every downtown joint. 1102 has great pork chops, but it's still a bar like atmosphere. Blue Sky is awful and the service has always been crappy there. We've yet to try the new Broad Street Market...........What happened to the White Elephant? It was closed the last time we tried to go there. They had a good burger in the past. Well, that's just MY 2 cents on the local eateries.

To the annoying people who knock

on my door selling me useless things like magazine subscriptions for 60 dollars, donations to some charity, and useless cleaning products. I am by definition a kind and generous person who will give, when I can. I have a hard time saying no to a nice person. In fact, I hate saying no....so I buy you ridiculously priced magazines, and whatever else you are selling. But no more, tonight I had the courage to say no, to another useless magazine subscription to send your ass to Italy. And I am GLAD i said no, for you had the audacity to turn around and "thank you for wasting my time" EXCUSE ME...IT IS 830 AT NIGHT AND YOU CAME KNOCKING ON MY APARTMENT DOOR. Did you not see the sign on the way into the apartment complex that states NO Solicitation. Can you not read????!!! So NO I did not waste your time, YOU DID.

For now on out, when a starnger knocks on my door, and they do because I am not from Augusta. I will simply say no solicitation or I am not interested. No longer will I fund trips for strangers, that I could never affod.

I used to work at Pizza Hut when I was 16. I was hired as the person to take down phone orders. When the phone wasn't ringing, I helped wash dishes, cook, prep, and run the cash register. One day when it's normally slow, it was just me, 1 cook, and 1 server on shift and two busloads of customers came in. Literally. I had to help serve, since the 1 waitress was all we had right then. The ENTIRE dining room was PACKED. Both me and the waitress were running around like chickens with our heads cut off, trying to serve everyone and keep everyone happy. I'd be running to take one order, then try and get it in the system, but on the way back 6 tables would stop me and order extra crap, like more wings, or a beer, or whatever. By the time I made it back to enter in the first order, I had forgotten half the other extra things. Then when I entered in the stuff and it got cooked, I couldn't remember what table it went to. I tried writing down all the orders and what tables they went to, but tables would stop me even when I had a STACK full of plates and things in my hands, obviously trying to run back to the kitchen with it. If there is a way to remember an order and 6 additional items at different tables, you tell me how to do it because I don't know. And this went on for more than 2 hours. The manager couldn't get any of the off-duty people to come in to help. Customers were pissed, especially at me since I'd never waitressed before and simply could not keep track of half the dining room by myself. And on top of that I still had to answer the phones and run the cash register. Amazingly, not a single customer seemed to realize that there were only two waitresses there and the customers were overflowing the tables. You'd think they would have seen that and been a little more patient. But all they could think about was that I forgot their wings or didn't refill their tea the second it got empty. One couple came in and just sat themselves down because nobody addressed them within the first minute after they walked in (actually never even saw them come in).. then they were pissed because I never took down their order (thought they were the other waitress's customers since I never sat them). They couldn't grasp the concept of waiting to be seated (when Red Lobster or Olive Garden is packed, they make people wait 10, 30, 60 minutes before being seated.. same principle). People just want the world to cater to them whenever they want.

When I go out to eat, I expect a certain standard of service. If my waitress is flighty, I first look to see how many other customers she has. If it's a lot, I forgive her and be patient. But if she's flirting with the cook or standing around doing nothing, then yeah, I'm upset and she gets a poor tip. But seriously people, first find out why your server is screwing up. Sometimes it's legit, sometimes not.

Cheddars, really?

It's just another Applebees-type people. As a waitress who's been in F/B for six years, my advise it to def give the restaurant a few months to work itself out. I would NEVER eat at a place that's just opened. And in any case, it's casual dining. I really don't expect anything that I wouldn't find, as stated before, at Applebees. If you want clean, friendly, polite servers and good Italian food at a great price.. go eat at Giuseppes on Wheeler road. It's privately owner not corporate chain thingamabob, so they DO want to make each person happy. And yes, I do work there. I can honestly say the employees are clean and so is the kitchen. I eat the food too! ;) See ya Friday or Saturday night.. I promise you'll love it!!

You pay them your hard earned money for their service and food. If one or the other is shitty then you grow some balls and and stand up for yourself. Cuss the waitress who is being paid to forget your apetizers out,tell the manager you plan on never coming back because they cannot complete the most simplist of task and it's a waste of your money, and you DO NOT tip someone who didn't earn it!

