Parttime Residential Caregiver (Bellingham)
Residential caregiver needed for Saturdays and Sundays, 7-8 hours each day, on-call hours, and 5 additional shopping hours per week at a time of your choice (averages about 25 hours per week). Need to have compassion and empathy for people with mental health issues, many of whom also struggle with chemical dependency issues. Experience with people with mental illness and recovery is preferred, but will train the right person. You must be able to work independently on shift, making sure the house and people living in the house are safe, be friendly and approachable, and very dependable.
On-call hours usually amount to around 10-20 extra hours per month and these could be any shift, including overnight shifts. You will not be expected to help out with every needed shift, and we will work with your school or employment schedule, but we need you to be able to cover at least 60% of the open shifts as they come up.
