JOB PURPOSE
The Staff Accountant will work in cooperation with the Finance Director and other employees in the Fiscal office to complete required daily, weekly, and monthly responsibilites. The Staff Account will be responsible for maintaining financial records in accordance with generally accepted accounting principles.
MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS:
Education/Certification and experience: Minimum BS degree in accounting or an AA degree in accounting and 4-5 years experience working in the accounting field.
Required Knowledge, Skills & Essential Functions: Ability to work effectively with other employees and staff in work situations. Experience in and the capacity to participate in the principles and practices of working with a team is required. Employee must have excellent verbal and written communication as well as problem solving skills. Good communication & coordination with company personnel is required. Knowledge of related computer applications adding machine, and telephone. Familiar with generally accepted accounting principles & basic bookkeeping procedures.
Physical Demands/Requirements: Work is typically performed in an office setting.
PRINCIPAL ACCOUNTABILITIES:
1. Attentive to details and accuracy, well organized
2. Maintain financial records in accordance with generally accepted accounting principles.
3. Maintain department files appropriately
4. Prepare checks and bank deposits.
5. Deliver deposits to the bank.
6. Enters data for cash receipts and cash disbursements in the computer accounting software.
7. Prepares bi-weekly payroll in the Evolution payroll system.
8. Notifies the Payroll Company of any changes or pertinent changes to the system.
9. Types a variety of documents, reports, and records.
10. Prepares and enters P/R entries.
11. Files and performs clerical duties as assigned.
12. Responsible for effectively researching, tracking, and resolving (or properly referring) accounting or documentation problems and discrepancies.
13. Prepares government and other miscellaneous reports as required.
14. Must work well as a team with other members in the Fiscal office and throughout the agency.
15. Complete required reports and documentation in a timely manner meeting all standards as required.
16. Willing and able to learn new information as needed.
17. Attend & participate in meetings as required.
- Perform any and all miscellaneous job duties as may be required from time to time.

Details: Part-time (19 hours per week) Monday thru Friday, 9 am to 2 pm
Position Summary: To support the financial management of operations of the Credit Union though maintenance of accounting records and reports. Performs duties of moderate complexity in accordance with standard procedures and under moderate supervision.
