Living in everyday grace and the present (Bend)

Greetings! How often do we find ourselves stuck in the past and as a result, we tend to keep repeating unhealthy patterns in our lives? There’s a saying that says “those who remain in their past are doomed to repeat it.” Then there are those times we seem to have such a struggle to forgive ourselves. Oh, let us not forget that unwelcome performance oriented behavior. Always trying to live life according to others expectations of us, instead of being authentic and the people we really are supposed to be. Well, are you ready to make new and healthy choices in your life? I’m looking to start a group based on Marianne Williamsons book “Everyday Grace.” There will be opportunities to look at other books or materials as well. This isn’t a group for feeling sorry for ourselves but an opportunity to discover tools that will lead to a healthier life. Sometimes when we are in the middle of making changes, it’s nice to have the support of others. We all have the answers within us but need a little help in discovering what those answers are. This is about taking ownership for our own lives and changing the things that aren’t working in them. After all, what we put out there, we do attract it back to us. Until we truly understand and love ourselves, we can’t fully love others. I’m looking to put together a group that is safe for people to be truly authentic. In order to make changes, we do need to look at what’s not working and come up with a plan that will get us to living life in the present. Seeking Youth Groups, School Groups, Girl and Boy Scout Groups, etc. to organize a bake sale in conjunction with our Holiday Craft Bazaar. We have five weekends available: November 20-22, Nov. 27-29, Dec. 4-6, Dec. 11-13, Dec. 18-20. Hours are from 10am - 6pm.

Baking For Our Troops (Anywhere!)

Hi everyone! I belong to a large group with members all over the United States that bakes cookies and goodies each month and sends them overseas to our troops that are longing for home. I want people who would like to join me so I can start up a Central Oregon team of our own and we can help reach more servicemen and women! I would like to have people who want to bake and contribute, as well as people who have family members or friends stationed away right now. We can put in requests to bake especially for their units and help give them a little piece of home. Please also forward this to anyone you know. I would like a nice big group. We will meet up once per month to get to know each other, decide whom is making what and then again in the month to collect all of the goodies baked!

Central Oregon Silat Group (Bend)

Pentjak Silat is a musical martial art set to drum and gong beats, the art is a dance based on animal styles.. knife and sword fighting... its attitude is a serious approach to dealing with multiple armed attackers from an unarmed standpoint... its an ancient practice designed as a response to other martial arts ... this system is a predominantly tiger style

Silat is a mystical art with a spiritual component based in sufism...it comes from the Indonesian Island of Sumatra... and the West Sumatran tribe of Batak peoples... Its Tradition has been handed down through centuries through families, it is knowledge intensive, with a very powerful healing tradition, there are also aspects of musical instrument crafting and weapons forging by hand that are passed on in the course of instruction....

Silat is very different from other martial arts... it does not look like karate, tae kwon do, jiu jitsu or any other traditional path of martial arts available in america... it has no connection to chinese systems of kung fu... although these traditions have many blessings on their paths... Silat is quite distinct...

True Silat is rare in America.. and outside of Indonesia... its cultural inheritance or Puskah is even rarer still... there are only a handful of truly authentic Silat Teachers in America...

there are no tournaments or conventional sparring or katas, in Silat due to its no nonsense approach... its not about grown men at play or sport... rather it is a way of life that prepares one to survive one or simultaneous lethal attacks... it is better to have this type of knowledge and not need it than to need it and not have it... for sure...

RICE Italian Conversation Group Weekly Meetup (Bend)

After the success of RICE's, Redmond Inter-Cultural Exchange, Spanish & English Intercambio Meetup and French Coversation Meetup the decision was made in the summer of 2009 to begin offering an Italian Conversation Group. This group, like the others, offers a weekly opportunity for people to gather who want to practice and learn a foreign language, in this case Italian, and a bit about that culture. Wanting to start an OCD(Obsessive Compulsive Disorder) group! (central oregon)

1 in 40 people have OCD and it can be a really tuff disorder to deal with. As there is not a support group already I would love to help start one. I believe some of the best therapy comes from listening and learning from each other. I am a mother of two, who is currenly struggling with OCD and post partum depression. But things are looking up. I would love to have others to meet with to encouarge one another and heal together.
