In search of a drums and lead guitar to join bass and guitar (20's) (Severna Park)
We are a bass player and a guitar player (mostly rhythm, plus singing) in search of a drummer and a second guitar player to join us in our musical endeavors. We play an eclectic blend of pop/alternative rock the likes of which mostly sound like 90's and early 00's music. Not looking to do metal or anything like that, but we do play some stuff by RATM, Metallica, etc. when we are just screwing around jamming. Influences range all decades and genres, so we are hoping to find other musicians who are as widely influenced and open-minded. I have read these postings with amusement and have not responded till someone tries to pass themself off as me. I am Buddy Ivory. I own the copyrights, trademark, and ascap rights to our original material.
I will give everyone a little background. I was laid off my full time job this past year so the whole band thing has been a constant learning experience; especially being out of music for many years and really no desire to work again.
Yes it is true I joined a so called whore train basically out of ignorance not knowing how they worked. I am not going to comment one way or the other about any posts except to say that we have tried to build an online presence with some success and some not successful. As I said it has been a learning experience.
We know that each myspace friend request has to be captcha verified by the requester and each one of the people on the site have requested to be added.
Where they came from I have no idea.
I will say that if one does a search for original music download we will come up #1 on google natural search and many of the other engines as well. We have been able to get our cd on many independent radion stations all over the place. In the scheme of things may not be much but I have spent many hours trying to learn how to do this after years of basically being out of music and only having to get back into it out of necessity.
So if it makes you feel big to try to bash us go ahead. The most immediate result I can see from all this nonsense is a spike in online traffic. For that I will say thanks.
As I tell all my friends my favorite saying is whatever goes around comes around. Everything you do in life comes back to you.

I listened to the songs on their site and let me just say i wasn't impressed. On a few songs, some of the instruments are completely out of sync with the others...it's actually kind of weird how you can even be that far off...and the singing is..well..mediocre at best. Overall, a very amateurish sounding band. but, hey they do have 9000 friends on Myspace...

He's trying to say that these 9000 friends he has on myspace are fans of his. They're not. They picked him at random from the myspace whoretrain and they never listened to his music. GO TO TONSOFMYSPACEADDS.COM AND CLICK "TOP USERS OVERALL" AND YOU'LL SEE THAT BUDDY'S NUMBER 7. The way Whoretrains work is that they give you 5 random myspace sites and you get a point everytime you send a friend request to them. Since Mr. Ivory has over 8,500 in points, that means that he sent 8,500 myspace requests to random people and at least 8,500 of his "FANS" are basically phony. They never listened to his music. He's telling people to come to his show under false pretenses. It's a joke.

I've been a DJ for 8 years and started producing beats on MPC & Pro Tools about 5 years ago. I run a DJ business and perform and collaborate with a few bands and hip-hop groups, but I am looking for a rapper (or possibly a song writer or singer interested in hip-hop) who wants to be the half of the engine for a new hip-hop project. My beats are mostly sample heavy, drawing alot on 70s funk music, often very old school feel, but I sample shit from all over the place. Hi, I'm a 27 yrs old guitarist with 11 years experience. I am looking to form a punk/pop-punk band with the goal of creating an album of songs about Washington D.C. I'm looking to hook up with a singer, drummer, and bassist. My primary punk/pop-punk influences include Rise Against, Green Day, and Offspring. Note, I am in Alexandria,VA, and I know it's far from Baltimore, but willing to drive up to Baltimore on the weekends if I find like-minded musicians.
The lyrics are commentary on the current state of the Washington DC music scene, political scene, and social life. Songs written so far range from "United We Fall," a more serious political/social punk song about gentrification in DC neighborhoods to the party-vibe pop-punk tune "Drunk on the Metro."

Don't know what the big deal. If a band gets followers online and/or sells music online or whatever exposure is exposure. In today's economy I think that any promotion a group can get is a good thing. You can not fake myspace signups for fans. There is quite a bit of cross marketing going on online and they are just one of them it seems.
