We (Covenant) are teaming up with Albertsons this hoilday season to help feed victims of child abuse and neglect. When you shop at the following Albertsons, Brundage Ln., Mt. Vernon Ave., and Panama Ln. from Nov. 17 through Nov. 24 you can donate $1 or $5 dollars as you are checking out and that money will go to help provide these children/families with a food basket this holiday season. new vegan restaurant in Bakersfield (Bakersfield)

We have a new vegan restaurant in Bakersfield, Elaine's Cafe, at 1717 G Street, at 20th, down from the Fox Theater. Relaxing atmosphere, nice people, great food. It's getting a really positive response, too, which is so cool for this meat and potato town. Desserts are out of this world and they make their own ice creme which is cashew and almond based.
They are offering a vegan cooking class next wk and are also offering to cook your Thanksgiving meal... nice alternative.
