Position will develop system I&T plans and procedures for complex observatory ground systems and performs system integration and acceptance testing. Analyze to determine cause and develop safety measures and/or training to prevent incidents from recurring.

INSPECTION – Conduct project safety inspections (using computer software program – DBO2) at the jobsite for self-perform and subcontractor work. Safety Manager has authority to immediately intervene in a situation where imminent danger of loss of life and/or extreme property damage exists. See that deficiencies brought to Superintendent and Foremen’s attention are corrected in a timely manner. Project Engineer (Washington D.C. area)

SUMMARY:

The Project Engineer is the chief engineer on the project. He will be familiar with the roles of the Supt. and PM and will assist them in managing all construction processes to reach the goals set for the project. Duties will include, but are not limited to, scheduling, purchasing, submittal review, preplanning, safety, layout, production management, and project closeout.

PRIMARY DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:

• Participate in all preplanning activities
• Interprets designs and drawings; Assists with constructability reviews and value engineering functions; Researches and recommends resolutions to drawing interpretation problems, conflicts and errors
• Prepares RFIs. Maintains RFI logs and timely response to job questions

• Ensures craft time cards are completed accurately, reflecting hours worked and tasks worked on; assigns cost codes to all purchases, time cards, contracts, equipment time and any other item involving cost
• Assists Superintendent with daily job reports and schedule monitoring
• Performs layout duties as required by the Superintendent

• Maintains all safety records unless an safety manager is on-site
