Dam Engineer (Syracuse, NY)

Barton & Loguidice, P.C., a growing multi-disciplined consulting engineering firm, is seeking a dynamic, self-motivated Dam Engineer for a position in our Syracuse office. This newly created, full-time position will complement our growing practice in the field of dam engineering and impoundments. B&L has existing resources in hydrology, hydrogeology, geotechnical engineering, structural design, environmental review, and environmental support for ecological impacts from dam rehabilitations.

Candidates should have at least a B.S. in Civil Engineering with 10+ years of progressive engineering and project management experience in structural or geotechnical engineering, including substantial dam experience. Relevant dam experience should include a combination of design and construction of embankment and concrete dams and appurtenant structures; dam inspections; permitting; and remediation design. Registration as a Professional Engineer (P.E.) in NY is required and experience in the consulting engineering field is desired.

Duties include:
• Dam inspections and conceptualizing remediation and removal options
• Cost and schedule projections for dam remediation and/or removal projects
• Coordinating project teams including hydrogeologists, ecologists, structural engineers, and geotechnical engineers
• Coordinating dam permitting efforts
• Coordinating plan and specification preparation for dam projects
• Coordinating administration of construction of dam remediation/removal projects
• Development of emergency action plans
• Development of operation and inspection plans

CWI (Binghampton)

We are currently seeking AWS-CWI certified inspctors. Must be experienced with inspecting structural steel for steel bridges with AWS D1.1.


The Level II individual shall have the skills and knowledge to

• Set-up and calibrate equipment.

• Conduct tests with appropriate NDT Technique

• Interpret, evaluate, and document results.

• The individual shall be thoroughly familiar with the scope and limitations of the method in which certified and shall be capable of directing the work of trainees and Level I personnel.

• The individual shall be familiar with the codes, standards and other contractual documents that control the method as utilized by the employer.

• Operate and maintain radiographic equipment as necessary and where applicable.

• Perform radiographic testing in a field or shop environment.
