Basketball officials sought (Bellingham)

People interested in officiating girls basketball games are invited to attend a meeting Oct. 19 in Burlington.

The Northwest Board of Basketball Officials is seeking members to referee high school and middle school girls basketball. The NWB provides officials for games in Whatcom, Skagit, Island and San Juan counties.

“We’re seeking teenagers, college students and adults who enjoy girls basketball and want to contribute to its quality,” said Ron Van Soest, NWB president. “With so many schools in our coverage area, there are plenty of opportunities for beginning and experienced officials to be involved in the sport and supplement their income. We provide training and mentoring for all new officials.”
