Fairhaven Shipyard Support (Slater road and I-5)

How about a protest supporting the Fairhaven Ship Yard Dry dock and opposing the Lummis attempts to extort dollars from them? I'm thinking sometime soon. Maybe Saturday 11/28? Just after we celebrate our feast for Thanksgiving. This time frame would give us time to organize and present ourselves properly. Perhaps Slater road, just West of I-5. Im going down to a rally in Seattle, November 30th. my pet rat cant stay at home in the cold weather- that and who knows if there will be mass arrests? I love my rat, and am looking for a RESPONSIBLE caring pet sitter for just one night. I might not even stay there over night, it's just incase I get stuck there because I have no vehicle. I could probably come up with about $10. She is two years old, has a little bit of issue with her legs, she cant be played around with, but will let you gently pet her. She does not eat rat food, but I'll provide some veggies and bread for dinner probably. She has a four level super pet cage(about ferret cage sized) I think its about 3ft tall and long. We live in Ferndale, and you would have to have a car/van to transport her cage in.

Hey our band needs a bass player.

We are looking to make it to the top, so you must be serious about helping us make it to the top.

You must be willing to practice two times a week, and be reliable.

You must be able to play your instrument, and follow directions from us.

You must be 21-27 and have a cool look.

You must have good equipment like Fender and Ampeg. One guy we auditioned played a Squier, that will not cut it with us. We are pros and use pro gear. He tried to tell us that new Squiers are good (yeah right, sure). One guy even had the audacity to show up with a Fender copy that had no name on it, and played it through some italian named amp we had never heard of. He said the bass was a Nash or something and that it was made here in Washington. Needless to say, we showed him the door.

Our main influences are R.H.C.P., Sublime, The Mars Volta, and Nirvana. We are true artists, and you must also have artistic influences.

If your interested, please send us an email. We'll read it and then not get back to you, because we have no respect for bass players. Then in a month or so, we'll post another ad saying we need a bass player, and you'll wonder how people so retarded can exist.

My name is Jeff Gray. I am a upright/electric bass player with over 25 years experience playing, and 15 years teaching music. I graduated from the Western Washington music program in 1997 and am comfortable playing numerous styles of music. I mostly work out of Seattle, but live in Bellingham and would like to have some local groups that I can play with as well. Lately I am interested in solidifying a gypsy jazz group that I have been involved in for the last 4 years, or so. For this group, I am seeking a hot picking gypsy guitarist. We have already written a good bit of material for our next CD and are looking for guitarist to collaborate with, write with, and record with. We already have funds set aside for this venture.

I am also available to teach. I am comfortable teaching many different styles from beginner to advanced levels. Main styles include rockabilly slap, country, western swing, classical, jazz, bluegrass, surf, jump blues, and many others. This includes music theory and sightreading. 2 yr old dog needs a new home

I have a 2 and a half year old pointer mix named Jake that I need to find a new home for due to less than favorable situations. He is a great family dog, great with other dogs and small children (I have a 19 month old who he's great with). He's current on all his shots and is microchipped. He's very sweet and likes to cuddle and is an all around great dog. I am asking for a $50 rehoming fee, but he also comes with a kennel, blankets, collar, leash and bowls. I need to have him gone ASAP. Please help me find him a loving home!

Good luck finding an apartment in B-ham that is pet friendly and under $600. Here is the address to a partial list of apartments in Whatcom county and their pet policies. The cheapest I know of is Bakerview Terrace and they start at $640 for a two bedroom. Good luck!

Temporary Foster Home wanted (bellingham)

We are not interested in surrendering our family member, Bailee, a 2 yr. old sweet boxer. To find foster care through the animal facilities we would be required to surrender her. This does not make sense to us.

We are fostering Bailee for our daughter who could not locate an apartment in her price range that would accept a pet.
We have an old Golden. For over a year the Golden and Bailee were friends. Over night this changed. Bailee had been attacked at the dog park by another dog. The day after that Bailee began becoming agressive with our Golden. This has become a lose-lose for both dogs.

