Will Robinson and the Danger is looking for another band to share a practice space with at the Music Lab on St. Elmo. We're all in our early to mid 20s but age isn't a problem here. We've been practicing at our house but we finally had the cops show up and tell us we'd receive a citation if someone calls in a noise complaint again.. so that's where Music Lab comes in. he just picked up his sticks and went with it, its very loose and sonically not the best...
but we're very excited and we're wanting to put a team together and get some momentum going
...we're in the midst of coming into a BASS player (not a sure thing)...but being only two people, you can tell that other instruments will take an already very full sound to a whole 'nother level

i wouldn't mind working on music with people who are inclined to play out from time to time(or all the time). i realize i am over the hill, but i'm not bad at my instrument and i'm devoted to the right project.

Espada Indoor Percussion (Austin)

Looking for frontline and battery persons for an "independent" indoor program in it's 2nd year of existence between the ages of 16-22 yrs of age. Potential members should have experience in high school/college marching band, indoor winterguard/percussion or junior/senior drum and bugle corps. Fees are set at $200 for the 2009-2010 season and the program plays on yamaha equipment (battery and frontline). Espada will be competing at various TECA/TCGC performances for the coming season.

Must have years of experience playing live
Have experience touring small or larger scale, can sing backup vocals, can perform and entertain on stage, has his/her own GEAR, is willing to set aside other projects (We do have our music coming up on the T.V. internationally courtesy of Red Bull, FUEL/MTV 2, so this band has to be your priority), and is willing to pull his/her own weight when it comes to promotion, booking, talking to agents, etc. We are a DIY machine and have finished 3 tours since April, ( of course we have toured before that as well). We have been a band for years. We do have connections in the industry, but we are still cutting our teeth to make a name for ourselves. I'm pretty sure Berklee College of Music doesn't have a graduate program, which means you can't get your masters degree there. Hello- We are an all-acoustic group from the Austin area, already heavily booked, with a good debut CD out that has sold "well enough" online and at performances to have been reprinted several times over, etc. etc. We get extraordinarily good feedback at all of our performances and I have lately thought about seeking someone (either a "real" professional or even someone studying the music business, or even someone who would just like to get a little experience in booking/managing music) to either give a try at booking more "lucrative" shows or helping manage in general. I have been doing all of that up to now and although I am capable I need to devote some more time to creative endeavors! The Zappa show at Stubbs tonight was fantastic. Eric Johnson sat in, and was amazing as ever. Just writing to inform the world that Dweezil did his work, and Frank would be pleased. Dweezil's mannerisms and speaking cadence are so connected to Frank it can bowl you over.

hello and thank you for taking the time to read my post. ok, so here it goes.

i am looking to start a "band" - the point behind this is that it wont be so much of a band but more of a project. i would like to find individuals who are passionate about ALL TYPES of music - rockabilly, folk, thrash, funk, dirty, synth-pop, old mickey mouse music, surf, old western, circus, big band (from the 30's 40's) and also ambient and IDM. i am in a music scene where so much can be done and so much diversity is out there and my plan is to kind of bring it all under one roof. i am looking for musicians with a sense of humor but will take the music very seriously. i dont care about your age, your gender, your color, just have a good sense of humor, be a team player, and be serious about what you create. i would really like for all or most of us to rotate instruments as well...its just something i personally would like to do. also, i would also want people who are willing to dress up, we could goto goodwill spend 15 bucks on some humorous clothes and outfits...no street clothes - the reason behind this is i'd also like for some songs to be somewhat theatrical...and there is really no limit to the amount of cats in this project - if we have 13 people all playing music that would be great!

now i have not played music in awhile - i am rusty and need practice so a jam space down south would be choice. honestly i am not bringing much to the table here other than getting like minded musicans together to jam, dance, and freak out...i have a mac so we could use that for anything - i dont really care. the current mainstream music scene eats me alive, i just want to create something beautful for us all to enjoy.

Hey guys, we're a younger rather inexperienced "indieish" band, all of us are 20-21 years old. Three guys and a girl. We're looking for a solid drummer, not a pro, but doesn't totally suck either. What we're looking for is passion and a willingness to improve individually and as a band. We have a few fully arranged songs that you'll need to learn, and being able to contribute drum parts would help us out a lot, but not necessary (but yeah it would help me out a lot since I don't play drums)

Preferably people with similar tastes, and can fit the "look" and is around our age. The bands I listed in the title are just a few off the top of my head that some of us like. It shouldn't be too hard, but if you're some heavy metal guy with eyeliner and hair down to your waist you'll probably look awkward standing with us on stage. I laid out the idea for this still-forming band last week, and the post is below somewhere. We're all set except for lead guitar. This outfit will play a mix of Abba, Costello, and some hip pop tunes from the golden age. I already know other people do something like this. I wouldn't tell you not to play the blues or R&B or metal because someone is already doing it. And plenty of ads here are brazen enough to claim to be original bands looking for players who sound like someone else. So, thanks for the heads up, but I want to do this to have fun, not to impress music critics with my daring originality. There is nothing new under the sun.

Anyone know any good electric piano techs around? I've heard that Fred Ross is the man for this stuff, but can't find anyone with his contact info.

austin - tell me what's up! (south bend, indiana)

i am currently in a band from south bend, indiana that is considering a move to a larger, more musically diverse area. we are strongly considering a move to austin and we were just wondering what musicians in the area thought of the local music scene. we are a trio with drums, sax, and 7-string guitar (a la charlie hunter style) that draws influences from radiohead, soulive, battles, jaga jazzist, coltrane, miles, MMW, tortoise, charlie hunter, mice parade, etc. i've posted similar things on other cities craigs and have basically received a bunch of letters saying how naive i am to think i can move to a big city and make it. that's not what we're trying to do, we just want to move somewhere where our efforts might be appreciated, even if not financially. if any area musicians could please contribute some advice/input as to how a sound like ours might do in your fair city, we'd greatly appreciate it. thanks!

also, any programmers in the area that would want to hook up if/when we move there, please let me know. we are also really into squarepusher, amon tobin, bjork and other jazz/fusion/trip-hop/experimentally geared electronica and would love to collaborate to make some really unique, beautiful music.

Need 2nd Fem Vocalist for Pop/Rock covers & originals (78704)

We already have one who plays guitar and sings. She needs someone to sing the harmony parts when she is on the lead vocals. You will also sing lead on half of the songs. We do not expect you to play an instrument but if you do, thats cool also. That seems to be a deal breaker for most, with us not so much. We just need that 2nd strong fem vocalist to make us sound fuller on the vocals with the harmonies. Must be familiar with popular music (top 40) from pop rock and dance rock styles over the last few decades.Majority of the cover material we play is instantly recognizable. We will also play your radio friendly originals. If you are in multiple bands, please no as it will not work out because this will require way too much homework on your part to multi-task us into your schedule. We meet once a week. We meet on Tuesdays at the StElmo MusicLab at 8pm. If you want a small list of songs we need your help on, please reply.
