Hiring Teaching Artists (NE Baltimore)

Coldstream Homestead Montebello Community Corporation (CHMCC) is hiring teaching artists to explore issues of nutrition and health for Saturday Arts Brunches.
CHMCC was awarded a community arts grant to make an arts cookbook. So, we’re doing what we do best: eating together.

CHMCC invites local community artists (poets, musicians, printmaking, photography, painting, sculpture, we’re open to ideas all kinds!) to submit creative proposals to create community art in conjunction with our monthly Community Brunch.

On the first Saturday of each month from January to July, 2010, the CHMCC Center will host a “Taste of CHuM” Arts Brunch. About 20-25 CHM residents of all ages will come together for a brunch and arts workshop, exploring issues of nutrition and health, whose art and recipes will be featured in “The Taste of CHuM” Arts cookbook, and sold and displayed all over town. The art that comes from these workshops may be used in marketing materials and flyers throughout our community to promote nutrition and health as well.

Each brunch/ arts workshop can be up to 3 hours (probably 1 hour to eat together, 2 hours for arts workshop - but you can restructure if needed for worskhop idea). We are looking forward to creative proposals from passionate teaching artists!

Stipend: Nutritious Brunch & $150.00 per 2 hour workshop
