Toddler Teacher (Bellingham)

Promise Day Care is looking for a fun loving, energetic individual to work in our Toddler class (ages 18 months-2 1/2 years). Experience working in a licensed childcare a must. Individual must be reliable, dependable, flexible with positive job references. Tutors/Site Coordinators (Ferndale, Deming/Kendall, Lynden)

Advantage Point Learning is the leading Supplemental Educational Services provider in the Northwest. We provide after-school tutoring under the No Child Left Behind Act.
We are currently seeking qualified Instructors and Site Coordinators to administer the Advantage Point Learning tutoring program. Qualified candidates will possess a Bachelor's degree and teaching or tutoring experience. Spanish/English bilingual candidates are strongly encouraged to apply.

Instructor Responsibilities:

- Participating in student outreach/recruitment activities
- Developing relationships with students to promote student retention
- Promoting student attendance
- Implementing the Advantage Point Learning educational plan and motivational system
- Tutoring a group of 4-6 students working on individualized lessons in reading or math
- Completing monthly progress updates for each student
- Building cooperative relationships with school personnel and other after school staff

Site Coordinator Responsibilities:

- Recruiting students and marketing the tutoring program
- Building relationships with students and families
- Implementing the Advantage Point Learning educational plan and motivational system.
- Tutoring a group of 4-6 students working on individualized lessons in reading or math (Site Coordinator may or may not tutor students daily, depending on student enrollment.)
- Completing monthly progress updates for each student
- Taking attendance daily and notifying families of student absences
- Managing student tutoring schedules
- Managing spreadsheets. Completing and submitting very brief weekly reports.

Tutoring takes place after school Monday-Thursday. Instructor shifts are typically 1.50 hours. Site Coordinator shifts are typically 1.50-1.75 hours.

All curriculum and materials are provided. Lesson planning is done for you!!

Compensation is $20.00 per hour. Site Coordinators earn bonuses as well.

PE 100 Level Instructor (WWU)

The Physical Education, Health, and Recreation department is hiring responsible, reliable, enthusiastic instructors to teach PE activity classes for the 2010 winter quarter. Duties include preparing a clear lesson plan, giving quality instruction to students, monitoring student activity in classes, and keeping accurate attendance and participation records. Classes available include conditioning, group fitness, jogging, weight training, social dance, badminton, pickleball and racquetball. Lead teachers and subs (Everson)

We are growing and we need help! We are looking for a lead teacher for our small non-profit school (All About Kids) in Everson. We are working hand in hand with our community to provide safe and quality childcare for the children of Nooksack Valley. Our school started out with 17 children and 3 teachers. We are now licensed for 56 children! We need teachers who are willing to share their experience and ideas as well as their love for children.

We currently have a great staff to take care of our infants, toddlers, preschool, and school age children, but are in need of a another lead teacher. We need leaders who will help move our program to the next level!

We would also like to hire a teacher to help sub for when a teacher is ill and/or as our enrollment increases. This could be a great chance to build some more experience and maybe become a lead or assistant teacher yourself.

The best candidates would have at least 1 year experience with children, 20hrs STAR basic training, and a positive attitude. You must also enjoy working with children. These positions are about 25 hours or more a week, Monday through Friday.

Substitute teachers will be working in various classrooms with children ages infant through kindergarten. Whatcom Family YMCA: Substitute Teacher (Barkley)

The Barkley YMCA Child Development Center has substitute teacher positions available. We are looking for someone with the ability to work with children and infants ranging in age from 6 months to 5 years old. Hello, my names Austin and I'm a senior at WWU. This is my last year in Bellingham and tutoring is something I've always enjoyed doing. I'll be graduating with a major in Cell Biology and a minor in both Chemistry and Psychology. I plan on becoming a physician and attending medical school upon graduating. I have experience with children of pretty much all ages. I've volunteered for Big Brother Big Sister the last few years, have volunteered for Doernbecher Children hospital (ages 8-18), and had been a babysitter up until about mid-High School.
