Our company is seeking a Human Resources Assistant/Scheduler. Responsibilities for this position are scheduling the work force using criteria of high complexity. Other duties will include assisting with payroll, benefits, hiring, workers compensation and discipline etc. in a multi-shift, seasonal operation with up to 1100 employees.
This position requires a commitment to work 12 hours/day, 7 days/week. Bilingual Spanish preferred.
Job Requirements
2+ years experience in human resources, preferably in a manufacturing environment; familiarity with state and federal employment regulations; proficiency in MS Word, Excel, HRIS, and payroll systems; effective oral and written communication skills; strong analytical and problem solving skills; and proven ability to organize and prioritize work effectively.

Flakeboard America Limited is a US company manufacturing composite panel (particleboard and medium density fiberboard). Flakeboard America was formed when 6 manufacturing facilities were purchased from Weyerhaeuser Company in July of 2006 by Flakeboard Company Limited based in Markham, ON, Canada. The family owned parent company was formed in 1960 and is one of the most well respected names in the industry.
Flakeboard is currently seeking a Human Resource Manager for its Louisiana Particleboard operation which employs 140 hourly and salaried employees. This position will be located at the plant site in Simsboro, La and will report to the Director of Human Resources.
Responsible for coordinating all HR activities for the plant as well as provide company level HR support for other Flakeboard manufacturing operations in the US
Provide oversight, coaching and direction for the Administrative Staff who have responsibility for day to day Administrative functions
Leadership in development of HR policies & guidelines, interpretation and communication of HR policies and guidelines to managers and employees
Coordinate the annual wage and salary reviews at the plant
Lead functional areas of HR such as compensation, employee relations, employment law, issue resolution, training and development, performance management, succession planning and change management
Assist in negotiating and managing vendor contracts in the region
Provide advice and direction on ADA, FMLA, Workers Compensation, employment related legal matters, affirmative action and recruitment and selection of employee
Manage the labor agreement and assist with grievance resolution
Requirements
6+ years of professional HR work experience
Labor Relations experience including grievance resolution and labor agreement administration preferred
Knowledge and understanding of Federal and State laws and regulations and legal issues which impact employment
College degree with emphasis on Human Resources Management, Business or related fields preferred
Experience in training, coaching, employment law and employee relations
Computer proficiency in Microsoft Office, Word, Excel and the internet
Excellent written and verbal communications skills, and strong presentation, facilitation, project management and coaching skills
Must maintain a high degree of professionalism and confidentiality and be able to effectively work with others
Ability to work independently, prioritize work and manage time effectively
Ability to develop realistic action plans and identify and resolve problems in a timely manner
Ability to adapt to changes in the work environment, manage competing demands and deal with frequent change, delays or unexpected events
Willingness to travel on limited basis as necessary

Coordinate site visits, interviews and other related recruitment activities. Supervise employee training.
Clarify contracts and answer questions as needed. Process management for state license, DEA license and credentialing.
Pursuance of leads.
Work directly with the CEO of the hospital to redirect business and help with local internal recruiting.
Work as a liaison between the Physician practice and hospital.
