Hello, my name is Jacquee and I am looking for a position as evening nanny. I'm available right away. I have many years of experience working with children. I have a positive teaching approach, using art and music as often as I can (as long as the child is interested). This is how I started; I studied Child Psychology which consisted of studying child behavior part of the week and providing in-school day care which we taught the other part of the week. Shortly after that class I was a nanny for two kids for several years- Mr. Robbie and Miss Erica. Their dad was stationed in Florida, so unfortunately they had to move.

I've also taught piano to a few of my friends children over the years. I love to incorporate art and music into my activities with kids. My mom started me in piano lessons when I was 3 and couldn't be more thankful for it- so when parents are open to letting me pass on that passion, I jump at the chance.

I taught pre-school for a year in 2005 at a private day care/preschool, I had 12 students. Our kids varied in age. Ages 5 months to 5 years old. I loved teaching them and playing with the little ones and watching them grow into toddlers.

Before moving back to Bellingham in September I worked at my friends green cleaning company; Green Glove. I was also an on-call nanny for two families in Seattle for a 1 year old little boy and a 14 month old little girl- Joshua and Charlotte. Joshua was the son of one of our clients for the green cleaning company.

More recently I was a one on one teacher with a 4 year old with behaviors. I worked at Bellingham Childcare and Learning Center (BCLC). The behaviors of my student got too high for the facility to accommodate so he was asked to leave. I continued working with him outside of the facility as well as substituting at BCLC for several months. I also worked for a for-profit assisted living company as a direct support staff for adults with development disabilities. Preparing meals, giving medications on time, morning and evening routines, bathing, outings, etc were a some of the things that were a part of this job.

Currently I am a nanny for 3 families, MWF I have Ian (14 months) and Cooper (4 years old), Tuesdays I have Raya (about 14 months) and Sienna (4 years), Thursdays I have Norah (15 months) and Ian comes to Norah's home in the afternoon on thursdays too. All three families I work with know each other and are also helping me find a great family to work with in the evenings. They are all able to references for me, if you'd like references!

I do want to put it out there that I am moving at the end of May and will be available only until May 19th. I have many awesome friends who have nanny experience who may be available to take my place. I am the babysitter who "flaked" out on her. I was never paid, nor did she hold to the agreement of paying something over the dshs $2.15 an hr to help compensate for my gas to take her son to school, pick him up and drop them off at different locations for sports, appts etc. To date I am out $1000 in pay plus about $350 in gas (out of my own pocket)
So, since she decided to dodge responsibility and put this all on me on CL, I wanted to warn anyone who may be thinking of answering her ad. If she tries to claim she has paid me, ask to see the canceled checks or dshs document proving so. She hasnt and I now have to file in small claims.
If you can afford to work for free, then by all means, answer her ad.
I cannot afford that any longer. It has cost us tremendously.

Early Morning Care Needed (Alger)

We are in need of a reliable, caring female to watch a 11 year old girl early mornings. Mom has to leave for work at 5am and the bus doesn't come until 8am. We are looking for someone long term at least 1 year so we don't have to try to find someone new right away.

So, we need someone who is willing to come at 4:45am M-Th and make sure she gets up and ready for school on time and then drive her to the school bus (about a mile away). Depending on your rate we would love to have some light household up keep done (sweep the floor, wash the breakfast dishes). There is also a possibility of exchange of childcare for a room. We have a furnished spare room - you won't have to get up so early!

There are dogs - labs. So you must be comfortable with dogs (they are allowed in the house). They are trained and very lovable but very active. Dog care is not a requirement of the job.

SAHM to care for your little ones reasonable price (birch bay)

Hello. I am a stay at home mom available to watch your little ones any ages. I have 3 children of my own. My oldest son is in Kindergarten 4 days a week and my middle son is in preschool 3 days on short hours. I have a small and clean house. I love children and animals. We do have 3 dogs that spend most of their time outside. The dogs are great with kids though for your comfort would keep them in areas not around the children. I can do early mornings up until about 6pm. I charge $3 per hour, or $25 per day. Whichever ends up being less. Discount available for multiple children. Though I am only taking 2 more children at this time. My children have other transportation for school so there is no need for me to leave the house. I will provide most of the food but snacks would be greatly appreciated. I do have references, and though I did not keep my license up after I became a stay at home mom I was a certified nursing assistant. You are welcome to run a background check also! I know that right now there the fear of H1N1. I strongly believe in bleaching surfaces just the way a daycare would do, and all dishwasher loads get a touch of bleach. I realize this is not a blog post, but I would like to respond to your comments. First of all, I have offered to pay minimum wage, which is very fair. Paying someone $10/hour to babysit is not a "proper wage." And I, like many single moms I know, work nights, which means that I can't take my kids to a daycare because they are closed. A nanny hired fulltime who is expected to do everything a parent would do, ie cleaning, cooking, chauffering to and from activities, bathing and everything else along with playing and teaching and who has training and education in childcare can demand a higher wage. But what I am finding vastly more of is simply students who want to babysit part time and have the parent work around their class schedule. And that's fine, but they shouldn't expect to be paid an arm and a leg to spend a couple of hours playing with the kids and then put them to bed and have personal time. I'm not going to pay someone $12 an hour to sit on my couch and do homework or watch cable while I'm at work and can only bring home 50 cents an hour after taxes and paying the sitter. It doesn't work that way. Parents who hire sitters and have incredibly high expectations about schedules and menus should pay higher, because they expect more. But a lot of us parents just want someone to play with our kids, keep them safe and be here when they are asleep until we can be home. Is that really asking so much?

I can agree that paying someone min. wage to $10.00 or more an hour to watch your kids is high, but,
If you want to have a person come to your home and watch your kid(s) every day, you have to understand
they are doing it as a living and should be able to make a proper wage. It is you that has decided to have
someone come to your house when you can cheaper go to a daycare home or center. Which runs a lot
cheaper. Instead prices are based on having more children and families involved. Home daycare are like your
child being at home and centers are more like being at school. Sometime homes can be a little cheaper then
centers, but both of these are under paid. And as far as watching kids in your home and being able to do what
you normally do is wrong, unless you are really not watching the kids and interacting with them. So, if your are
looking for a home setting choose a Home Provider that is licensed by the state, so you can get the comfort knowing
your child is being taken care of in a safe enviroment. And by all means if you decide on a nanny given them a
break they are only trying to make a living just like you are.
