My name is Jeff Gray. I am a upright/electric bass player with over 25 years experience playing, and 15 years teaching music. I have studied jazz bass with legendary bassist Chuck Israels (Bill Evans, John Coltrane), graduated from Western Washington music program in 1997, and worked in the studio with producers such as Stephen Nikleva (guitarist for Ray Condo, and Sarah McLachlan).
I teach many different styles from beginner to advanced levels. Main styles include rockabilly slap, country, western swing, jazz, classical, bluegrass, surf, jump blues, and many others. Guitar/Songwriting Lessons From Major Label Musician (Bellingham)
I am a local musician who has done several national and UK tours alongside acts like The Smashing Pumpkins, My Chemical Romance, The Used, Built To Spill, Team Sleep, Plus 44, and others. The last major tour I was on was the 2008 Taste Of Chaos tour, which was an arena tour featuring Avenged Sevenfold and Atreyu. I have worked several times in the studio with multi-platinum record producer Ross Robinson, as well as Mark Hoppus and Travis Barker from Blink-182 and Plus 44, Chino Moreno from Deftones and Team Sleep, Chris Pennie from Dillinger Escape Plan and Coheed And Cambria, and Wes Borland from Limp Bizkit and Black Light Burns. I am currently in the band Idiot Pilot and have released two major label albums on Warner Brothers Records; currently recording the third. Greetings! My name is Kennedy and I'm a guitarist/upright bassist who moved to the area a few months ago and is looking to take on new students. I've been teaching the past 7 years throughout Washington and now I'm looking for new students here in Bellingham ~
A little about me:
Started playing guitar in 1994, picked up electric bass in 1997
Twenty-two years old
Played in multiple bands and music ensembles, offered multiple college scholarships as an upright jazz bassist
Taught students from age 6-56, specialize in absolute beginners
Instead of just learning scales and technical mechanics of playing, I prefer a more "user-oriented" approach to teaching - learn to play by playing what you (and I, on occasion) like, whether it's rock, blues, country or jazz. I've got quite a bit of experience with each field, so when it comes to learning I can create a custom plan for you :-)
Here's the part I bet you're really interested in - rates. Traditionally, I do lessons in-home for $15 at 45 minutes per session (sometimes $20 if the distance is greater than a 15 minute drive) and these lessons can sometimes run up to an hour without any extra charge. However, if you'd be willing to meet at my house off of Lakeway Drive for lessons, I can negotiate for even less!

I have recently moved to Blaine from Colorado, where I taught private piano lessons for six years. I have my BA in music, as well as a teacher's license with elementary endorsements. I am currently teaching music part time in a private school setting.
I tailor my teaching methods to suit each of my student's interests, personality, and learning style. My own training has been primarily classical, and this is my primary emphasis in teaching. I had a wonderful experience learning to play the piano, and I desire to pass on a love of music to all my students, whether or not they wish to play piano long-term.
I have taught students in grades 1-10, and I will accept all ages. However, due to my emphasis on reading and understanding written music, I prefer that students be able to read at a second-grade level before starting lessons.

Guitar Lessons From Major Label Musician (Bellingham)
I am a local musician who has done several national and UK tours alongside acts like The Smashing Pumpkins, My Chemical Romance, The Used, Built To Spill, Team Sleep, Plus 44, and others. The last major tour I was on was the 2008 Taste Of Chaos tour, which was an arena tour featuring Avenged Sevenfold and Atreyu. I have worked several times in the studio with multi-platinum record producer Ross Robinson, as well as Mark Hoppus and Travis Barker from Blink-182 and Plus 44, Chino Moreno from Deftones and Team Sleep, Chris Pennie from Dillinger Escape Plan and Coheed And Cambria, and Wes Borland from Limp Bizkit and Black Light Burns. I am currently in the band Idiot Pilot and have released two major label albums on Warner Brothers Records; currently recording the third. I was recently a weekly guest writer for Guitar World Magazine online. Lessons are preferred to be weekly or biweekly, here in Bellingham. Price can be discussed once you shoot me an email.
No formal musical experience is required at all, just a desire to learn and a love for music. I am looking for beginner to intermediate guitarists who are interested in more than just learning to shred, but in analyzing and deconstructing the songwriting process. There will be technical training as well, with mostly a focus on the creative side of things. Almost any genre that you are interested in we can explore; from punk to folk to post-rock to pop.
