Software Engineers needed for Angel Funded start-up ASAP (Stanford, CA)

Here's an opportunity to work at an Angel Funded startup called CareerElement. We are looking for full time and part-time engineers. However, part time engineers must be especially qualified; we love to hire brilliant engineers with degrees from top universities and companies such as Google and Yahoo. Qualified candidates will possess good time management skills. Individuals must be able to commit at least 20 hours a week for part time. Scheduling is flexible, however at least 2 days must be on site at Stanford. We are currently in the process of getting funding, so we are able to offer up to $2000 a month with equity depending on background and experience; then full salary once
we are fully funded. The following positions are available:

Software Engineer
The ideal person has some familiarity with one of the following: PHP,
MySQL, CSS, or AJAX. You would be expected to help plan, research,
develop logic, code, document, test, and deploy several Web projects
with minimal assistance. You should know how to build a professional
and technically challenging website, as well as modify and build on
existing code.
This is an equity only opportunity plus salary once we are funded. Our
beta will be released in August; with some success we will be able to
raise venture capital.
The organization is flat and provides an opportunity to get in on the
ground floor and create a more senior architect or leadership position
as the organization forms.
Requirements:
- Software Engineer - Back-end:
o Web 2.0 experience
o Significant experience in Java, PHP on MVC platform
o Object Oriented design and development
o Solid development skills
o Comfortable in a Unix environment
- Software Engineer - Front-end:
o Experience in XHTML, PHP, CSS, JavaScript and comfortable in a Unix
environment
o Strong design skills. Ability to support visual design
o Knowledge of common design tools and common PHP Frameworks
o Experience with different web browsers (Internet Explorer, Firefox, Safari)

- C, C++, .Net, Ruby on Rails, Django are plusses
- BS/MS in Computer Science or equivalent. MS preferred.
- Degree from top tier university
- Highly entrepreneurial, flexible and extremely hard working. "Gets
things done"
- Good verbal and written communication skills
- Must work well both in a small team environment and on own
OR

QA Engineer
As a QA Engineer, your duties will include the development and
enhancement of test plans, the creation of test cases and data, and
the execution of tests in a fast-paced, challenging environment. The
position requires interaction with developers, business
representatives, and customers. Both white box and black box testing
experience is required for this position. The incumbent should
possess the following:

3 – 5 years experience as a Software QA Engineer
Strong knowledge of Quality Assurance processes
Ability to develop and execute test plans for both manual and automated testing
Knowledge of Perl scripting a plus
Strong knowledge of Linux
Strong UI testing experience
Strong knowledge of SVN, Bugzilla
Experience with developing and executing stress/load/performance tests
B.S. in Computer Science or related field
Ability to work as a team in a distributed software development environment
Ability to meet deadlines
Self-starter
Strong communication skills

Highly Desired
PHP, SQL, Perl
Experience with MySQL database (or other RDBMS)
Test automation experience – Selenium, JUnit, phpUnit, testing frameworks
BS/MS in Computer Science or equivalent. MS preferred.

OR

Build/Release Engineer
The ideal person will take full control of specified product
release-related activities such as source code control, software build
packaging and deployment across global environments. Some of the
responsibilities include:
Tracking and auditing change histories.
Debugging build and runtime problems.
Defining and maintaining a build process.
Executing scheduled application builds and deployments.
Providing support for application and environment configuration issues.
Coordinating with QC and development teams to support and resolve build issues.
Updating release branches in source control system.
Build and test software release packages.
Champion continuous integration concepts and strive for full automated
build, test and release processes.
Ensure all changes are traceable to an approved project or incident/defect.
The incumbent should possess the following:
BS in Computer Science or other technical field.
4+ years experience in software engineering, release engineering
and/or configuration management.
Experience with software configuration management systems and/or
source code version control systems. Subversion a big plus.
Experience with deploying virtual hardware or cloud environments.
Experience in integration of defect tracking system seamlessly with
build process
Skill with one or more scripting languages such as Ant, Java and Javascript.
Experience building Linux (PHP, Java) applications.
Experience with MySQL deployments
Ability to work well with developers, QC/test engineers, and
non-engineering personnel.
Detail oriented and results driven.
Strong organizational and communication skills, both verbal and written.

We are a world class team of 60+ engineers and PhDs from top schools
such as Harvard, Stanford, MIT, and Cal. After 1 year of hard work, we
will be launching our beta at the end of this month.
