Dog Wanted (not large) (Bend)

Active couple seeks medium or smaller dog for a playmate for existing dog. A mixed breed would be preferred. No pit-bull mixes (the pounds all over the state are full of them - please have your pit-bull fixed it is a really manly thing to do.) No herd dog mixes unless the herding instinct is very weak. The pounds are also full of herd and herd mix dogs. Also no preexisting medical conditions. We own a home with a fenced yard and have stable incomes. The last two mixed breed pound dogs we had lived to be 18 and 19.5 years old (Cocker\ Lab and Airedale\Lab). Preferably the dog would be maybe under 5 years old in good physical condition. Sounds fussy but we kept the last dogs a log time so......We could buy a Labordoodle or something similar but do not want to support puppy mills.

Well mannered puppy needs new home (Bend)

Meet Max - he's a fabulous 8-month old lab/smooth coat collie mix (according to the shelter) and he joined our household a couple of weeks ago to be a buddy to my older dog. He's everything I would want him to be but he's not everything my older dog wants. There's no aggression between them - she just completely ignores him. And it's absolutely not Max's fault. He's getting pretty lonely and I would love for him to find a perfect home.

FOUND DOG - Pitbull tan/white (Hwy 20 - Tumalo/Bend)

Sadly, tonight (approx. 5pm) I found a tan/white pit bull dog, deceased on the side of the road. He (or she?) is beside the north bound lane between Bend and Tumalo (approx. 1/2 mile north of the Bend/Redmond Rd turnoff). The pooch was wearing orange Harley Davidson collar, but no tag.

He/she had obviously been hit by a car. Please feel free email me, if you need more information.

My condolences to the family, whomever you are. He/she looked well cared for and probably loved.

Our sweet "Pumpkin" went missing Halloween night. Yes, this is true. We claimed him at the Humane Society in Bend the following Monday. He has since left again. Help! Approx 5 pounds, orange male tabby with white stripe like markings. Fixed, no tage as of yet.

Sorry it has taken me so long to post.
A black cat with a white patch on its chest, no collar, declawed front paws, was stuck in a tree a few nights ago.
Supposedly it had been up there for four days.
Anyways, I now have the cat. If anyone is missing a similar cat, I think it's around 6 months or something.
I have it.
If not, it's fine, she's a great companion.

Weimaraner Needs Thanksgiving Foster Home (Bend)

My wife and I are making a last minute trip to Texas for Thanksgiving and are looking for someone to care for our weimaraner, Bella. Our normal person is not available this time so we need someone new to love on our sweet girl while we are gone! Bella is a 4 year old fully vaccinated and house trained weimaraner with no health issues (aside from being a little chubby, but we won't tell her that). She would probably do best with someone who is home during the day as weims are not meant to be left outside and alone. She loves other dogs but is confused by cats.

Bella does have a bad habit of "counter surfing". This means if there is food on a counter, and no one is watching, she will "surf" on up for a little snack. Aside from that and wanting to act like a lap dog, she has no other bad habits! My wife and are leaving for a flight out of PDX this coming Sunday (22nd) and will be returning to Bend on the 3rd of December. We are offering to pay $25 per day, for a total of $300 for the trip. We would also like to be able to call in to check on her while we are gone. If you think you have space in your home to love on our sweet weimaraner, please get in touch! Adorable Blue heeler/kelpie puppy (bend)

I have a wonderfully sweet puppy that I need to find a good home for. He is 9 weeks old, a blue heeler/kelpie (kelpie is a medium sized australian cattle dog), he's all black with white on his chest and paws. He's very sweet and obedient, I've taken him everywhere with me and he loves people and kids and even dogs and cats. He's kennel and leash trained (as good as you can train a puppy on a leash lol), still in the process of being potty trained, and has his first shots. I am asking for a re-homing fee. This little guy is definitely worth it! I just started working 2 jobs, and live in a 1 bedroom apartment so I need to find someone who is able to give him more time and a place to run. Recently spayed, only been w/ our family- please understand there will be a rehome fee, She is sweet and has a hard time being left at home. She has what is thought to just be separation anxiety. Special Needs Cat Seeking the Right Home (Bend/Redmond)

Katlyn is an adult Russian Blue cat who came to Cat Rescue, Adoption & Foster Team with infection in both eyes. The previous owner said she was blind and had always been that way. We took her to the local animal eye specialist, Dr. Heather Low, who advised us that Katlyn had entropian, a condition where the eyelids are turned in. This had been causing her discomfort her whole life, and her corneas were becoming damaged as a result of the eyelids rubbing on them.

