I don't agree with Odickhead on anything and i'll not agree with him on this issue either. However, there is nothing in the law that preludes an employee (without a contract) from leaving an employer at anytime he chooses, so there should be nothing to preclude an employer from terminating an employee at his descrection as well. The law should (and i believe it does) mandate that all benefits and entitlements due an employee be paid immediately at time of termination. If you think about it, this is only fair and makes good common sense.

Again with the broad brush. It's a "nice sounding" assumption, but it's neither true nor provable. You have NO WAY OF KNOWING that Pro Obama make that assumption. The best you have is a few cases where you've seen it to be true. What IS true is that when people make such broad statements, many pro-Obama people realize how bad the argument is, and start looking for WHY the statement was made. Racism is commonly a factor. But it's not the only one. Ignorance plays a large role as well.

Although personally I do believe the Earth is going through a warming period... I just don't believe for one second that it's caused by human activity. It's simply what the Earth has always done, and would be doing whether we were here or not. In fact, it's on the colder-end of the global temperature scale once you go back far enough. We could use some warming!

It was particularly gratifying to Gordon, who had struggled at the 1.5-mile track before winning earlier this year. It was also at Texas, in 1999, where Gordon suffered one of the hardest impacts of his career during a crash 68 laps into the March 500-miler.
"We've been very close," Gordon said. "There were times when I really thought we had a pole. It's like a win. You hope you get it early and accomplish it and get it out of the way so you don't think and worry about it -- it doesn't build -- especially when you've done 16 years in a row.

Kahne said he was disappointed to fall .021 seconds short of Gordon's 28.255-second lap time.
"That was the best lap I think I've ran all year, as far as any qualifying session, and we were right there," Kahne said. "So it is what it is. But it'll be a good spot on Sunday, starting second, being up front and having a good pit stall. I always enjoy coming to Texas, so it should be pretty exciting."

I had it all worked out. I worked in the Supply area for my company and it was 2 blocks away from the Dispatcher so he had no idea what time I got there in the morning and since the techs had keys to the main area I would just leave the supplies there with thier names on them and I would show up at 8-830 and he would never know. I guess I should add that I would put down 7:30 on my time sheet. So I have been getting away with this for about 4 weeks, at least that is what i thought till today. When I walked over to see him he said i have something for you. Then he gave me a Pink Slip and very Calmly said "Your Thieving Ass is Fired" I was shocked I said what is your Proof... And he said "Who's car do you think gets Parked in your Spot Everyday at 8!" . I am an Idiot. What's the difference between the headline (also known as U3) and U6? Both are published by the BLS (Bureau of Labor and Statistics) but the U3 counts only those who are completely out of any work and are still actively looking for work. How do they determine who is actively looking for work? That's a really good question for which no solid answer exists. The U6=the U3+those who would like to work full time but can only find part time work (a guy who goes from making 70k/year to 10k/yr at Walmart shows up in the U6 but not the U3)+"discouraged workers." Discouraged workers are defined as those who are out of work, have been looking for work, would like to work, but have as far as the BLS is concerned, given up looking for a job. The U3 is currently known as the "headline" or "official" unemployment rate, but the U6 has been gaining recent attention. Way back in the 1930's the headline rate was calculated the same way our U6 is calculated. To rephrase, at 17.5% we are already at a Great Depression unemployment level. Additionally, we have now lost a net total of jobs every month for 22 straight months, a first for recorded history dating back to 1939.
Congress' solution is to once again extend unemployment benefits. While this is a good short term fix for the unemployed, who will pay for that? The employed. Unemployment insurance costs are already rising all around the country and as I explained before, as a payroll tax they tax gross revenues instead of net profits and can push a small business into the red. This is not sustainable.
The only sustainable escape from our current malaise is reducing and eliminating tax and regulatory barriers to entry for small business. Why does no one ever talk about tax cuts for middle and lower incomes? For less than we have spent on the bank bailouts we could have suspended all federal income tax and even Social Security and Medicare tax on the bottom 75% of wage earners for 2 years. I'm not saying that would be the best solution, I am only illustrating the magnitude of money that those we elected and if history is any indication those we will re-elect decided to move from the working class to the investor class.

I like the Big Sexy Hair products in the big red cans and sometimes if I have one too many mousse or hairspray at home and I can't afford to buy a new bottle of it I just take it to Rite Aid, Safeway, Giant, or CVS and tell them that I bought the wrong one. I ask them if I can exchange it out and they always let me even without the receipt! If I exchange the mousse out for the hairspray they give me the $1.60 back! So it's like THEY are paying ME to buy it from them! *hehehehe* I don't think that this is wrong because really we're just trading. I'm trading them a mousse/hairspray for hairspray/mousse.
Today was a pretty good day (All over)
I spent some time at the nursing home today, I went there to see my Mom.There is a lady that shares her room,she is totally blind..She asked me to talk with her before I left and I did.like i said she cant see at all,so her television was off but she sat in her corner of her room in complete silence.She held my hand and we prayed together,she did all the talking.It just really touched me how much love she had to give.She told me how much God loved me and her hands were so soft holding mine.I just thought about her situation,spending everyday there alone except maybe to get her meds,or her food tray from a busy nurse.When i left it really made me think,.I run around bitching about things being so screwed up in my daily life and this poor sweet lady lives completely in darkness,alone and she can be so happy and even be able to share it with me.Life is not so bad as we might think.Just remember the way some of us have to live everyday when your ready to complain about it.
