Ayurveda and Yoga experience December 7 - December 27, 2009 February 1 - February 21, 2010 Ayurveda is a 5000 years old Indian health care system that is widely practiced even today. "Ayur" in Sanskrit means "life" and "Veda" means "science". It is a perfect Science of health and longevity. This holistic science is the knowledge of complete balance of the body, mind and spirit, including the emotions and psychology, on all levels. It includes in its consideration, longevity, rejuvenation and self-realization therapies through herbs, diet, exercise, yoga, massage, aromas, tantras, mantras, and meditation. According to Ayurvedic tradition, health is the balance of elements air, earth, fire, and water, and illness is an excess or deficiency of any particular element. Ayurveda treats illness at its source, rather than at the level of symptoms, and helps an individual to take responsibility for their own health and well being. Ayurveda is also known as 'Ashtanga Veda' (the word literally means 'Eight branches of knowledge') as it is divided into eight specialized branches. Yoga is a complete science of life that originated in India several thousands of years ago. It is the oldest system of personal development in the world, encompassing the entire body, mind and spirit. It is the union between a person's own consciousness and the universal consciousness. The classical techniques of Yoga date back more than 5,000 years. The word Yoga means "to join or yoke together," and it brings the body and mind together into one harmonious experience.

International volunteers will be learning the Basics of Yoga and Ayurveda in these three weeks of the project. Every day, there will be topics covered by a professional master (the person in charge of yoga and ayurveda classes), which will be practiced by the volunteers. Yoga will be practiced every day.
Apart from this, the volunteers will also help at the herbal garden and the nearby school. Furthermore, the volunteers will support a local school in need of simple renovation work. The volunteers will also interact with the children teaching them basic English and Mathematics, Health and Hygiene awareness, environmental protection, etc.

LOST CLASS RING (Dowlen Rd Area)

I lost my class ring from college on Wednesday, October 21. I was shopping at The Spirit Halloween Store, Rue 21, Party City, JC Penneys, and Forever 21, and I think it may have fallen off in the dressing rooms somewhere. It has a garnet in it, and two cubic zirconia on the sides. Around the stone says "Centenary College 1825" and the sides say "2009" and "BA English." My name is also inscribed in the inside.

This is probably a shot in the dark, but if you've found it, PLEASE return it to me. I only just graduated and really love that ring. Also, it's fake stone and has my name on it, so it really has very little value to anyone but me.

Cat and Kittens Adoption at Petsmart in Beaumont
EVERY Saturday from 12:30-5pm

All God's Creatures has many kittens and cats in rescue looking for homes. It's been a BAD year for kitties! Sadly, so many are being abandoned or dumped like TRASH! The kittens posted here were the lucky ones that made it to rescue and ready for their new homes.

Unless we get more adoptions and support other unfortunate babies won't be so lucky. Won't you come out and possibly adopt a new family member. Please, open your heart and home to a rescue cat.

Our adoption fee is $80 which helps with the vetting. Our cats have been neutered/spayed, vaccinated, tested for FeLV/FIV, microchipped, treated for fleas and dewormed.