Some of these resturants should not even be open, but like little piggies you line up in a row to eat your slop and like a ballless mule you pay them for it. If your waitress forgets to bring your food orfill your drinks then ask yourself what else is she forgetting. Maybe to wash her hands after she's picked her nose? Or maybe she forgets to not spit in your food. Hell, even Huddle House expects their employees to have good manners and service. Huddle House fires their employees if they completely forget to bring someone food. But yet you all give this place praise??!!! And what's even more disturbing is that some of you actually take ur wife and kids to these places. I feel for you people, I really do.

Cheddars-and other eats (Augusta,GA)

Hey hey, at least I helped you out and your wait time for a table was shorter. LOL There service leaves a lot to be desired. I'm sure some day I'll be back when others want to try it, I'll get a burger and see how it goes...till then I wish them luck with the bugs and the food. A staff of assholes will not help their cause one bit. Maybe the chicken fried steak isn't there best, at least I didn't wake up puking...that's a few mexican places that have left me ill the next day. Margarita's across from the Cracker Barrel at I-20 & Belair Rd is GREAT small place that is owned by a nice guy that really appreciates everyone that comes in plus I've never felt ill from the food there.
If you want a lot of food for your money go try The Boll Weevil down town. Food ALWAYS taste great...fried green tomato's are real good sometimes and good the rest of the time always better without the balsamic stuff. The wait staff is usually very attentive but they too have bad days.

The little soul food restaurant in the bottom of the House of Prayer church on Wrightsboro Rd down in the hood is an all time favorite for lunch. Good food down there yall! Real GOOD!

I had posted earlier about going there on Monday for lunch. We went back again tonight. I'll have to agree that the service was sub-par. I'm giving them the benefit of the doubt since it is their first few days. We were told 20 minutes for a table and it actually took only 15 which seemed pretty good. Service was prompt at first and we had looked at the menu while waiting so we placed our order quickly. Then she disappeared after bringing our drinks. I thought the appetizer would be there somewhat quickly, but no. I didn't even see the server again until AFTER the food was brought. I pointed this out to the runner who brought the food and within seconds the server was there apologizing for "forgetting" to bring our appetizer. She asked if we still wanted it........No, of course not. Finally a manager came by and asked how things were. When I started to say that we had a problem, she said "yes, I know we forgot your appetizer" and then asked if we would come back...........I know they need to get their legs, so I'm going to wait about a month before going back again.

I will say again, they give you LOTS OF FOOD for the money and the food was great. The service sucks, but I'll give them one more chance.

I went to Cheddars today for lunch. You would think a new business would be on up of their game. The food was great dont get me wrong but the service is what will keep me from going back. Our server seem to think he was doing us a favor by refilling our drinks. Actually told my coworker that she drank like a camel. When i stated that was rude to say, he rolled his eyes and said whatever. I asked for a manager and the manager stated that the server said he refilled her drink 4 times. ask to be excused came back with another glass for my coworker and stated that should fix the problem for server because he had other guest to help. Goes to show it is just like most of the places in Augusta, POOR SERVERS. But you know i did leave a tip because this server needed it more than me especially with that attitude.

Glad to hear you won't be going back. That means it won't be so crowded when I do. I've been to them in other cities and the service was excellent. I tried the new Augusta store on Monday, the first day and had few problems, just a couple little glitches, but it was within their FIRST HOUR of being open.

Their prices are VERY fair and appetizers are where they make extra profit, so of course they are going to push them.

As for burgers, even with fries they are under $7.00 and are big and juicy. My lunch was under $9.00 and I even took some home with me, which is rare. ( I NEVER drink soda or tea, so I always save $2.00 or better at every meal out).

Yes, we'll be going back! It's by far the best deal in town for a "corporate" restaurant.

Cheddar's Restaurant-I won't be back (Augusta,GA)

Tried it for lunch. Nice place inside, cool fish tank and fan but the booths sit you straight up so you don't feel like staying longer than you have to.
I won't be back any time soon. Tried the "chicken fried steak" and it tasted terrible. Meat tasted like the steaks in a box in a vacuum sealed bag(yes I bought the Bubba steaks in a box...once). Every one you encounter will push you hard to order an appetizer. Our waitress was a bit duh huh, kept disappearing and my friend's salad showed up after his chicken pot pie did, the server moved his entree over to sit the salad down as to say let that get cold while you eat this warm salad. Managers kept trying to have mini huddles with the wait staff in the middle of the aisles, get the fugg out the way blue shirts. Well chance it if you dare, maybe the other meats tastes better but I won't be back anytime soon. Oh yeah and prices, they are fair but notice if you add fries to a burger, its the same as any other restaurant. $12 each for lunch with the tip was what it cost us.