We brought in a trainer and have been working with resocializing them, but our old girl sees Bailee as just a snotty nosed "whipper-snapper" and has become grumpy with her. It's a vicious circle.

At the dog park Bailee is great with other dogs. For some reason our Golden threatens her position in the pack. I am sure there are lots of theories we could toss around here.

Bottom line, we live in a small condo. It is not working out between the dogs and has become a burden for us. Still we are unwilling to relinquish Bailee. There is nothing sweeter than when Bailee comes and puts her head on your shoulder. Once our daughter can locate a living situation where Bailee will be allowed, they will be rejoined.

We will pay for food and vet bills etc Our daughter would need to be free to come and take Bailee for outings and to obedience classes etc. The foster care family should be willing to allow Bailee to live in the home and not left alone for long periods, as this is how she lives now. She is well house broken, except for the onery lets see what is left on the kitchen counter trick or garbage.

She is goofy, comical, sweet, stuborn. You will need to be a strong boss with her. Telling her no does not hurt her feelings. Bailee has been in doggie day car in Bellingham, obedience and puppy classes. She goes to the dog parks.

Bailee could be a good dog 4H project.

Help us help Mongolian children in need.

Education is often the only escape from a life of poverty. Blue Sky Education Project is a Bellingham-based organization working to provide educational opportunity for Mongolian children in need. We are creating sponsorship relationships between Mongolian students and American donors. Additionally, we are funding a nomadic teacher for students in remote regions and intend to build schools with the cooperation of local communities.

There is MUCH work to be done, and we need volunteers! Anyone with time to give is a welcome asset to our organization. We are planning a fund-raising event next year and can use help with anything from setting up a sound system to running errands and everything in between. Especially useful skills right now would be graphic design, writing, and grant research. But ANY help is welcome!

Workspace Needed (Bellingham)

I am currently living in a place that has my wood working and art project tools in the corner of my house which makes working in my bedroom pretty tough...I am looking for a place I can store and work on my rocking chairs, chess sets, paintings, etc.

Need ride from Port Angeles to B'ham (or ferry) Nov. 27

My husband and I are going to PA for Thanksgiving, but I am staying for the entire weekend while he needs to come back on Friday.

Rather than taking two cars, which seems wasteful, it would nice if he could get a ride. If someone isn't going all the way back to Bellingham, we can also leave a car at the Edmonds ferry, so he would only need a ride from PA to the ferry terminal in Kingston and he can walk on.

Lost Black and White Cat

I recently adopted a cat from the family of a neighbor who passed away. I had hoped the cat would feel comfortable staying close to his original home on Utter St. The cat's name is Jerry. He is black and white with a short tail. His Humane Society papers say he is a domestic shorthair, but his fur is longer than the usual cat's. Jerry is wearing a collar with his registration, rabies tab and another tag with his name and my phone number. He is chipped with my contact information, too. Jerry reminds me of the Pinocchio's cat Cleo in the Disney version. I don't have a picture of him, so that's the best image I can offer. Please keep a lookout for him. Jerry is very sweet and loves a warm lap.

Chill people to share Whistler condo THIS WEEKEND (Whistler)

Ok, so here's the deal. We rented this sweet condo up in Whistler for the weekend (this weekend!). It sleeps 9 people. We had nine people, but four of them bailed at the last minute! Yeah, we know, our friends are lame flakes.

Here's where you come in.

We're looking for up to four people who are down to have a kick-ass time in Whistler this weekend. We have the condo for Saturday and Sunday nights (Nov. 21/22). The total cost for the condo is $480, split between everyone. If we get even just two more people, the cost is just $35/person/night. The condo is pretty nice too.

Who are we? We're all nice, chill kids in our mid-20's. We intend to have all manner of fun (without destroying the house), even if we don't know what that entails just yet. A few ideas: hiking, sledding, snowboarding, ziplines, checking out the olympic sites, board games, etc. Right now there are three guys and two girls going, driving up from Bellingham on Saturday morning. We're all packing in one car and don't have any extra seats (sorry), so you'll have to drive yourself.