CRAFT arranged for surgery for Katlyn's eyes, and she is now recovering. It is estimated that her vision will be about 70%, instead of her seeing just light and shadows and having constantly infected, painful eyes. She is already more active and you can tell is enjoying her gradually improving vision. She is spayed, vaccinated and has an ID chip. She appears to be healthy, and her stitches will be removed soon.

Katlyn is well-adjusted, but needs an inside-only home. She is tolerant of most other cats, and should do okay with another mellow one. Our foster home volunteer said she got along great with her cat-friendly dogs.

Free Working (Barn) Cats (Redmond/Bend)

Free working cats to help with rodent control in your barn, shop or home. Some feral, some semi-friendly, some friendly but best suited for indoor/outdoor, barns or shops. Give a cat a second chance at life and take care of your rodent issues without the use of dangerous poisons or traps. Cat Rescue, Adoption & Foster Team cats are all altered, vaccinated & dewormed, and the tamer ones are ID chipped as well. We prefer to adopt out at least two to any given location, as they tend to do better when they have a buddy or two.

With the cold weather, rodents will start invading your barn, hay, etc. and these cats can help you out in exchange for adequate shelter, safety, food and water.

We will deliver within 30 minutes of Bend or Redmond.

Kittens under 6 months are just $40 or 2 for $60! (Adopt a buddy! We prefer that small kittens have a suitable animal friend in the new home.) The kittens shown below are new from foster homes and are not yet featured on the website. They will be ready for visits and new homes beginning on Saturday, Nov. 21.

We accept cash or checks at this time; we are scheduled to be set up for credit and debit cards, but don't have the equipment just yet.

We have a senior / handicapped adoption program, adult or teenage (over 6 mos.) kitten free. Also, adult cats and teenage kittens are free to veterans and their immediate family (same household).

We have semi-feral, feral and tame cats that are more comfortable in an appropriate barn/shop environment, at no cost and we will deliver.

All adopters are required to complete an adoption application and agreement. Information on the cat or kitten's surgery, vaccination history, etc. is provided.

You may ask, why are the adoption fees so low, less than the shelters? Especially when the value of the spay/neuter, vaccinations, ID chip, etc. is well over $100? Come visit and you will see why! We have LOTS of kittens and cats due to the poor economy this year, about twice as many as a year ago, and we want to see them all have good homes sooner rather than later. We are also expecting that the poor economy is not going to go away any time soon, and that means more abandoned cats and kittens that we cannot help if we don't adopt out the others quickly.

We do not cage our adoptable cats and kittens; they are free to romp in their respective areas, so be prepared when you sit down to have a few making themselves comfortable on your lap!

Cat Rescue Group Needs Volunteers (Bend/Redmond)

If you love kittens & cats and want to help in a big way, volunteer for Cat Rescue, Adoption & Foster Team! We are a no-kill sanctuary, nonprofit, run completely with volunteer help and on donations from the public. We have many rescued cats and kittens, and it is a lot of work to care for them all. The economy has caused many pets to be abandoned or neglected, and we have assisted twice as many this year as last year - now well over 900 for 2009! The economy does not look that good, and we fear it will be a hard winter for a lot of pets. We need people to help with socializing kittens, handling the daily chores of feeding, cleaning and litter boxes, brushing and grooming the cats, helping other volunteers and our vet tech with giving medications and other care, helping with small fix-up projects, assisting with paperwork, helping plan and take part in off-site adoption events, talking with retailers and others about donations of food and litter, transporting cats and kittens to and from vet appointments, helping trap stray cats so they can get proper care, and so much more! If you have some time, we have something you can do! Whether it is for a few hours a week or more often, we can use the help!

We also need foster homes for kittens too young for spay/neuter and adoption, mom cats with babies, and special needs cats (those that have injuries or other health issues, are older or that are having a hard time adapting to life in the sanctuary). We provide food, litter, supplies, cages if needed, medications as needed, etc. and we work with foster homes to schedule deworming, vaccinations and any medical care. All we need are safe homes for the babies to grow, for the moms to have a quiet place to tend to their babies, and for cats that need to recover from surgery or have other health issues to be able to thrive and become adoptable.
