Hello. We are redoing our website and are almost to the part where we'll be needing the photos done, so.... I was wanting to get a few "bids" on what you would charge. I would post what I'd pay, but honestly, I have no idea what the going rate is, and I know there are people out there that may want a little extra cash. So, if you have any experience photographing products, (ours would be light bulbs) then please get back to me with what you think would be reasonable. Although I have no horse in this race, you both have points--yet, this "get a life" reaction misses the point.

I too "apprenticed" after changing careers ten years after graduation. I too had considerable success--discovering a vocation with true passin in which I became recognized as one of the leading practitioners in the field and commissioned to write two books on the techniques I developed from my "apprenticeship."

"Apprentice/Apprenticeship" is the appropriate terminology for one who contributes his/her unpaid or under-compensated (understood and approved) labor in exchange for the opportunity to "learn" from a professional/expert/tutor/mentor.

"Intern/Internship" can LEGALLY imply that it is being conducted through and in conjunction with some academic institution AND WILL NOT ONLY TRAIN BUT CREDIT THE "INTERN" WITH ACADEMIC BENEFITS ON HIS/HER CREDENTIAL REQUIREMENTS.


You had a great experience, I did too...BUT if an "INTERN?" is misled intentionally or otherwise OR CLAIMS HE/SHE WAS--tell me, WOULD YOU LIKE THE LEGAL HASSLE OF DEFENDING YOURSELF FOR MISTAKENLY IGNORING THE LAW?

This has been posted several times, although I don't think it is understood. Internships are for school credit, so you should really be working with a school, not posting ads in Craigslist. Most of the "internship" opportunities advertised on Craigslist are illegal attempts to get free labor and will NEVER provide gainful employment to the intern. Again as I said, Internships are scholastically related. If you are offering an apprenticeship, then please list it as such, and if you are looking for volunteer labor, then please, also list it as such, but don't try to get free labor for your company that obviously isn't doing enough business to make money for it's employees. It is illegal to have someone work for your company without paying them. I'm looking for someone that can play random arty images on a screen for a party on Dec 3rd.

Civil Engineer/ Foundation PE (Austin Hyde Park)

I'm seeking a Civil engineer with a PE to help design the foundation and check the structural plans for my single family home and garage. (I'm a PE myself but I don't have much experience in the areas of foundations and structures.) This is a perfect short term, moonlighting type of job to earn a little extra cash. The structures are relatively small: A 2 story, 2000+ sq. ft. main house and a 400 sq. ft detached garage with a home office above. Soil studies haven't been done, but I have limestone 2-3 feet below grade. I'm looking for a post tension foundation and would require your services to inspect the work pre and post pour. A full plot survey including elevations was done recently and is available in dxf and dwg formats. Additionally, the floor plan, elevation, and McMansion set back drawings are available in dxf , dwg and tcw formats.

Local Indie Producer Comissioning Concept Art for Films (Austin, TX)

UT Art and Interior Design students (Pflugerville)

I am looking for a college student(s) that is/are majoring in art and interior design. I want mural type artwork (mythology themed based on the percy jackson books) for my oldest son's (he is 10) room. Once upon a time i was an environmental/communication design (basically architecture) student so I know how important it can be to add to your portfolio. make me a platinum blonde without making my hair fall out (Cherrywood)

I'm a former hairstylist/hair color specialist who's never enjoyed coloring my own hair. I have level 2-3 hair, it's fairly short now (roughly an inch and a quarter) and I want to make a 3rd attempt to be a platinum blonde. I tried once in high school, which landed me as a model in a hair show. That was cool, but all they could get me to was a sandy blond. It was flattering, but not what I wanted.
Then I tried again in my early twenties. I was working at a high end salon in Austin, and after a few attempts by an intern I was sure enough platinum. But not without my hair breaking off. To be fair, it was shoulder length and it'd been colored with a red base color before. After a few days, I shaved it off.

So I'm 28, I have very short virgin hair and I am challenging Austin hairstylists to make me a platinum blonde. I want it as close to white as it will get without being a bic job.
I'm not rich, so I can't pay Jackson Ruiz prices. But, I know this kind of hair takes maintenance and I'd like to grow my hair out a bit longer and continue bleaching it.

Which means, if you know you can give me what I want- you'll have a steady client every 3 weeks. I'm experienced in the field, so I'm taking this pretty seriously. Send me pics of what you've done, and I'll send you pics of what I want ( I have pics with wigs)
