•Ensures compliance with policies and procedures necessary to fulfill accreditation requirements for Literacy Services.

Qualifications:

Teen Group Counselor (Bastrop, Texas)

Established in 1991, the Down Syndrome Association of Central Texas (DSACT) provides much-needed programs and services at no cost to individuals with Down syndrome and their families. Our mission is to provide education, support, and resources to individuals with Down syndrome, their families, professionals, and the community, while building public awareness and acceptance of the abilities of individuals with Down syndrome.

The grantwriter will immediately compile, write, and edit specific previously identified grants from boilerplate language. Upon stellar performance, grantwriter may be asked to write additional grants and complete additional duties as outlined below as necessary.

ESSENTIAL DUTIES:
• Compile, write, and edit all grant applications exhibiting strong expository writing skills and a high-level command of grammar and spelling;
• Review the budget of a project or program for which funding is sought and make recommendations to better present it to grant-making organizations;
• Develop individual grant proposals in accordance with each grant-making organization's preferences and follow exactly each grant-making organization's guidelines;
• Through interviews and other means, gather information that will easily allow him/her to grasp the concept of a project or program for which funding is sought as defined by the person responsible for carrying it out;
• Acquire and maintain sound knowledge and understanding of the organization, and use that knowledge and understanding to better comprehend all projects and programs for which grants will be sought and to recommend the seeking of grants;

• Research grant-making organizations and analyze them to identify likely funding sources for specific projects and programs; and
• Keep in contact with grant-making organizations during their review of a submitted grant application in order to be able to supply additional supportive material.


QUALIFICATIONS:
Bachelor’s degree in related discipline with a minimum of two years of related experience and proven track record in grant writing and program development. Candidate must have excellent written and verbal communication skills, be proficient in research, interpreting, and analyzing diverse data and possess the ability to work collaboratively and independently to achieve stated goals, as well as experience with and knowledge of computer operation.
